Why is India hosting the World Cup with empty stadiums?

Social media users are questioning the decision by the ICC to let India host the World Cup when there is no opening ceremony and barely any spectators in the first match.

Interestingly, when the Asia Cup was being partially hosted by Pakistan, some Indians criticized the ‘empty stadium’ in Multan. Now, the tables have turned, India is the host, the first match is between New Zealand and England, finalists of the last World Cup, and the stadium is empty. There was no opening ceremony for ICC World Cup 2023 and honestly, we can’t see spectators either.

This one’s hilarious, to be honest, does this remind you of Asif Zardari too?

Pakistani Virushka fans react after Vamika’s rape threat by Indian extremists

Every time the Indian cricket team loses a match, the players of the team are subjected to harsh criticism. This time the fans who claim to love the sport have gone one step ahead, as now the family members of the players are being targeted.

It is gruesome to even read the tweet by now-deleted account @Criccrazyygirl issuing a rape threat to a nine-month-old Vamika Kohli, daughter of Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma and Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli. The identity of the person who tweeted the rape threat is yet to be verified, the screenshot has been amplified several times by right-leaning handles.

Pakistani netizens reacted to this horrendous attack on a toddler, who has nothing to do with India losing their matches. We have collected a few reactions who are saying that as a Pakistan, We Stand With Virat Kohli, have a look:

The barbaric tweet called for the toddler’s photo to be revealed while issuing a rape threat. As on November 1, the handle was deleted from Twitter.

The tweet came at a time when captain Kohli is facing online attacks for speaking in support of his Muslim teammate Mohammad Shami, who was attacked online after the cricket team faced a 10-wicket defeat against Pakistan in the ongoing Men’s T20 World Cup.

Shami was subjected to vicious online trolling and abuse on Instagram and Twitter soon after the match between the two teams, in which he conceded 43 runs in 3.5 overs, ended.

  • Rohail Hyatt continues to defend stance on ‘rich can be harder than poor’

Music Producer Rohail Hyatt shared a video on his Twitter account, continuing to defend his stance that being rich can be harder than being poor.

In the video, a beggar can be seen saying that he is happy because he has no stress or fear. He says, “Although the rich take pills, they can’t sleep peacefully at night because of the constant fear of being robbed at any time.”

Despite Hyatt’s continued defence of his opinion, Twitter criticised the music producer. Some of them even asked him to give them all of his money.

Previously, Hyatt while replying to a question on Twitter, said, “I can go on and on but I hope you get the drift. I’m not saying being poor isn’t hard, but being rich can be harder at times. Totally depends on the mindset of the person experiencing that state.”

His tweet made headlines and generated an online debate.

This is not the first time that Hyatt has faced criticism. Earlier, in April, he defended Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s rape apology and got into a heated debate with singer-turned-politician Jawad Ahmad.

  • Mehwish Hayat tells Aamir Liaquat to ‘man up’ after he calls her an ‘item girl’

Mehwish Hayat tells Aamir Liaquat to ‘man up’ after he calls her an ‘item girl’

Aamir Liaquat is no stranger to controversy. Every now and then, the TV show host pokes fun at someone or passes questionable comments landing him in the line of fire.

Recently, Aamir took a dig at Mehwish Hayat for condemning the US airstrike that killed Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in Iraq.

Aamir remarked that just because Mehwish received a Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, the “item girl” should not pass such statements and should keep Pakistan’s foreign policy in mind. He added that if Soleimani was alive, “would he have invited her to perform in Iran?”

Aamir’s comments certainly did not go down well with Mehwish who hit back with a strong reply and asked the MNA to man up. She also threw shade by asking him what he had done about the case he was filing against her for Load Wedding.

Meanwhile, this is what Mehwish had tweeted with regard to Soleimani.

This is not the first time that Liaquat has picked on the actor or been openly critical of her. He previously bashed her for her performance at the Hum Awards held in October last year.

Before that Aamir had said that he would take legal action against Mehwish Hayat and Fahad Mustafa for defaming him in Load Wedding.

It appears that Mehwish’s Tamgha-e-Imtiaz is a sore point for Aamir.
