‘Zaka Ashraf Sahab Apnay Kaam Say Kaam Rakhein’; Twitter loves Shahid Afridi’s statement

Former Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi has lashed out at the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Zaka Ashraf, while talking in program Zor Ka Jor on Samaa TV.

Shahid Afridi criticized PCB management committee for mishandling cricket affairs amid the Men in Green’s below-par performance in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023.

Afridi believes that Ashraf should focus on his job rather than giving pointless statements.

“Zaka Ashraf is the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, not of a club. I’m surprised why is he calling owners of media houses about people who are talking against him,” Afridi said.

“For God’s sake, you are the chairman, just deliver results and do your job. People are only talking about you because you are giving them this opportunity. Zaka Ashraf Sahab, stick to what you are supposed to do. The team is playing a World Cup and you are giving one statement after the other. Sometimes it is about Babar and sometimes it is about someone else,” he added.

Social Media users took to X (formerly Twitter) and supported Shahid Afridi’s statement.

Senior Editor, ESPNCricinfo, Osman Samiuddin tweeted, “Don’t hold board elex, throw own team under bus, leak whatsapp messages from captain, live for junkets & photo ops, be in charge of absolute clown admin, get away with all of it.”

Aspiring Cricket analyst Syed Ali Imran tweeted, “Media houses kay owners ko phone? Shahid Afridi hits back at Zaka Ashraf who most probably exerted pressure on him via Aleem Khan owner of SAMAA TV.”

Farid Khan, COO CricketRPlus tweeted, “Shahid Afridi grills PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf once again! What a statement by Lala “

X user Maham Gillani tweeted, “A very clear message from Shahid Afridi to Zaka Ashraf. Lala is always behind Babar Azam. Off the field sixer from Boom Boom Afridi.”

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials leaked Babar Azam’s private whatsapp chat on a live show on ARY NEWS hosted by Waseem Badami, leading to a storm of condemnation.

Former wicket-keeper Rashid Latif claimed on Saturday that Babar Azam is calling PCB’s senior officials but they are ignoring his messages. However PCB’s Chairman Zaka Ashraf denied these allegations and said, “Rashid Latif’s statement was wrong, which is regrettable, I think it is also part of an agenda”.

During the show on ARY NEWS, Shoaib Jutt showed a screenshot of Babar and PCB official Salman Naseer’s chat on live show.

In the chat, Salman Naseer asks Babar on Whatsapp chat, “Babar there is also been this news circulating on TV and social media that you have been calling chairman and he isn’t answering, did you called him recently?”

The screenshot showed that Babar Azam replied, “Salam Salman sir. Mene to sir ko koi call nai ki.”

Azhar Ali then remarked, “Has he (Salman Naseer) gotten permission from Babar Azam before forwarding to this chat to him (Shoaib Jutt), and to show this chat on live show, I think you have to get permission from Babar before showing this on live show”.

To this Shoaib Jutt replied, “I don’t think we need to ask Babar Azam. We are journalists, it is our job to show whatever we have. [Mujhay nahin lagta ke mujhay Babar Azam se pochna chaiay tha. Hum journalist hein, hamara to kaam hee yehi hai, jo mile us ko dikha dein]”

Social media in Pakistan and India reacted uproariously, with many senior journalists too slamming the incident. PCB is being slammed for leaking a private chat.

Later on in the night, Badami released a video message in which he apologized, saying the decision was “not an ideal one”.

National former cricketer Waqar Younis slammed this act.

‘Depression ki aakhri hadd pe hoon, soch raha hun apnay khilaaf koyi faisla kar loon’: Sheikh Rasheed

Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has said that he has gone into depression after witnessing the situation of his constituency.

“The conditions are so bad in my constituency that I am thinking from the past two to three days that I should make a big decision. I am thinking of making a decision against myself. I can not bear to see any of this. I am at the extreme end of my depression, I can do anything,” said Rasheed while speaking in ARY News programme, 11th Hour.

