Ace producer Shazia Wajahat, whose ongoing drama Raqs e Bismil is currently making waves on television, celebrated her birthday on Sunday at the beach with colleagues, friends and family.
The beachside party was hosted by her husband director Wajahat Rauf. Celebrities including Hania Aamir, Ali Rehman Khan, Fahad Mirza, Dananeerr Mobeen, Yasir Hussain, Iqra Aziz, Urwa Hocane, Imran Ashraf, Shahzad Sheikh, Momin Saqib and many others were spotted at the birthday event.
Meanwhile, Wajahat penned a sweet note for his wife, saying: “Happy birthday to the love of my life. You not only won my heart 25 years ago, but you have a gift of winning over whoever you meet.”
“I don’t blame them, how can you not love this woman?,” he added.
It’s a wrap for Wajahat Rauf’s upcoming fourth film, Parde Mein Rehne Do and the ‘Pawri Girl’ was spotted on the sets.
Taking to Instagram, Rauf shared a video featuring Dananeerr Mobeen with her viral ‘Pawri Ho Rai Hai’ meme. “And It’s a wrap for our 4th film. Thank you Dananeerr for visiting our set and lighting it up. A big thank you to our cast and Team Showcase for giving it your sweat and blood to this labour of love we call Parde Mein Rehne Do,” he wrote.
Dananeer was heard saying, “Ye mein houn, ye hamara set hai or yahan pawri ho rahi hai” (this is me, this is our set and this is our party going on).
Rauf’s wife and the co-producer of the film, Shazia Wajahat also took to Instagram, sharing the same video and another video while celebrating with firecrackers, she wrote: “Alhamdullilah it’s a wrap for our 4th movie, Parde Main Rehnay Do.”
“A big shout out to our amazing and talented cast and the most hardworking crew of Showcase Films… Our Dop Asrad Khan @asradkhan the best and camera team. MashAllah, it was a smooth journey thanks to Allah and to everyone who was involved in this project. Great teamwork always pays off,” she added.
She also thanked Mobeen for the shoutout she gave.
Tagging her husband she said: “Wajahat here’s to many more together Inshallah.”
She also tagged the cast and crew of the film including Hania Aamir, Ali Rehman Khan, Javed Sheikh, Saife Hasan, Noor ul Hassan, Hassan Raza, Sadia Faisal, Sonia Nazir, Munib Nawaz and Dananeer.
The film was announced last year, and the shooting for the film was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic. With Ali and Hania featuring as lead roles, the film was expected to release last year.
The film is produced under the banner of Rauf’s Showcase Films. The release date of the film has not been announced yet.
Earlier, Mobeen also helped the struggling Aashir Wajahat, to make the ‘Pawri Ho Rai Hai’ meme video. She was also seen in a star-studded video of Yasir Hussain, Iqra Aziz, Azfar Rehman, Wajahat, Shazia, Saife Hasan and Mehwish Hayat.
You can always count on Hania Aamir to have the most exciting birthday bash ever. After last year’s ‘Stranger Things’-themed party, this year the actor went low-key with an intimate bash with her closest friends from the industry.
Shazia and Wajahat Hussain hosted the party for Hania at their residence. Pictures from the star-studded celebrations were widely circulated on social media. Those in attendance included Iqra Aziz, Yasir Hussain, Ali Rehman Khan, Aashir Wajahat, Farhan Saeed, Shehzad Sheikh and his wife Hina Mir, Imran Ashraf, Danyal Zafar, Ali Ansari, Azam Khan, Walid Siddiqui and Mariam Ansari and husband Owais Khan.
The gang-rape of a woman on the Lahore-Sialkot motorway has sparked nationwide outrage, with countless protests being organised across the country to demand justice for the victim and safe space for women in the country. Members of the Pakistani Entertainment Industry also took the initiative of organising a peaceful protest outside the Karachi Press Club to raise their voice on the matter and give it more momentum.
Among those present at the occasion was Mahira Khan, Sarah Khan, Ayesha Omar, Adnan Siddiqui, Ali Rehman Khan, Aijaz Aslam, Frieha Altaf, Bushra Ansari, Sarwat Gilani, Yasir Hussain, Asim Jofa, Anoushey Abbasi and Gul-e-Rana.
Sharing pictures from the event, Mahira said: “We demand a secure nation for all women! At home, on the streets, at work, alone, not alone, with kids, without kids, in a skirt or in a burkha. Wherever she may be, whoever she may be – we demand basic rights of safety.”
Holding a placard, which read “Real men don’t rape”, Sarah Khan said: “No mercy for rapists.”
Sarwat Gilani said that the entertainment fraternity came out to “demand justice and security for our women and children”. Sarwat also lauded Prime Minister Imran Khan’s decision to punish rapists with castration — the process of removal of testicles of a man.
We stand together as one voice,” said Ali Rehman. “One voice to demand the protection of our women, children and transgenders. One voice to demand their freedom. “We stand together.”
Aijaz Aslam held a placard which read: “Stop rape”.
