‘Rosy glow, hazel eyes, no curly hair’: Rishta demand has internet in stitches

Are rishta aunties looking for a suitable woman for men or do they want Miss Universe to become their bahu?

Rishta proposals that come to light are getting increasingly absurd. A tweet is going viral on the internet in which a woman shared a list of demands by an aunty. Included among the ludicrous list are demands that the girl must not have curly or short hair, must have completed her bachelors at the age of 22, as well as have no scars on her face or hands.

She should also have a “rosy glow” and light coloured eyes, with a concession made for hazel eyes.

Are you looking for a wife or for a robot, maam? And the sheer audacity of demanding unachievable perfectionism in a woman, while this man couldn’t even find a woman on his own? Twitter was in fits on how unabashed and demanding the rishta circus was for women.

Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg cage fight will be live-streamed for charity on X

The long-standing feud between tech moguls Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg is set to take a unique turn as Musk announced that their proposed cage fight will be live-streamed on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). The two CEOs have been egging each other on since June, fueling anticipation for a mixed martial arts showdown in the ring.

Musk took to X early on Sunday morning to reveal the latest development, stating, “Zuck vs. Musk fight will be live-streamed on X. All proceeds will go to charity for veterans,” without providing any further details on the exact date or venue.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEOs have been preparing diligently for the showdown, sharing their rigorous training regimes on the platform. In response to a user’s inquiry about the point of the fight, Musk cryptically commented, “It’s a civilised form of war. Men love war.”

On the other hand, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who is known for his training in jiujitsu, has expressed his eagerness for the battle. He publicly asked Musk to “send location” for the proposed throwdown, to which Musk promptly responded with “Vegas Octagon,” referring to the famed events centre in Las Vegas known for hosting MMA championship bouts.

Musk has been open about his preparations, posting updates on X about his weightlifting routines while juggling his busy schedule at work. “Lifting weights throughout the day, preparing for the fight,” he mentioned in one of his posts.

Despite the escalating excitement surrounding the event, Meta has not yet issued an official response to Musk’s latest announcement.

The rivalry between the two tech moguls has captured the attention of the public and the tech industry alike. With both CEOs known for their innovative contributions to the world, the cage match has become a symbol of their competitive spirit.

The charity angle adds another dimension to the event, with the proceeds going towards supporting veterans, a cause close to the hearts of many.

As the anticipation builds, fans and followers of both Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg eagerly await further details on the highly anticipated cage fight, which promises to be a thrilling and historic event in the world of tech rivalries.

Ocean gate co-founder now wants to build a colony on Venus, Twitter told him to sit down

After the tragic spectacle that was Titangate, now the new co-founder of Ocean Gate Expeditions, Guillermo Söhnlein, has announced a proposal to take 10,000 people on a floating colony to Venus by 2050. Keeping in mind that Venus, also known as “The Morning Star”, is the planet with the warmest atmosphere with a surface hot enough to melt lead.

The company has previously been slammed online for the Titan submersible which imploded during a journey to the wreck of the Titanic, killing all five occupants on the board, including the co-founder Stockton Rush.

When the news went viral on social media, Twitter couldn’t hold back the roasts because seriously after one catastrophe, you can’t seem to sit down?

‘Cringe’: Nadia Jamil does NOT like Barbie at all

    Not your Barbie girl?

While the rest of the world (completely excluding Punjab) is celebrating the release of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, veteran actress Nadia Jamil seems to not share the same opinion. Jamil took to Twitter to share some of the problems she noticed in the film.

In her Twitter post, the ‘Sitara Aur Mehrunisa’ actress shared that the film mocked a pregnant doll, who was only shown twice.

“Being pregnant is the most natural thing in the world. Get over it. To encourage little girls to see it as something repulsive is an awful idea,” she wrote.

She went on to write that the film also discouraged flat feet, calling them ‘beautiful’.

“I have flat feet. They are beautiful. I dont know why everyone is puking over flat feet. Another unhealthy thing to teach little kids.”

Nadia also shared the film was not interested in supporting equality because it encourages “bullying and domineering men”

“The Barbie world is awful/cruel 2 the Ken’s & Barbies are never interested in equality. They are interested in bullying & domineering men, almost in revenge 4 the real world. Another s**** message 2 kids.”

Some Twitter users did not agree with Nadia’s take. One user wrote:

“You missed the entire point. It’s a satirical take on beauty standards perpetuated by ‘Stereotypical Barbie,’ which is the Robbie’s character’s name. The OTT manner in which this is conveyed is to highlight the absurdity of these notions. Her entire journey is one of unlearning.”

Another user pointed out that the film was a satire that was mocking the brand

  • Taliban praises Twitter’s freedom of speech and credibility amidst Threads launch

Taliban praises Twitter’s freedom of speech and credibility amidst Threads launch

Twitter’s challenges in attracting advertisers, maintaining site functionality, and retaining users have been widely discussed. However, amidst these struggles, an unexpected endorsement has emerged from an unlikely source—the Taliban. Anas Haqqani, a prominent figure within the Taliban, recently expressed his appreciation for Twitter in light of Meta’s Threads, a rival platform that gained over 100 million users within a few days of its launch.

