The Lion King’s live-action remake is releasing in a few days and needless to say everyone is excited. A few days back it was revealed that Shahrukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan will be doing the voiceover for Mufasa and Simba respectively for the Hindi version of the film. And naturally, anything that has SRK associated with it gets us excited. However, there is one person who is not happy with this news: Shaan.
To be honest, Shaan is pretty hard to impress anyway, but yaar Shahrukh Khan say kaun nai impress hota. Khair Shaan decided to voice his displeasure in a series of tweets.
Pls don’t destroy an iconic film with Hindi dub .. no difference in shahrukhs voice it is like any other V/O he does for his films . At least change your voice expression for a lions dub.
James Earl Jones must be laughing.. what Shahrukh failed to understand if that the characters in the film are sketched according to the dubbing artists facial expressions .. if you see simba he resembles Matthew brodrick
One person commented that Shaan is obsessed with SRK.
I’m not … what did the captain of the titanic did when his ship was sinking . I mean what has an actor got to do with fall of the industry strange analysis it’s like saying if francis Ford Coppola didn’t make godfather then al Pacino should have done it himself ..
Wow, Shaan really is active on Twitter. He practically responded to each user who criticised him. He was even defending Prime Minister Imran Khan and his government at the same time. Looks like he has plenty of free time on his hands aaj kal.
Yes he is selected by the people of Pakistan to lead .. mic drop
Recently, Yasir Hussain remarked that Mahira Khan does not know how to act. Here are three clips of hers from her most popular films. Judge for yourself.
Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has shared the video of a simulation from popular video game Grand Theft Auto (GTA) V, assuming it to be real.
Tweeting the video which showed a plane miraculously avoiding colliding with an oil tanker as it descended on the runway, Gandapur wrote, “Narrow escape of an aircraft which could have ended in a great disaster. Miraculous save by the pilot’s presence of mind.”
The clip had originally been shared to Youtube on June 20 by The UiGamer, who has amassed millions of views with clearly labelled videos of plane stunts on GTA V.
While Khurram mistook the animated video for a real-life clip, Twitterati did not and most of them were quick to troll anyone who thought it was actually a “miraculous save”.
How difficult is it to know that this was a clip from the game GTA5? Heard of Grand Theft Auto V??? Even Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, who is secretary-general of Pakistan Awami Tehreek party did this same mistake. God!
This isn’t the worst that happens daily in that city. There’s heists everyday, there’s a bunch of gangs, drugs all over the city, destruction, murders. This is a calm day.
Wow man, I have a hanger right across from there. It has 2 smaller choppers with homing missiles and machine guns. I also have a larger chopper with carpet bombing capabilities.
“As if our politicians are super intelligent,” one said while suggesting in a joke the United States (US) might sell virtual fighter jets to Pakistan instead of F-16s. “These innocuous mistakes are what we live for,” another wrote.
You have to be living under a rock if you don’t know about Yasir Hussain and Iqra Aziz’s very public engagement. Yasir proposed to his long-time alleged beau during the Lux Style Awards which means thousands of people were watching him get down on one knee. Like NBD.
Anyways, Yasir’s very public proposal has the whole country divided. While romantics are loving Yasir’s public display of affection, others are hating on the couple for being too public with their romance.
Hamza Ali Abbasi who likes to comment on all matters under the sun also had a few words to share. Taking to Twitter, his favourite social media platform, Abbasi defended Iqra and Yasir and congratulated them on getting engaged. Quoting verses from the Quran, Hamza requested people to not judge the two and instead appreciate them for wanting to opt the halal route i.e. nikkah.
#IqraAziz In an era when ppl prefer haraam over halal, how can U find faults in a man asking a woman for nikkah? Bcz he hugged her or kissed her on the cheek? STOP IT! Instead celebrate the good… Heartiest congrats to Yasir & Iqra. May Allah bless u both in ur new journey. pic.twitter.com/5jsxGUSYZy
He asked fellow Pakistanis not to point out flaws in other people and instead enjoy the good part.
