    The Punjab Police have arrested Ibsham Zahid, a teenager who was harassing and threatening a girl named Fatima with rape and murder.

    Focal person to Chief Minister Punjab on Digital Media, Azhar Mashwani took to Twitter to announce the news.

    Recently, Fatima shared her story of being harassed and tortured by a guy named Ibsham Zahid. The girl shared images and video clips that show how she was being forced into a ‘relationship’ by Ibsham.

    As per the girl’s account, Ibsham started threatening her after she refused to get into a relationship with him. The girl shared a video in which Zahid is threatening to kill her father if she doesn’t agree to his demands.

    Soon after her post went viral, people on social media started demanding strict action against the guy and #IbshamZahidBehindBars started trending on Twitter.

    A girl, named Fatima, has recently come forward to share her story of being harassed and tortured by a guy named Ibsham Zahid.

    She posted a few screenshots on an Instagram account.

    The girl shared images, audio and video clips that show how she was being forced into a ‘relationship’ by Ibsham.

    As per the girl’s account, Ibsham started threatening her after she refused to get into a relationship with him. The girl shared a video that shows the boy threatening the girl to kill her father if she doesn’t consent to the boy’s wishes.

    Ibsham can be seen flaunting his weapons to frighten the girl and her family.

     “Hum Baloch hain. Hum dil nahi tortay, hum hadian tortay hain. Samajh mein aa rahi hai baat? Warna wo jo cheezain pari hui hain na wo istemal ho jayain gi ap per,” Ibsham said in the video.

    Amid all this, Ibsham’s sister also took to social media to tell her side of the story, in a very long Instagram post, she revealed that Ibhsam is just 16 years old and he is suffering from mental health conditions. She revealed that her brother was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), anger management issues and is highly emotionally unstable.

    She also mentioned that her parents are making conscious efforts for his treatment through the help of multiple professionals but they have not been able to successfully do it.

    She further mentioned that she, along with her mother, had also gone to Fatima’s house to apologise for Ibsham’s actions.

    Upon receiving a clarification by Ibsham’s sister, Fatima stated that Maarosh was twisting the facts to tell another version of the story and she was “lying about the events that never happened”.

    Ex-foreign minister Khawaja Asif under fire for glorifying Taliban

    As United States (US)-Taliban talks continue with the aim of achieving peace in Afghanistan, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker and former foreign minister Khawaja Asif has glorified the fundamentalist political movement and military organisation in a statement that drew strong criticism.

    “You may have the power, but God is with us… Allah is great,” he wrote while tweeting a picture of Taliban leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

    His statement wasn’t very well received by netizens who trained guns at the ex-foreign minister for having forgotten how the Taliban not only brutalised the people of Afghanistan but also harboured militants who targeted many, including Asif’s boss and former prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif.

    Meanwhile, after nearly two decades of war that has killed tens of thousands, peace talks between the Afghan government and Taliban have opened in Doha.

    Key speakers at the opening ceremony at a hotel included Afghanistan’s High Council for National Reconciliation Chairperson Abdullah Abdullah, Mullah Baradar and Pompeo.

    The negotiations, where the two warring sides will sit face-to-face for the first time, will start today (Monday).

    For his part, Abdullah on Saturday spoke about seeking a dignified and lasting peace.

    “I believe that if we give hands to each other and honestly work for peace, the current ongoing misery in the country will end,” Abdullah said, calling for a “humanitarian ceasefire”.

    Confusing days and dates once again, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday tweeted to welcome children back to school after a long coronavirus break, only to delete the post after realising that educational institutions won’t be re-opening until tomorrow.

    As per the details, the premier took to Twitter and wrote:

    While he deleted the tweet soon after, in a subsequent tweet PM Imran said:

    “Tomorrow we will welcome millions of children back to school. It is our priority and collective responsibility to ensure that every child can go to school safely to learn. We have worked to ensure that school operations are aligned with public health safety rules on #COVID19,” he wrote.

    This isn’t the first time that the premier, on top of several verbal blunders, has confused the dates.

    Earlier this year, he had asked Muslims “to offer special Nuwafil prayers and seek Allah’s blessings and forgiveness on the occasion of Shabe Baraat tonight”, later deleting his tweet when people had told him the night had already been observed a day ago.

    Mid-Sha’ban or Shabe Baraat is a holiday observed by Muslim communities on the night between 14 and 15 of the Islamic month of Sha’ban. It is regarded as a night when the fortunes of individuals for the coming year are decided and when Allah forgives sinners.

    Twitterati, as usual, had not let go of PM Imran’s faux pas easy.

The CCTV footage shows a few customers were busy choosing jewellery when two men entered the store wearing masks and sanitized their hands before taking out pistols.

    The robbers snatched the cash and stuffed their bags with jewellery reportedly of worth Rs 40 crore.

    With Turkish series’ unparalleled success in Pakistan, Yasir Hussain’s comments about Turkish actors have often landed him in hot water.

    Recently, netizens criticized him for calling Turkish actors ‘kachra’ [garbage]. Later, in an Instagram story, Hussain denied making these comments, saying that the publications twisted his words.

    However, a tweet purportedly by Turkish actor Hande Subasi, who played Aykiz in Diriliş: Ertuğrul, responding to Hussain’s comments has gone viral.

