‘Assumed I would be an item girl’: Alizeh Shah offered item number after viral smoking video

Pakistani Actor Alizeh Shah has recently opened up in an interview about her smoking video that went viral on social media in which she was smoking a cigarette. She said that she was also offered an item song after her video went viral.

While talking to Journalist Maliha Rehman, Shah said that she was hesitent to meet her and she does not like interviews.

Shah talked about many projects, future projects and her work in famous projects like Ehd-e-Wafa and actor Mahira Khan’s film Superstar. But she also opened up to Maliha about her controversies, saying: “It’s not fair, but that’s how it is. That’s why you and I are sitting here, right?”

“I remember shooting in a mall for my first big project, Kun Fayakun, opposite Imran Abbas, and these girls came up to me and they were so excited. One of them had an entire photo album in her cellphone with my pictures. I was amazed. They hadn’t seen my acting but they knew me from Instagram. I think I had a really small following of about 300,000 at the time.”

Continuing, Shah went on to say: “There have been times when little girls come up to me and they’re just transfixed. And older women who watch dramas really love me. I’m their favourite!”

While talking about a recent Twitter video controversy, which showed Alizeh smoking in a car, Alizeh said: “Do you know I was with my family in that car? If my family does not have any issues, who are these nameless, faceless people on social media who decide to judge me?”

On a question that why does she not address the issue? She elaborated: “I have realised that it’s wiser to stay quiet. Often, when a woman takes a stand and decides to defend herself, people make life even more difficult for her. It’s easier for me to just disconnect from social media. I know that controversies don’t last for longer than two days and, after that, these very people will be watching my drama and getting excited about it.”

She further revealed: “You know, I even got offered an item song right after that video got leaked? One video with a cigarette in it and it was assumed that I was ready to be an item girl! The song had some crazy lyrics, about kalashnikovs for eyes. My friends and I were in hysterics when we heard it!”

Shah was even attacked by some people from the entertainment industry when she had a feud with her drama’s co-actor and producer Yasir Nawaz. Netizens even lambasted the actor for having a tattoo.

  • Umpire signals wide with his legs, video goes viral

Umpire signals wide with his legs, video goes viral

A video of an umpire has gone viral on social media in which he can be seen signalling wide with his legs.

Taking to Twitter, former English cricketer Michael Vaughn shared the video, saying: “Surely we need to see this chap join the ICC Elite panel.”

A Twitter user also shared another video of the same umpire under Vaughn’s tweet in which he is signalling for a boundary.

In Maharashtra’s Purandar Premier League 2021, when a bowler bowled a wide delivery, the umpire left everyone in splits with his extremely unique way of signalling. Contrary to the normal way of giving the ‘wide’ decision by stretching the arms, the umpire did something extremely outrageous. He turned back, performed a headstand and stretched his legs instead to make the signal.

The players on the field were also captured laughing as it was something that was probably happening on the field of cricket for the first time ever. “Yeh kya kar diya! Yeh wide ka style dekhiye, yeh bhi kamaal kar rahe hai, inka bhi naya andaaz hai. (What did he do? Look at this style of giving a wide. He is doing wonders, he has invented a new style),” the commentators said while describing the incident.

The umpire eventually made sure that he would get up and make the wide signal with his hands as well so that everyone gets to know what the decision was.

Video: Wasim Akram imitates Imran Khan in a hilarious throwback story

Recalling an old incident with Imran Khan, Wasim Akram shared a story about the current Prime Minister of Pakistan. The former left-arm veteran fast bowler often narrates hilarious incidents about PM Khan whenever he appears on television.

Akram, who is currently doing a sports transmission on A Sports, recalled a hilarious incident from Pakistan’s tour to West Indies in the 1980s. Although, the 1992 world cup winning captain was one of the finest bowlers of his time, he had an off-day against the Caribbean.

According to Wasim, the former captain was smashed for plenty of runs in his eight over bowling spell.

“When the team went to practice the next day, Imran Khan saw the bowling figures on the scoreboard and stopped,” Akram said. Imitating PM Khan, Akram added that the skipper then asked Zakir Khan to remove the bowling figures from the scoreboard.

The Sultan of swing was talking about the fourth one-day international of the 1988 series between Pakistan and West Indies. The Pakistan cricket team batted first and scored 271 runs in 43 overs. The Caribbean chased down the target in the 41st over with 7 wickets in hand. Imran Khan was the most expensive bowler as he conceded 76 runs in his 8 overs.

This is not the first time that the former speedster has imitated anyone. Earlier, he also copied Haris Rauf from an incident in which he was being interviewed by Indian cricket host Anjum Chopra and she was speaking difficult Hindi with him. Haris was given Player of the match award for his prolific spell against the New Zealand team and he was finding it difficult to understand her, making weird expressions.

Wasim imitated Rauf while host Fakhr-e-Alam was speaking Hindi for him. Have a look:
