    Former American President Donald Trump is revealing about the killing of Iran’s master operative General Qassem Soleimani in 2020 just before COVID took over the world.

    Trump said that former Prime Minister Imran Khan ‘rejoiced’ at the killing.

    “There was a Khan, a great cricket player, he became the head of Pakistan, he said it was the single biggest thing I can ever remember happening in my life when Soleimani was killed,” Trump said.

    He further claimed that Khan said, “I left my office, I walked to my home, I stayed in my home in solitude for one week, It was the biggest event that ever happened to me. He was the biggest cricket player. That’s like being a great NFL player or a great baseball player. He was said to be just about the best handsome guy. He became the boss, Pakistan.”

    Trump was addressing a campaign rally in Houston, Texas, a city with a large Pakistani diaspora population.

    However, Trump’s claim of Imran Khan going into seclusion seems to be untrue. Journalist Omar Warraich pointed out in a X thread that Khan addressed a rally in his hometown Mianwali, the very next day and did not mention Soleimani’s assassination in the speech.

    Trump’s claim that Imran Khan walked from his office, the Prime Minister Secretariat, to his home, Bani Gala, also seems to be untrue. It has never been reported that Khan ever walked home, a distance of roughly 15 kilometers.

    The United States assassinated Qasem Soleimani with a drone strike in Baghdad on January 3, 2020. Soleimani was an Iranian general, the country’s most powerful commander, widely considered to be the most important person in Iran after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

    Soleimani was the leader of the Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force, a pivotal figure in managing Iran’s campaign to drive U.S. forces out of Iraq, and built up Iran’s network of proxy armies across the Middle East. Washington accused Soleimani of masterminding attacks by Iranian-aligned militias on U.S. forces in the region.

    After Twitter and Facebook suspended US President Donald Trump’s accounts over inciting violence, the President has said he will look into building his own platform. The decision to suspend Trump’s social media account came after thousand of supported stormed the US capitol earlier this week.

    Trump sent the latest tweets on his POTUS account after Twitter banned his personal account.

    “I predicted this would happen. We have been negotiating with various other sites and will have a big announcement soon. While we also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future.”

    “We will not be SILENCED!” wrote Trump.

    It the first that Twitter has suspended the account of any head of state.

    Before Twitter, Trump’s account was indefinitely banned by Facebook.

    “The shocking events of the last 24 hours clearly demonstrate that President Donald Trump intends to use his remaining time in office to undermine the peaceful and lawful transition of power to his elected successor, Joe Biden,” Zuckerberg had said in a statement posted on Facebook.

    Trump has repeatedly used Twitter and other platforms to claim his defeat in the November 3 election was due to widespread voter fraud and to share other conspiracy theories, and had urged supporters to come to Washington on Wednesday and march on the Capitol to protest the election result.

    With the results of the US Elections 2020 yet to be announced, people are killing time and anxiety by turning to jokes and memes. Jemima Goldsmith, who has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump and his policies, trolled him by sharing the White House version of ‘Mujhe Kyun Nikala‘ — a phrase coined by Nawaz Sharif.

    In the video shared by Jemima, a man who looks like Trump can be seen sitting on an inflatable exercise ball, surrounded by a group of children. Another man, who resembles vice-president Mike Pence, seems to be pulling Trump off the exercise ball while the Trump impersonator yells that he doesn’t want to go.

    Similarly, Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg trolled the president over a tweet of his in which he called for the vote count to be stopped.

    Responding to the latter’s tweet, the teenage climate activist used Trump’s own words against him.

    “So ridiculous, Donald must work on his anger management problem, and then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Donald, Chill!” wrote the 17-year-old.

    Thunberg finally got her revenge against Trump after he criticised Time magazine’s decision to name her ‘Person of the Year’.

    Meanwhile, earlier in 2016, Jemima dressed up as Melania Trump being groped by her husband, Donald Trump, for the UNICEF Halloween Ball in London. Jemima decided to pull over the anti-Trump costume after a video of Trump got leaked in which he was explicitly talking about groping women and making horrifying statements over abuse.

    As counting votes continues in critical swing states in the US, Trump has been spreading misinformation and demanding that vote counting stops.

    US Presidential Race 2020: Twitter flags Trump’s tweet claiming effort to ‘steal election’

    Twitter has flagged United States (US) President Donald Trump’s tweet alleging an effort to “steal the election” as a neck-and-neck contest continues between the incumbent president and Democratic challenger Joe Biden for the key to the White House.

    “We are up BIG, but they are trying to STEAL the election. We will never let them do it. Votes cannot be cast after the polls are closed!” Trump had tweeted.