Brother…. Be forgiving to people… Dont call out names & find personal faults in them…. Look away from thr faults & celebrate the good part… Thts what Allah loves. Aagay aapki marzi
Of course, no Hamza Ali Abbasi debate is complete without at least one reference to item songs.
Despite the backlash Hamza received from the public, he continued to defend Iqra and Yasir asking people to refrain from name calling and abusing the newly-engaged couple.
May Allah allow all of us to conquer our egos & our emotions and follow the way of Rasool Allah صل اللہ علیہ و سلم pic.twitter.com/6J7zzwbrUk
We have to agree with Hamza’s stance here. Just because you disagree with someone doesn’t mean you have to resort to name-calling or being rude to them. Cyberbullying is real and has detrimental effects on a person’s health. Just a few days ago, Iqra opened up on being bullied online and the negative effects it has on a person’s mental health.
Meanwhile, other celebrities including Mahira Khan and Gohar Rasheed congratulated Iqra on social media.
Question for all the keyboard warriors KHUD BOSA, BOSA KARTI HAI DOSRAY KAY BOSAY SAY KIYU DARTI HAI? Congratulations #IqraAziz & #YasirHussain on your beautiful new beginning Bahut sarey dowaye
The 18th Lux Style Awards took place last night in Karachi and though it was a star-studded affair, with the industry’s leading ladies (Meera, Mehwish Hayat, Maya Ali, Saba Qamar) leading the show, we do feel that the star power was less than the previous years.
Here are all the faces missing from the red carpet and award ceremony.
Humayun Saeed
The evergreen hero of the Pakistan entertainment industry was missing from this year’s awards function. Could it be because he wasn’t nominated for Best Actor this year?
At LSA 2018
Hamza Ali Abbasi
To be fair, Hamza Ali Abbasi has lately been missing from the entertainment scene. Both his upcoming projects The Legend of Maula Jatt and Alif are in their post-production stage with no release dates announced.
Hamza was also not nominated for his last film Parwaaz Hai Junoon even though it did well at the box-office. So maybe that’s why he was no-show despite being in the city? Did he feel snubbed? His fans certainly did.
Fawad Khan
To be honest, we’ve gotten used to not having Fawad around anymore. We rarely see him. Does he even exist or was he a figment of our imaginations?
Fawad Khan & Sadaf Fawad at LSA 2016
Osman Khalid Butt
We were expecting to see OB at the red carpet considering his latest film Baaji just released, but he was missing from the LSA scene. Time to unwind?

Ali Zafar
Despite being nominated, Ali Z did not make it to the event. But keeping the mind the controversy surrounding him, he probably thought it would be better to sit this one out than invite more trouble. Our investigation (read stalking) has revealed that Ali is currently in the US doing concerts and shows. Smart move Ali.
Ayesha Omar
Ayesha is a constant at all Lux Style Awards and is seen flaunting her inner fashionista on the red carpet. Wonder why she didn’t make an appearance this year.

Nauman Ejaz
Nauman Ijaz was part of the drama that ensued last year after the awards, in which people called out the award organisers for being biased. Looks like Naumaan is silently boycotting this year’s show.
Looking at this picture, we have to say we missed Vasay’s comedy as well.
Here’s what Nauman had said about last year’s awards:
Hania Aamir & Asim Azhar
Putting them together because, well they’re always together. Hania and Asim also skipped the LSAs even though their good friends Asad Siddiqui and Zara Noor Abbas were in attendance. The two were last spotted chilling in Dubai, so we guess they didn’t want to interrupt their vacay.
Javed Sheikh
Javed Sheikh is usually everywhere, but this time he was nowhere to be seen. And we have to admit, his presence was missed. After last year’s award ceremony where he was pulled into an unnecessary controversy, involving Mahira Khan, maybe Sheikh Sahab decided to sit this one out so he doesn’t get pulled into another one again.
Ahad Raza Mir & Sajal Aly
The newly engaged couple also did not make an appearance. Looks like they’re trying to stay low-key to avoid unnecessary media intrusion.