    “This vile & insecure man #YasirHussain does not represent a proud Pakistani nation. We thank our Pakistani audience for their love and support. Sometimes people do things for attention, he is one of them & we should all ignore him,” the tweet read.

    According to our research, the account made in the actor’s name is fake. The account is not verified and only has 387 followers.

    Moreover, the actor has a verified account on Twitter with almost 20,000 followers.

    Medical reports confirm gang-rape on Lahore motorway

    Medical reports have confirmed that the woman who was robbed at the motorway was also gang-raped.

    Media reports had earlier claimed that she had been subjected to sexual assault in front of her children. 

    As per reports, the woman with her two children, was stuck on the road as her car ran out of fuel in the Gujjar Pura area of Lahore. Two unidentified men attacked them and broke the window of their car.

    They took the woman to nearby fields where she was gang-raped and later robbed by the men who fled the scene promptly.

    After the news of the incident made headlines, the Punjab government took “serious notice” and tweeted that the victim will be served justice and the culprits will soon be behind bars.

    The police have set up check posts across the province after preparing the sketch of the accused. The village of the accused has been identified and an extensive search operation is underway. At least 12 suspects have already been arrested.

    According to earlier details, the woman had called the motorway police and asked for help but the police reportedly “refused to provide her help”.

    Many celebrities, social activists and other social media users took to Twitter to condemn the incident and demanded public hanging of the rapists.

    Trump nominated for Nobel Peace Prize over UAE-Israel peace deal

    United States (US) President Donald Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize over his efforts to broker a deal between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel.

    According to reports, Trump was nominated by Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, who praised the US president’s efforts aimed at resolving conflicts worldwide.

    “For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde told Fox News.

    Tybring-Gjedde, in his nomination letter to the Nobel Committee, said the Trump administration had played a key role in the establishment of relations between the UAE and Israel. “As it is expected, other Middle Eastern countries will follow the footsteps of the UAE, which can be a game-changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity.”

    UAE-ISRAEL PEACE DEAL“

    The UAE and Israel last month declared there would be peace between the two nations, with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin inviting the leader of the Emirates to visit Jerusalem.

    The gesture came as the UAE, after Egypt and Jordan, became the third Arab country to agree to have full ties with Israel.

    Trump took to Twitter to announce the major development.

    At the time, Trump told reporters at the Oval Office that the agreement was “a truly historic moment”. “Now that ice has been broken, I expect more Arab and Muslim countries will follow the UAE,” he said.

    In 2020, there are 318 candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize. Submissions should be made online and all nominees are discussed and then the most worthy and interesting are shortlisted.

    Earlier missing SECP official Sajid Gondal says was vacationing in northern areas

    Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Joint Director Sajid Gondal, who had gone missing from Islamabad last week, returned home on Tuesday night and said was vacationing in northern areas.

    Gondal, after confirmation by his family and friends, himself also took to Twitter to announce his return, saying he was back and safe, and thankful to all those who were worried.

    Meanwhile, a report quoted him as saying that he had gone to the northern areas for recreation.

    Police sources involved in the investigation of his disappearance told Dawn that the abductors had set him free.

    He was released near Rawat, a suburb of the federal capital. Upon being freed, he contacted his family members through a phone call and informed them that he was arriving home shortly, sources added.

    Gondal had gone missing on Thursday night and his car was found from Park Road in the capital the next morning.

    His wife had submitted a complaint of the incident at the Shahzad Town police station, expressing suspicion that her husband had been “kidnapped by unidentified persons”. She had urged the police to ensure his return, adding that the family “did not have any enmity”.

    The Shahzad Town police had registered a case over the official’s disappearance under Section 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint lodged by his wife.

    The FIR stated that Gondal left his house on Thursday at around 7:30 pm in his official car but did not return. Later his car was found parked at Chak Shahzad Town road near the National Agriculture Research Centre (NARC) but he was missing from there, the FIR stated, adding that his mobile phone was found switched off since then.

    The issue of Gondal’s disappearance was taken up by the federal cabinet on Tuesday, with Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan expressing “serious concern” over such an incident taking place in the capital.

    On Monday, Chief Justice Athar Minallah of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had also expressed serious concern over the rising number of enforced disappearances in the federal capital and directed the interior secretary to take up the issue with the PM in order to devise a policy for the protection of fundamental rights of citizens.

    Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on Thursday that he has asked the Interior Ministry to speed up the tabling of an anti-torture bill for Pakistan in the lower house of the Parliament.

    Taking to Twitter, PM Imran said that torture was “unacceptable in a civilised democratic society”. He also said that torture goes against the spirit of Islam, the Constitution and Pakistan’s international legal commitments.

    “I have asked Interior Ministry to expedite tabling our anti torture bill in National Assembly. Torture is unacceptable in a civilised democratic society & goes against the spirit of Islam, our constitution & our international legal commitments,” tweeted PM Imran.

    In January this year, the Ministry of Human Rights said it would present a bill against torture.

    Human rights minister Dr Shireen Mazari had expressed the federal government’s commitment to making the police citizen-centric and gender-sensitive by resolving legislative, infrastructural and attitudinal challenges of the police.

    She had also committed to depoliticise the police by introducing a merit-based system and a modern police law replacing the 157-year-old colonial law of 1861.