    A warning hiding the tweet read, “Some or all of the content shared in this tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process.”

    It, however, can be viewed by clicking on Twitter’s statement being displayed on Trump’s feed.

    US ELECTION UPDATE:

    By the time this report was filed, Trump had the lead over Democratic rival Joe Biden in the vital battleground of Florida and other US swing states, but Biden pinned his White House hopes on Arizona and a “blue wall” of three Rust Belt states that could take days to count their votes.

    Biden’s hopes for a decisive early defeat of Trump faded as the president took solid leads in Florida, Georgia, Ohio and Texas. Fox News projected Trump would win Florida, a must-win state in his quest for 270 Electoral College votes.

    Biden, 77, was eyeing the so-called “blue wall” states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania that sent Trump, 74, to the White House in 2016 for possible breakthroughs, although vote counting could stretch for hours or days there.

    Trump held early leads in those three states, but much of that was built on Republican-heavy Election Day voting. The counting of Democratic-heavy mail-in ballots in all three states was expected to take hours or days. In Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and much of Michigan, mail-in ballots were not processed until Election Day.

    Winning those three states would be enough to give Biden an Electoral College victory. Fox News projected Biden would win Arizona, another state that voted for Trump in 2016, giving him more options to get to 270 Electoral College votes.

    Even without Pennsylvania, Biden wins in Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin, as well as a congressional district in either Maine or Nebraska, which apportion their electoral votes by district, would put him in the White House, as long as he also holds onto the states that Trump lost in 2016.

    An Indian man, who earlier made headlines for worshipping Donald Trump, and was upset over the news of the United States (US) president contracting COVID-19, has died of a cardiac arrest.

    Bussa Krishna was a fan of the president and said his devotion to Trump began more than four years ago when the leader appeared in his dream. He posted a tearful video on his Facebook page wishing for his idol’s recovery from the virus.

    Recently, he went to Toopran, which is his maternal grandmother’s house. Ever since Trump tested positive, Krishna was reported to be suffering from depression and not eating or sleeping properly.

    Despite his family members counselling him that there was nothing to worry about the president’s health, he did not change.

    “He was not having food or proper sleep,” Krishna’s uncle Ashok said.

    He said that Krishna spent about Rs1.4 (14 lacs) to construct the temple for Trump and another 80,000 to see him during his India visit in February.

    “His only dream was to meet Trump, but he left the world without fulfilling it,” another villager said.

    Though villagers used to make fun of him for building the Trump temple, Krishna never took their comments seriously and worshipped and admired the president as his god.

    On several occasions, he had arguments with villagers and made a point that like others pray to Lord Rama, Krishna and Shiva, he offered his prayers to the president of a superpower.

    The follower was popular as ‘Trump Krishna’ and always used to carry Trump’s photograph in his bag. He also always wore a Trump T-shirt.

    Did Trump actually use ‘maga2020!’ as his Twitter password?

    A Dutch security researcher has claimed that he was able to successfully log into US President Donald Trump’s Twitter account last week, by correctly guessing his password: ‘maga2020!’ No surprises there.

    Victor Gevers, an internet security expert at the GDI Foundation and chair of the Dutch Institute for Vulnerability Disclosure, has said that he successfully managed to gain access to the US President’s Twitter account. According to Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant, Gevers wanted to see how strong the President’s online security was.

    Gever’s revealed that the two-factor authentication, which provides extra security to the account having 87 million followers, was disabled, thus allowing him access to the account.

    After logging in, the hacker alerted the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), a unit of Homeland Security, about the security leak. He said he noticed that Trump’s Twitter password was changed shortly after.

    This, however, is not the first time the Dutch hacker succeeded in taking over Donald Trump’s Twitter account. Four years ago, the same hacker with his other two accomplices, jointly managed to access Trump’s account, just a few weeks prior to the US elections. At that time, “Yourefired” was Donald Trump’s Twitter password, claimed the hackers.

    It was reported that Gevers only wanted to raise awareness of the fact that two-factor-authentication should be mandatory for everyone.

    Previously in 2016, Trump’s staff was warned by the hackers that they needed to change the settings of the official accounts. Alex Wall, who was the director of Hillary Clinton’s social media in 2016 and also managed Barack Obama’s official accounts, referred to Trump’s Twitter practises as “insanely irresponsible”.

    However, claims of the Dutch hacker are being treated with extreme skepticism by official sources and security experts. Twitter gave a statement that there’s no evidence to corroborate the claim.

    Additionally, White House press secretary Judd Deere has also denied the claims.

    “This is absolutely not true”, said Deere. “But we don’t comment on security procedures around the President’s social media accounts.”