Haqqani, in justifying his decision to remain active on Twitter, highlighted two key advantages the platform offered. “The first privilege is the freedom of speech,” he stated. “The second privilege is the public nature & credibility of Twitter. Twitter doesn’t have an intolerant policy like Meta. Other platforms cannot replace it.”

Meta, the parent company of Threads, has made it clear that the new platform will adhere to the same content guidelines as its sister app, Instagram. This includes a stipulation that explicitly prohibits support or praise for terrorism, organised crime, or hate groups.

Elon Musk’s involvement in Twitter’s operations has been marked by a series of seemingly arbitrary policy decisions, the loosening of moderation guidelines and enforcement capabilities, resulting in chaotic circumstances, and a focus on prioritising paying users. Under Musk’s leadership, instances of hate speech have surged, and ad sales for the platform have experienced a significant decline of 59% since the previous year.

It is difficult to argue that having members of the Taliban celebrate the extent to which they can exploit the platform does not present a compelling case for potential ad buyers. Twitter, grappling with these challenges, must now confront the task of restoring confidence in its ability to provide a safe and appealing environment for both users and advertisers alike.

  • Shehbaz Sharif, Imran Khan trade barbs on Twitter

Shehbaz Sharif, Imran Khan trade barbs on Twitter

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former Prime Minister Imran Khan engaged in a tweet spat on Twitter that started on Sunday.

The exchange of barbs directed at each other started with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan responding to a tweet by Shehbaz Sharif where the Premier accused Khan of “using the proxies to threaten the Army Chief of an assassination attempt”.

Hours later, Imran Khan responded by stating that the Prime Minister’s statement was “nonsensical”.

He wrote, “You cannot fool anyone by making these nonsensical and ridiculous statements just to drive a wedge between Pakistan’s biggest political party and the establishment only so that you can save billions that you’ve stolen from the people of Pakistan.”

Not to be outdone, Shehbaz replied to Imran Khan with yet another tweet on Monday night, calling the former Prime Minister someone “who lacks the courage to face courts on charges of corruption, pilfering and crimes against the nation.”

  • Mother needed 20K from sons for financial support, son calls her ‘petty, wants unnecessary things’

Mother needed 20K from sons for financial support, son calls her ‘petty, wants unnecessary things’

A Twitter thread posted by a son about his mother is going viral on social media. A Reddit user has explained that he found his mother’s desire to take money from her sons “petty”.

The user explained that his widowed mother asked him and his brothers each to pay her Rs 20,000 so that she would be able to fulfill all of her needs, but the reddit user termed this to be selfish, arguing that his mother would be spending the money on frivolous things like parties and clothes.

“While the amount is not large by any means, and I can give it, it’s her reasoning for this that bugs me. First, this means that she gets more than one lakh month in total, counting the rental income – like I said, her necessities are already covered so she really is going to spend all this on frivolous things like party clothes, attending parties, etc etc. Doesn’t really seem fair when I keep on imposing restrictions on my own wife and kids to not spend a single paisa needlessly.”

Twitter users slammed the thread as entitled, arguing that men feel entitled to withhold financial support from the women in their lives, even their widowed mothers who had spent their lives taking care of them. As Digital Rights Foundation founder and lawyer Nighat Dad wrote:

“It’s not only about sending 20k a month to a single mother but how dare an elderly single mother think about enjoying life & spending money to pamper herself. Goes to show how much women are despised if they dare to spend their lives on their terms after passing of their partners.”

    https://twitter.com/c4ndynecklaces/status/1676490948157804546?s=20

Some users were horrified that the way the user was trying to justify how spending a small amount like 20K on his mother was a ‘selfish’ act

  • Feroze Khan thinks the cure to depression is women obeying men

Feroze Khan thinks the cure to depression is women obeying men

Feroze Khan is once more going viral on the internet for all the wrong reasons. The actor is now promoting the most absurd ways to help women overcome depression.

In a viral now-deleted post, a person had asked the actor how she could cure depression about her future, to which Khan responded:

“Obey your men. Give them your responsibility and sit back and enjoy grapes. I’d do that if I was a woman. Be a queen.”

Sir, how is this even proper advice? Cure your depression by completely submitting yourself to the men in your life?

Once more, Feroze jee proves how undefeatable his critical thinking skills are, when a fan questioned him about his misogynist views by reminding him that it was due to the struggles and hard work of his sister, ‘Maula Jatt’ actress Humaima Malick, that Khan was able to achieve such monumental fame, which brings into question why he holds such misogynist views.

To this Feroze had to respond:

    1 , I’m gonna be loud.
    2, will have no fear.
3, do you think she would’ve achieved this without my dad and us brothers backing her up ?
    *mic drop*

Classy behavior, putting down the hard work of your sister just to boost up your ego.

Twitter users obviously did not have the time or the fortitude to put up with Khan’s misogynist views and were ready to shut him down.