Mansha Pasha said she stepped out after a long time to “join a protest and speak about the state of women’s safety in Pakistan and the fact that there is none.”
“We aren’t safe on the street, at work or even in our homes,” she added.
“Rape happens because of: 1) Rapist; 2) Failure of law enforcement agencies,” asserted Mansha.
Yasir Hussain and Adnan Siddiqui addressed the protesters gathered at the venue.
Bushra Ansari stood by her earlier stance, saying that hanging the rapist is not enough.
According to details, the protest was organised by Yasir Hussain, Frieha Altaf and Asim Jofa.
Meanwhile, some social media users are criticising the actors for holding a separate protest instead of attending the main one organised by the Aurat March.
Glad to see that celebrities protested today but it would be more helpful to have consolidated efforts. A massive protest took place on Saturday outside Karachi Press Club. Celebrities should’ve thrown their weight behind that instead of keeping a separate protest for themselves
I really want to believe their hearts are in the right place, but wtf? This is cringe-worthy. And can someone explain why the celebrities felt the need to have their own protest against #motorwayincident vs getting more support for the first one? pic.twitter.com/Ezjwpu2opU
Sarwat later clarified that a second protest was held because “a lot of celebrities were busy with work on the first protest’s date, [so] we decided to get out a day when most of us were available.”
Yasir Hussain’s criticism of QMobile appointing Esra Bilgiç as their brand ambassador has left the entertainment industry divided once again. While some actors have seconded Yasir’s opinion, others have said that it’s not a big deal and international artists should be welcome in Pakistan.
Yasir’s comments were met with a barrage of hate and threats from Diriliş: Ertuğrul fans, some of which went out of control. Following the hate and online bullying, several of Yasir’s colleagues including Ayesha Omar, Wajahat Rauf, Armeena Khan and Yashma Gill stepped in to defend the actor and urged people to respect each other’s opinions.
While Ayesha was of the opinion that we should welcome foreign stars into the country, she said that she did not understand why actors have to be bullied for their opinions.
“One can disagree respectfully and have healthy debates and discussions,” said Ayesha.
I would love for foreign stars to be endorsing our brands & vice versa. It’ll benefit the brands also, by making them popular internationally. Waiting to welcome them in our country, like we have been in different parts of the world. Let’s mingle, collaborate and create! ⭐️ ⚡️
And also, I don’t understand why stars, artists and public figures are bullied and hated for having an opinion and holding their own stance. One can disagree respectfully and have healthy debates and discussions. One can educate with compassion. We are all human after all.
Yashma penned a detail note on her thoughts and said that she never found Yasir’s posts to be offensive.
“It‘s completely okay for people to have different opinions,” said Yashma. “I don’t think any actor/influencer tries to impose their opinion on anyone. In fact, what they try to achieve is some logical brainstorming. And try to help the society by challenging some biases, stereotypes and taboos because they truly want to use their platforms for the best reasons possible.”
and it‘s completely okay for people to have different opinions plus I understand that public figures have platforms that are accessible to everyone so all sorts of reactions are expected but there’s always a WAY of directing your message across

Chhalawa and Karachi Se Lahore director Wajahat Rauf has revealed that he had COVID-19 for 31 days.
In an Instagram post, Rauf said “Corona fell in love with me for 31 days and just wouldn’t let go. It was probably the longest one-sided affair I’ve had in my life. But she didn’t love me all the way hence I had mild symptoms only.”
The director said that he isolated himself for the whole time and “didn’t tell anyone as haven’t met anyone in 45 days and didn’t want the attention for the wrong reasons. But I’m cool with seeking attention now.”
Rauf also thanked those who helped him in this testing time, namely his wife Shazia Wajahat and their sons.
“A big thank you to Shazia Wajahat for taking such good care of me, my sons for keeping me entertained from a distance and immediate family for their prayers.”
Summing up his experience, Rauf said: “The only real advice I can give you is, don’t panic! I know it sounds a lot worse when the PM says it.”
Rauf had been shooting his upcoming film Parde Main Rehnay Do with Ali Rehman Khan and Hania Aamir when the coronavirus situation in Pakistan took a turn for the worse and a lockdown was imposed in the country. Consequently, the shooting of the film was postponed.
Acclaimed director Wajahat Rauf has started shooting his fourth film with Ali Rehman Khan and Hania Aamir. The film titled Pardey Main Rehnay Do will be the duo’s second outing – they both first appeared together in Janaan as siblings.
Rauf and his wife Shazia Wajahat shared pictures from their first day on the sets of the film.

According the director, the film is based on “a social issue which has been dealt with in a light way.”
Meanwhile, the film has had its fair share of challenges. It was initially reported to be directed by Mohsin Ali of Chupan Chupai fame, who has also penned the script, and Ahsan Khan was on board as the male lead. However, the script ended up with Rauf who selected Sheheryar Munawar as his lead. Munawar later backed out of the project due to unknown reasons and Ali ended up replacing him.
Pardey Main Rehnay Do is being produced by Rauf, under the banner of his production house Showcase Productions along with Zayed Sheikh. It is scheduled to release sometime in 2020.