Speaking with journalist Waseem Badami, Rasheed said, “I am sorry to say, I love our army and our institutions but this is the first time I have disassociated myself from them. I am not in a position to tell them that whatever is happening, it is need of the hour that the respect and dignity of the institutions do not get insulted.”

“I am saying this with a lot of honesty, no one will be able to stop this fire. Neither Imran Khan will be able to stop it nor Sheikh Rasheed. The army will get respect in abundance, if they conduct fair and free elections and give power to the one winning the elections,” stated Rasheed.

Badami interjected and asked, “So you think this hasn’t happened before? “Not in my opinion”, responded Rasheed.

Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed on Monday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has been told by a palmist that there was a big rock that was going to fall on Khan but it fell on Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif instead.

He made these revelations on ARY News in Waseem Badami’s programme 11th Hour.

Rasheed said that everyone is with Imran Khan so it would be a waste for anyone who stands against him in the elections.

Talking about his audio leak, Rasheed said since childhood, his [Sheikh] messages and tapes have been going viral.

He said that after the PTI swept Punjab by-polls, he received messages from top bureaucrats for the first time addressing him as ‘respected sir’.

During the show, he further revealed that Imran Khan has planned to do a tour of Sindh, especially the interior side of the province.

Rasheed again stressed that he is of the view that they should be friends with the establishment. He said that Imran Khan has said that we will not talk against the establishment anymore and have to focus on the elections.

Appearing on the same programme on Tuesday, former federal minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry agreed with Rasheed’s statement and said that they will not talk against the establishment. “We will try to normalise things in the future”, he added.

‘Wo uskay talway chatay’: Nadia Hussain blasts Sadaf Kanwal

Actor and model Nadia Hussain appeared on Waseem Badami’s show Har Lamha Purjosh for the Masoomana Sawal segment.

On being asked about her statement on the show Hamare Mehman about societal gender roles especially in a marriage, Nadia clarified her context.

She stated in the interview that “It’s not my responsibility to look after my husband and his things. He’s not my child whom I have to look after all the time, he’s my life partner. To demand and to expect that a woman whom you’ll marry will serve you with everything and will be responsible for all your work is totally wrong.”

“I will never raise my children like that,” adding, “Why women are expected to do chores after coming from work?”

Earlier in August 2021, she said that the society’s expectation from a woman to serve and cater her husband is wrong because her husband is her partner and not her child. The Benaam diva added that she is not raising her children the way society functions.

The Noor Bano actor concluded her stance by stating, “A woman should have a right to divorce. My father-in-law told my mother about the clause -18 in Nikkah papers, in which a girl has a right to divorce. It is generally crossed in papers, but my father-in-law made sure to uncross that section.”

When the host asked her about Sadaf Kanwal’s recent remarks over gender roles in marriage. Nadia criticised her and said that she has a problem with Sadaf’s comment because she used the phrase, “Yeh humara culture hai”.

She even said that “Beshaq wo uske jhootay uthaye yaan uskay talway chatay, mujhe kya farq parta hai?”

Sadaf Kanwal and Shahroz Sabzwari appeared on ARY’s Hamary Mehmaan. The Alif actress was asked about her take on equality in marriage, to which she answered that ‘Mard ka darja upar hai, wo kamata hai, khilata hai, bachon ka khayal rakhta hai’.

She added that, ‘Mujhe Sherry ka zyada pata hona chahiye’, because she’s the wife.

She said, “Maine to iska reply hi nahi kia, isko bilkul ignore kia.”

She added, “You are very creepy, cheapness isi liye ki thi takay koi response aye but ap abhi us level pe nahi aye.”

Shah earlier expressed her annoyance over being constantly berated by her mother for not getting married, saying that it is part of Pakistani culture for mothers to constantly remind a single woman to get married.

“This happens only in this country. If you are not married your mother will remind you every day. Shaadi kerlo shaadi kerlo nhi kerne shaadi bhai maaf kerdo Jaan chordo (Get married, get married. I don’t want to get married. Let me be),” the actor had written tempestuously.

He also urged the actress to leave this country, if she has so much problem with it.
