‘Pakistan, My Home’: Canadian vlogger Rosie Gabrielle expresses love for Pakistan

Canadian vlogger Rosie Gabrielle has shared a special note on the occasion of Pakistan Resolution Day to express her love for her new “home”.

In a detailed note posted on Instagram, Gabrielle, who earlier converted to Islam said: “Two and a half years ago, I left my home in Canada to embark on a journey of a lifetime. Little did I know then, my trip across Pakistan would forever change me in so many ways.”

“I didn’t choose to come here, Pakistan chose me,” said Gabrielle, adding: “In 2018, I surrendered to the universe and said ‘Okay God, it’s up to you, where am I going next?’”

The vlogger then shared that a few days later she got an invitation to visit Pakistan for a short media tour.

“I’m not much of a ‘Group Traveller’ but took this as a divine invitation for something bigger and made my own trip after,” said Gabrielle. “I had always wanted to explore Pakistan so I gladly accepted. I didn’t know then that this trip would change my life.”

“All I knew is, I wanted to travel the entire country by bike and document my experiences. I didn’t know at that time if it was even logistically possible, or know much about the country,” said Rosie.

The vlogger further said that she knew she could “forever make a positive impact for Pakistan by showing the true hearts of the people and land here.”

“It was my destiny and my calling. I didn’t know how I would, I just knew I would and the will of my heart lead the way,” she shared. “For over two years now I have dedicated my heart, soul and all my energy to promoting peace and a positive change for this nation.”

Rosie, in her note, also talked about Adeel Amer, a Pakistani travel vlogger, who she recently got married to. The couple tied the knot earlier this month.

“I not only fell in love with the land [but also] the people. I’m humbly grateful every day for meeting the love of my life Adeel Amer, the most inspiring (this word does not do justice) human I know and finally able to call this beautiful country my HOME,” said Gabrielle.

Rosie first visited Pakistan in December 2018. She had extensively documented her trip on social media.

Titled Chaar Darkht, the song is a humorous tribute to the four trees Pakistan lost in the Balakot airstrike. He sings about fantastic tea and fallen trees while gyrating in a forest in the video.

“This is our celebration of Pakistan’s Peace Gesture, Diplomacy, and Goodwill. We will celebrate it as Fantastic Tea Day, where we stand by our decision of returning Wing Commander Abhinandan and averting a nuclear confrontation,” said the rapper.

He also mentioned having a lot of respect for men in uniform, regardless of which side of the border they were on.

“We have all the respect for armed personnel from any country, who risk their lives for the security and prosperity of their nations; whether they’re from Pakistan or not,” he added, reiterating that returning a captured pilot and encouraging peace was a sign of courage and victory on his country’s end.

“While war-mongering media outlets may think of this as our weakness, we perceive it as our strength, henceforth we now celebrate 27th Feb as ‘Fantastic Tea Day’.”

Soon after the song released, appreciation poured in for the rapper on social media.

Meanwhile, hashtags like #HappyAirStrikeDayIndia, #BalakotAirStrike, #Abhinandan and #SurpriseDay are trending on Twitter Pakistan. Australian journalist, Dennis also jumped in on the occasion and is celebrating the World’s Biggest Tea Party.

In February 2019, Indian Air Force (IAF) Wing Commander Abhinandan, who was captured by Pakistan after his MiG 21 Bison aircraft was shot down by a Pakistan Air Force jet, was handed back to his country as a gesture of peace at the Wagha Border.

A video was then released by Inter-Services Public Relations showed the officer conversing with military officials in a congenial environment and acknowledging that he has been treated well. “I hope you like the tea?” a Pakistani officer had asked him, to which Abhinandan replied that: “The tea is fantastic, thank you.”

Pakistan was hailed across the world for demonstrating responsible behaviour and averting a nuclear confrontation.

Hania Aamir: first a vlogger now a TikToker?

Hania Aamir, in a video posted to her YouTube channel, has announced that she will now be making TikTok videos as she is obsessed with them.

The first video that she tried making involved her entering the car from one door and exiting from the other. When she exits the second door, her clothes change.

The second and third videos involved her indulging in tricks in which she instantly changed her clothes and shoes.

While Hania’s initial TikTok videos were viral challenges, she wanted to make some original content so she decided to make a video in which she plays the double-role of a mother and daughter. As the daughter enters the house, apparently from a late-night party, the mother waits for her with a slipper in her hand. The daughter runs to her room to dodge the slipper but the slipper follows her to the room and starts banging on the door.

Once the banging stops, the daughter thinks she is safe but immediately the slipper hits her head and her outfit changes and she turns into a girl who does house chores.

Ending the video, Hania asked her followers to rate her TikTok videos by commenting ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’.

  • Aviation vlogger Noel Philips shares experience of travelling on ‘banned’ PIA

Aviation vlogger Noel Philips shares experience of travelling on ‘banned’ PIA

Travel expert and aviation vlogger, Noel Philips, recently released a vlog, sharing his experience of travelling on Pakistan International Airline (PIA) that is now banned in Europe and the United States (US) after it was revealed by the aviation minister that a large number of commercial pilots hold fake licenses.

Noel shared his experience in a video titled ‘Flying a banned airline – Pakistan International Airline‘.

Phillips said he was quite surprised after “seeing so many people with so much excess baggage”. As he entered the plane, he was welcomed and guided to his seat by a PIA official.

He then shared that a few passengers were shouting on flight attendants.

“Most of the customers are onboard and a few people are on wrong seats and we’ve got passengers shouting at flight attendants and things, flight attendants running around with bits of paper in the hands.”

Because of the chaos, the flight took off half an hour later than the scheduled time.

Phillips said he liked the food served on his flight.

Sharing the cons, he said he was shocked to see garbage under the seats after he pushed his seat back. He further said that when he laid down to take some rest, he was woken up by “the unmistakable smell of cigarette smoke.”

“Passengers are strictly prohibited from smoking onboard PIA flights. I mean, there is a sign and everything and I am sure that not a single member of the crew or passengers would ever want to bend those rules, not on PIA surely.”

Phillips, who flew from India to Islamabad, said that he liked the capital’s scenic views, the hospitality of Pakistani people and masala curries.

He wanted to share what people think about PIA through his vlog and was of the opinion that even a little amount of investment can improve the airlines.

“And I really do think that given a little bit of investment in their aircraft, PIA could be up there with some of the best airlines,” he said while signing off.

According to the Youtuber, these people even threatened her to kidnap her son or involve her in a legal case from which she would never be able to get out.
