Rizwan gifted shoes to young player when he bowled him out

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Muhammad Rizwan gifted his spiked shoes to a young player when he bowled him out during a practice session ahead of the Pakistan-England Test series.

In a video —which has been trending on social media—the young man said that Rizwan told the younger players that whoever gets his wicket, will be given a gift.

The man said that he got Rizwan’s wicket and was later gifted a pair of shoes by him.

This is not the first time that Rizwan has been generous. Earlier, he gifted his jersey to an Indian doctor who cured him when his health deteriorated during T20 World Cup 2020.

Last month, the wicketkeeper completed 2500 runs in T20Is and became only the third Pakistani after Muhammad Hafeez and Babar Azam to do so.

Rizwan will be seen in action during Pakistan’s upcoming Test series against England in December. The first match of the series will be played in Rawalpindi.

Pakistan’s wicket-keeper-batter and captain of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans has requested his fans to remember the team in their prayers as they are set to face Lahore Qalandars in the Qualifier match of PSL on Wednesday at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Our team and management are playing with unity and rest everyone knows that the result is from Allah. As far as your prayers are with us, Insha Allah, good results will come.”

Rizwan-led Sultans look unstoppable in the tournament. They have won nine out of 10 matches and finished the league stage on the top with 18 points, the most ever by any team in the league stage of the tournament.

The side is, however, likely to miss the services of Tim David today after he tested positive for Covid-19.

A video clip from a match between Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans has been circulating on social media in which Sultans’ captain Mohammad Rizwan can be seen diving to catch the bowl but he ended up colliding with pacer Shahnawaz Dahani. Though the catch was safely taken by Dahani, netizens cannot stop praising both Rizwan and the 23-year-old speedster for their dedication and perfection.

In the video, we see Kamran Akmal hitting the ball in the air off Blessing Muzarabani’s bowling. The wicket-keeper-batter and the pacer were both getting under it to take the catch.

Even the Sultans’ all-rounder Khushdil Shah shared the video on Twitter and said that he loved the reaction of Dahani after catching the ball.

One of the users termed Sultans as the “cutest team to exist”.

One user said: “Really loved the reaction of Rizwan, many could have lost it at that moment but he showed once again why he is a very good leader.”

While former cricketer Azhar Mahmood’s wife Ebba Qureshi said that she can watch this video on loop.

Multan took their unbeaten streak to six wins from as many games by securing a 42-run win over Peshawar Zalmi in Lahore.

Meanwhile, it is pertinent to mention here that Sultans became the first team to qualify for the play-offs in the ongoing seventh edition of the PSL.

The defending champions kicked off their PSL 7 campaign from where they left last season, and till now they are the only team to have defended successfully. They are comfortably sitting at the top of the table with 12 points.

The Sultans’ players also took to Twitter to celebrate their sixth consecutive win in the league.

Sarfaraz Ahmed doesn’t want Shadab Khan to dismiss him in PSL encounter today, Shadab reacts

The communication manager of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ibrahim Badees has recently shared that Shadab Khan has never dismissed Sarfaraz Ahmed in the history of Pakistan Super League (PSL). The former captain does not want the all-rounder Khan to dismiss him in today’s clash between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United.

Taking to Twitter, Badees wrote: “Shadab Khan has never dismissed Sarfaraz Ahmed in the history of HBL PSL. Can the leggie make it today?” Replying to the tweet, Sarfaraz said: “Same he rahne den plz In Shaa Allah. (Let it be the same please.)”

While Shadab joking replied to Sarfaraz and said: “Kaptan Chalo Allah kary same he rahy laken hum match jeet jain. (Captain, I hope it remains the same but wish that we win today)”.

Islamabad United currently finds itself at the number two position with one win in two matches. Despite losing the second game, they are confident of winning the third match on Thursday.

Quetta Gladiators, too, is coming off a defeat at the hands of the Multan Sultans. They currently have one victory in two games and, thus, finds itself at number three on the table.

‘Fixer’: Sarfaraz Ahmed takes a dig at Salman Butt

Former captain of Pakistan cricket team Sarfaraz Ahmed responded to former cricketer Salman Butt’s criticism by calling him a ‘fixer’.

Following Quetta Gladiators’ defeat against Multan Sultans in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), Butt heavily criticised Sarfaraz and his behaviour towards players. During the course of the game, the Gladiators’ skipper was seen lashing out at his bowlers in the crunch moments of the game.

This didn’t go down well with Butt as he questioned Sarfaraz’s performance in the recent past. He even said that the wicket-keeper must focus on his performance and leave other players alone.

Taking to Twitter, Sarfaraz said: “Pakistan ko on duty beachne wala fixer jub niyat pe bhashan dega phir to Allah he Hafiz hai. (If the one who sold Pakistan on duty is giving lectures, then only God can protect) #justsaying.”

For the unversed, Butt, alongside Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir, was found guilty of spot-fixing during the Lord’s Test in 2010. Butt was leading Pakistan in the game and faced massive backlash for his disgraceful actions. The trio was subsequently banned and their career came to a standstill. While Amir did manage to make a comeback in 2016, Butt and Asif couldn’t do so.

Shadab Khan admits he provoked Sarfaraz Ahmed to scold cricketers on field

Pakistan’s all-rounder Shadab Khan has recently admitted in an interview that he used to provoke former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed to scold cricketers when they were fielding.

Shadab recently appeared on Hum News’ Morning Show and talking about his favourite captain Sarfaraz, he shared: “He (Sarfaraz) used to get angry during the field. Not only on Babar but any player who did not put effort in the field, I used to go to Saifi Bhai (Sarfaraz) as I mostly fielded beside him and tell him to scold the players.”

Wicket-keeper-batter Sarfaraz is famous for his temper. But the right-handed batter had earlier defended his actions, stating that what happens on the field is restricted to it and not beyond that.