    One inconsistency with the claim is the fact that Twitter’s requires a strong password to be “at least 10 characters long”, while ‘maga2020!’ password has only nine characters. Additionally, the absence of two-factor-authentication on the Twitter account of the President of a country and the use of weak and simple password seems absurd.

    Trump nominated for Nobel Peace Prize over UAE-Israel peace deal

    United States (US) President Donald Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize over his efforts to broker a deal between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel.

    According to reports, Trump was nominated by Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, who praised the US president’s efforts aimed at resolving conflicts worldwide.

    “For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde told Fox News.

    Tybring-Gjedde, in his nomination letter to the Nobel Committee, said the Trump administration had played a key role in the establishment of relations between the UAE and Israel. “As it is expected, other Middle Eastern countries will follow the footsteps of the UAE, which can be a game-changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity.”

    UAE-ISRAEL PEACE DEAL“

    The UAE and Israel last month declared there would be peace between the two nations, with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin inviting the leader of the Emirates to visit Jerusalem.

    The gesture came as the UAE, after Egypt and Jordan, became the third Arab country to agree to have full ties with Israel.

    Trump took to Twitter to announce the major development.

    At the time, Trump told reporters at the Oval Office that the agreement was “a truly historic moment”. “Now that ice has been broken, I expect more Arab and Muslim countries will follow the UAE,” he said.

    In 2020, there are 318 candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize. Submissions should be made online and all nominees are discussed and then the most worthy and interesting are shortlisted.

    On Sunday, Microsoft said they are “prepared to explore a purchase of TikTok in the United States”.

    This is for the first time that Microsoft has confirmed they are in talks with ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, for the acquisition of the video-sharing platform.

    Microsoft has provided notice of their intent to purchase TikTok service in the countries like the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, which would result in Microsoft owning and operating TikTok services in these markets.

    It is not clear how Microsoft would divide market territories from other areas where TikTok operates, like Europe and Africa.

    The blog post describes the discussions as “preliminary” but addresses privacy concerns, it said the company would “ensure that all private data of TikTok’s American users are transferred to and remains in the United States.

    “To the extent that any such data is currently stored or backed-up outside the United States,” the post continues, “Microsoft would ensure that this data is deleted from servers outside the country after it is transferred.”

    The recent development came after a conversation between Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and President Donald Trump.

    “Microsoft fully appreciates the importance of addressing the President’s concerns. It is committed to acquiring TikTok after the complete security review and providing proper economic benefits to the United States, including the United States Treasury,” says Microsoft.

    The statement further says, “Microsoft wants to acquire TikTok in a matter of weeks, probably before September 15, 2020.”

    Microsoft will not purchase the platform entirely on its own investment but will ask investors to participate in the purchase of the platform.

    Trump interested in buying PIA-owned luxurious New York hotel govt wanted to sell

    United States (US) President Donald Trump had expressed interest in acquiring the Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) Roosevelt Hotel in New York, it was revealed on Wednesday during a meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Privatisation.

    The 19-storey hotel with 1,025 rooms plus allied facilities in New York City, with some of the suites being among the most luxurious available in Manhattan, is considered a valuable property that also carries cultural significance for Pakistan.

    tandingg on the corner of 45th Street and Madison Avenue, in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, the hotel bears a quintessentially American name in honour of former United States (US) President Theodore Roosevelt, who had previously been the governor of New York State.

    According to The News, the managing director of PIA Investments Limited informed the lawmakers that Trump had expressed interest in acquiring the iconic hotel in the past and was “still keen on purchasing it”.

    “The government has tried 10 times to sell the hotel,” he added.

    Briefing the members, Privatisation Minister Muhammad Mian Soomro said the government was not selling the property but rather planning to lease it out or work in a joint venture with the private sector.

    Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif said that the parliament should be taken into confidence over the privatisation matter.

    “We are not against privatisation but we must wait for a better time to get a good price,” Asif added.

    “Don’t make a decision now and instead wait. Right now, neither PIA would be sold nor the hotel.”

    Earlier this month, opposition parties had slammed the ruling party when it was reported that the government is considering selling the Roosevelt Hotel.

    The plan was shelved due to stiff opposition and the coronavirus pandemic.

    In a meeting on July 2, the Cabinet Committee on Privatisation (CCoP) decided that the Roosevelt Hotel would be run under a joint venture with a third party.

    The said hotel was acquired by PIA Investment Limited on lease during the year 1979 with an option to purchase the property. PIA had purchased the hotel against $36.5 million against a demand of $59.5 million by contesting a lawsuit against the owner in 1999. The Interstate Hotel and Resort is managing the Roosevelt Hotel since 1997.