Other notable names who were not in attendance include Urwa Hocane, Farhan Saeed, Hareem Farooq, Sanam Saeed, Muneeb Butt, Aiman Khan and Ahsan Khan.
Awami Raj Party (ARP) chief and former Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Jamshed Dasti has gone bald to protest the “broken promises” of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and the rise in inflation under the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rule.
Speaking of his peaceful protest in a video message, Dasti, along with his shaved-head companions, said that inflation had spelled misery for the people.
“PM Imran had made several promises to the people before elections, but even snatched from them the opportunity to earn bread after coming to power,” he said, requesting the people to shave their heads and join the peaceful protest campaign.
Elected to the National Assembly on a PPP ticket in 2008, Dasti resigned as an MNA in 2010 for possessing a fake Bachelors degree. He was re-elected to the lower house of the parliament in a 2010 by-election.
In 2012, he quit PPP to join the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N); however, he was elected as an independent candidate in 2013. Starting his own party ahead of last year’s general election, he lost to a PPP candidate in the NA-182 constituency of Muzaffargarh.
Industrialist Bilal Mansoor Khawaja beams as he pets his white lion, one of the thousands of exotic animals at his personal “zoo.”
Khawaja calls his handful of lions and a tiger the “crown jewels” of a larger collection of more than 4,000 animals he has amassed in recent years. He insists his zoo — made up of some 800 different species — is not about status or prestige but simply a manifestation of his love for pets. And to care for his flock, he has more than 30 people working in shifts and four vets on staff. Bilal admits that the entire setup costs a fortune although he refuses to provide an estimate of how much.
His nine-acre property where a portion of his animals, including zebras, flamingos, and horses, reside is right in the middle of a dense neighbourhood in Karachi.
Bilal, in his conversation with AFP on wild animals as pets, revealed that there are up to 300 lions within Karachi, kept in gardens, inside rooftop cages, and at farmhouses across the metropolis.
Bilal is among those wealthy Karachiites who have a penchant for wild and exotic animals and likes to keep them in their homes as pets. Pictures of them cruising with their lions sitting in the front seats of luxury SUVs, have often made it to social media and invited uproar but little has been done about this.
Pakistani laws make it easy to import exotic animals, but once inside the country regulation is almost non-existent. This has led to an untold number of such creatures being imported or bred across Pakistan in recent times.
Exotic animal dealer Aleem Paracha, who claims to be one of the top three importers of exotic animals in Karachi, says that for 1.4 million rupees ($9,000) he can deliver a white lion to a client in up to 48 hours —and do so entirely legally.
Certificates from the countries of origin along with permits from authorities are provided for any animal brought into Pakistan in accordance with an international treaty to protect endangered species.
But Paracha says there is also a network of breeders across Pakistan that can also provide lions at a moment’s notice. He added that lion farming has become very popular in the city.
This has lead to a deterioration in their health. Karachi veterinarian Isma Gheewala says lions suffering from calcium deficiencies are common at her clinic, where she says she has treated between 100 to 150 big cats over the years.
“The bones become extremely brittle,” she explains. “And even if they jump like a foot down, they will injure some bone or the other and then it takes a long time for the animals to recover.”
But both Paracha and Khawaja dismiss claims they are doing anything harmful by taking exotic species out of their natural habit and raising them in Pakistan.

The Punjab government has decided to withdraw food-from-home facility for former prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, who is currently serving a seven-year sentence at Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail.
According to media reports, the jail administration, anytime this week, would order the withdrawal of the facility that Nawaz has been availing since his days in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.
After the withdrawal of the facility, the former premier would have to be content with the jail food — which according to Nawaz’s family, is “unfit to consume” considering his deteriorating health.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Asif Saeed Khosa had last month rejected a petition by the ex-PM for an extension in the bail granted to him on medical grounds in the Al-Azizia reference.
It was followed by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) also rejecting his bail plea. Nawaz had been granted bail on medical grounds by the apex court on March 26 for six weeks.
On April 25, he had submitted a review petition in the SC seeking a permanent bail. His bail expired on May 7.
