Abubakar Shak fires back at critics of his British accent

Abubakar Shak’s british accent in ‘Khudsar’ has earned him both praise and criticism but he’s not letting the haters get to him.

During an interview with BBC Asian Network’s Haroon Rasheed, he was asked about becoming a viral sensation. “My first scene, in which I asked about my stepmother, went viral. I didn’t want to use words like ‘My foot,’ as those are used by others. All I did was read the script. I wanted to change, but I was unable to do so. I brought it up to the director as well,” he replied.

Abubakar also talked about his accent: “I grew up in England, so my accent’s a mix of geographically a lot of places like Swansea, Cardiff, London, Glasgow, and Manchester.”

When asked about the criticism to his accent, he replied,
“But even if I was putting on some fake Britisher, why is it bothering you so much,” he asked the trolls.

  • Hasan Raheem clarifies context behind viral shopkeeper assault video

Hasan Raheem clarifies context behind viral shopkeeper assault video

A video of a group of girls aggressively beating a shopkeeper has gone viral on social media, leading many celebrities and citizens to call for their arrest. Today, singer Hasan Raheem released a statement on Instagram, offering background information and clarifying that the women in the video were the victims, not the perpetrators.

“Salam everyone. I would like to clarify a few things from the last video. Some facts have come up after we got accounts from the people who were present there,” Hasan began.

He urged people to be cautious before reacting without context. “It’s very easy to blame someone without understanding the full context. These girls are getting death threats from random people and we need to make sure this situation doesn’t escalate from here,” he added.

Hasan explained that the shopkeeper had been making lewd remarks towards the women, which led to the altercation. “These girls are not the daughters of a lawyer, and this has been confirmed by multiple sources. The shopkeeper referred to them as prostitutes on night duty. You can see him smirking in the video after remarking,” Hasan shared.

He continued, “When the girls questioned him, he retaliated and abused them. The girls shouldn’t have raised their hands on him; they should have called the police. The person speaking in the video has also apologized for not telling the full truth.”

In a second post, Hasan expressed concern about people quickly jumping to conclusions without understanding the full story. “It is so easy to jump on the bandwagon and begin slandering someone,” he said.

“It was not right for them to get physical, but there is a limit to how long one can stay silent in such a situation,” Hasan added. “Women in this country are very aware of their security issues. Learn to take care of your mothers and sisters so they won’t have to take matters into their own hands next time.”

Asian-American Harvard student comes up with hilarious way to raise money for students lab

An Asian American student of the Harvard University, Benjamin Chang, is going viral on social media after he came up with a hilarious way to raise money for the student-led bio-engineering lab: by rowing in a pumpkin.

Chang, who is a senior at Harvard, took help from his friends to purchase a 1500 pound pumpkin, then spent two hours carving it using basic tools like knife and a shovel.

“There’s been so many roadblocks that have happened, and to actually be in the water in a giant pumpkin was so much fun,” Chang revealed to abc7 Chicago.

Chang paddled in the giant pumpkin from the Cambridge side of the river to the Boston side and back. A dozen people donated to the lab in order to get a chance to row in a pumpkin, raising hundreds of dollars for the lab.

“It was also so much fun to let other people try this as well,” Chang responded to the viral videos. “Seeing how excited and how strange of a feeling it was for other people to be inside this pumpkin was just as fun for me as being in it myself.”

  • BTS’s managment to take legal action against fans sending gifts to idol’s homes

BTS’s managment to take legal action against fans sending gifts to idol’s homes

Jab pyar kya tou darna kya? Thora sa ab dar lo.

Korean band BTS’s management BigHit Entertainment has announced that they’re taking legal action against fans who are sending packages directly to the band members homes. The band comprises of seven members: Suga, Jungkook, Namjoon, V, J-Hope, Jimin and Jin.

In a statement released on Weverse, the management said a criminal case was filed against the people and investigations are currently underway:

“Hello. This is BigHit Music. Our company regularly initiates legal proceedings against perpetrators of malicious activities related to BTS, including defamation, personal attacks, sexual harassment, the spread of groundless information, and ill-intentioned criticism. We would like to provide an update on these important activities. During this quarter, we filed multiple criminal complaints with law enforcement agencies based on evidence related to acts infringing on the rights of the artists, including defamation, submitted by our fans as well as collected through our own monitoring.”

The statement shared details of some of the packages the fans had sent to the singers homes, which were directly causing harm to their family members.

“In particular, we gathered ongoing evidence regarding individuals who repeatedly sent mails and packages to the artists’ residences, even causing harm to the artists’ families, and filed criminal complaints against them on charges of violating laws regarding stalking crimes (Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking). The court has issued an interim restraining order, and a prosecutor’s investigation is underway. We remain committed to an upcompromising, zero-tolerance policy in addressing stalking crimes that infringe on the privacy and safety of our artists.”

“A decision was handed down in the second quarter of 2022 declaring a non-suit and halting the investigations against some of the suspects, and we filed objections and requested reinvestigation of these cases. As a result, through prosecution referrals, the suspects were ultimately found guilty of personal attacks and defamation against the artists, and legal penalties were imposed.”

Ending the note, the management requested for the fans to cooperate with them in this investigation.
