    Mohammad Rizwan reveals why he avoids taking pictures with girls

    Pakistan’s wicket-keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has recently revealed why he avoids taking pictures with girls.

    A video of Rizwan’s interview is doing the rounds on social media in which the opener is explaining the reason for not taking pictures with his female fans.

    “For me, women are very respectable and I don’t consider myself worthy to take pictures with my mothers or sisters when they ask me to take pictures with them. The standard of these women is very high to me,” he said.

    The cricketer also wished that “my mothers and sisters, who are my fans, would not be angry with me over this act, there are some things I try to do to keep myself safe.”

    There is no doubt that Rizwan had an exceptional year in T20 cricket but during Pakistan vs West Indies second T20I match in December, a female fan of his got attention of social media from the crowd holding a banner saying: “Rizwan please adopt me.”

    She was photographed wearing a green jersey and a huge smile on her face during the match at the National Stadium in Karachi.

    Fans also gushed over Rizwan’s pictures with his pillow on different international tours.

    Pakistani cricketers send warm wishes to Kamran Akmal on birthday

    Former Pakistan wicket-keeper-batter Kamran Akmal is celebrating his birthday today and all Pakistani cricketers are sending him warm wishes on social media.

    The cricketer celebrated his birthday with his family. Posting the pictures on Twitter, Akmal wrote: “Late night birthday surprises are always amazing. Thank you my wife,kids and family for a wonderful birthday surprise!!”

    Several cricketers like Saeed Ajmal, Wahab Riaz, Fawad Alam, Hassan Ali, Ahmad Shahzad and others wished him on Twitter with sweet birthday wishes.

    His brother and batter Umar Akmal also wished his older brother on social media.

    Afghan cricketer Najib Zadran also wished him under his post.

    Akmal made his ODI and Test debuts during Pakistan’s tour of Zimbabwe in 2002 and the cricketer has taken more than 1400 catches behind the stumps and more than 250 stumps. This is the most by any Asian wicket-keeper.

    Kamran Akmal’s poor show in the Sydney Test led to suspicion and allegations of match fixing. In September 2010, the ICC sent an official notice to inform him that he is under investigation for fixing the Sydney Test. However, Kamran was absolved off all charges.

    Akmal also had reservations about his demotion in Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) seventh edition by his franchise Peshawar Zalmi and said that he is “humiliated” but the issues were resolved later and Zalmi cleared that he will “very much be a part” of the franchise, and that he will be playing for the team next season.

    Pakistan cricket team skipper Babar Azam is back on number one position in the T20 Internationals but wicket-keeper-batter and Pakistan’s star opener Mohammad Rizwan has secured third position in the ICC T20I Batting Rankings for the first time in his career.

    Babar is on top with 805 points and England’s David Malan is sharing the spot with him with the same points. While Rizwan is chasing the skipper on the points table with 798 rating.

    Azam reclaimed the top spot in the list for batters after just one week of losing it.

    With scores of 0 and 7 in the first two T20Is against the West Indies, Babar dropped two spots to number 3 in last week’s rankings update. He came roaring back and is now tied at the top of the rankings with Dawid Malan after a brilliant 79 in the final T20I that helped Pakistan complete a clean sweep over West Indies.

    However Rizwan, who has had a tremendous 2021, capped the year by climbing to number 3 in T20I batters’ rankings with career-best ratings of 798. Rizwan was the Player of the Match in the final T20I against West Indies, helping Pakistan chase 208 in less than 19 overs with a brilliant 45-ball 87.

    Australian middle-order batter Marnus Labuschagne topped the table of the ICC Test Player Rankings for batters for the very first time after sensational performances in the two matches of the Ashes so far.

    Meanwhile, Shaheen Shah Afridi retained his third spot in the Test rankings.

    Pakistan’s young all-rounder Shadab Khan recently hosted a question and answer (Q&A) session on Twitter and opened up about several things like his favourite wicket-keeper, talked about his marriage, Pakistan Super League (PSL) and wicket-keeper-batters Sarfaraz Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan.

    Khan hosted the session and asked fans to use the hashtag #AskShadab, and as soon as the clock struck 9pm, Twitterati flooded the cricketer’s timeline with their questions.

    #AskShadab also became the top trend in Pakistan within an hour.

    Fans had several questions about PSL, with a user seeking Khan’s opinion on whether Shaheen Shah Afridi could lead the Lahore Qalandars or not.

    At this, Khan said that Shaheen can “absolutely” lead the Qalandars.

    Abdul Wahab asked which franchise would Khan choose if given the choice. He responded that he would always pick Islamabad United unless they decide to release him.

    Khan also revealed that his favourite captain for the seventh edition of the PSL would be former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed who is playing for Quetta Gladiators.

    A fan asked why did Khan, at times, adopts a rude attitude on the field, “especially with juniors, and in the PSL”.

    At this, Khan said he “never” acted rudely and that juniors were his brothers.

    As everyone at the national team calls Shadab “Shaddy”, a fan asked who started calling him that? He replied: Saifi Bhai (Sarfaraz).

    Journalist Imran Siddique asked Khan why did he still call Sarfaraz “kaptaan” despite him not being in command anymore.

    At this, Khan said that Sarfaraz had taught him how to lead, how to look after his team, how to fight for his country, and his teammates.
    “My teacher will always be my captain,” he said.

    A similar question was asked about Mohammad Rizwan, and in response, Khan termed the wicket-keeper-batter a “champion”.

    He also termed Rizwan as number one wicket-keeper.

    Batsman Sharjeel Khan asked the all-rounder when was he planning to tie the knot. In response, Shadab said: “Sharjeel bhai Aap he baat kaar lain ab number send karta houn” [I am sending you the number Sharjeel bhai. Speak on my behalf]”.

    Khan termed skipper Babar Azam as number one.
