    Daughter kills father for not letting her marry lover

    A 30 year-old-woman in Jhang conspired with her friend to murder her own father in order to clear the way for her to marry the person she had chosen, Samaa has reported.

    After killing her father, Sadia buried his body in their yard with the help of her friend Ashraf. The police in Jhang were able to locate the victim’s body and apprehend the perpetrators. The victim’s seven-year-old son Zulfiqar had reportedly begged the police to capture those responsible for the brutal murder.
    The police have revealed that Ashraf is a known criminal and has been involved in numerous previous cases. Jhang Police Spokesman, Muhammad Aun Raza, has stated that the police conducted an investigation and recovered the body from the yard of the house the daughter lived in, leading to the arrest of Sadia Bibi and her accomplice, Ashraf.

    The family of the deceased has demanded the toughest punishment for the killers.

  • Police arrest five people for ‘sacrificing’ woman in Indian temple

    Indian police have arrested five men accused of conducting a human sacrifice in a temple in Assam. In 2019, the headless body of a woman was found in Guwahati, leading to an investigation.

    Shanti Shaw, 64, was beheaded with a machete at the temple as an “offering” to the temple goddess, police said.

    “The five people planned the killing of the woman,” police commissioner Diganta Barah said while talking to the media on Tuesday. “A total of 12 people took part,” he added.

    He continued by saying, “During investigation, we found this was a case of human sacrifice to please Maa Kamakhya (a Hindu goddess)”. The commissioner added that the alleged ringleader, Pradeep Pathak, 52, had orchestrated the killing as part of a religious rite to mark the anniversary of his brother’s death.

    “The accused apparently believed that the sacrifice would appease the soul of the deceased,” he added.

    Between 2014 and 2021, 103 instances of human sacrifice were reported to India’s National Crime Records Bureau.

    A 26 year old woman named Kajol from Delhi was seen being attacked by her father-in-law on Tuesday morning while she was heading for a job interview. The culprit was against her decision to get a job.

    According to police officials, Kajol wanted to work in order to help her husband Praveen Kumar support their family but the father-in-law was against her decision and wanted her to stay at home.

    According to the released footage which is now going viral on the internet, Kajol can be seen being approached by her father-in-law, who is holding a brick in his hand. When she tried to escape the attack, the father-in-law repeatedly hit her on the head with a brick.

    Kajol was taken by her husband to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where she received 17 stitches on her head.

    Meanwhile, a case has been filed against the father-in-law by Kajol’s parents who live in Faridabad, according to the officials.

    A woman tortured her seven-year-old step-granddaughter to death for allegedly stealing toffees, ARY News has reported.

    The deceased girl could not sustain the injuries she received and lost her life.

    The minor girl was accused of robbing two toffees from a neighborhood store. The shopkeeper’s wife complained to the girl’s step-grandmother after which the woman tortured the child.
    A case was registered by the police over the complaint of the girl’s mother. The accused woman was identified as Hameedan.

    Faisalabad man sentenced to 17 months in jail for posting objectionable photos of woman

    Faisalabad native Majid Zia has been found guilty of sexual harassment and was given a 17-month prison term by a local court on Saturday.

    In addition to the prison term, the judge fined the defendant Rs. 1.5 million.
    The FIA’s Cyber Crime Circle had filed the case against Zia, and under the 2016 Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, the convict was subject to punishment.

    An FIA spokeswoman said that in 2022, Majid posted objectionable images of a woman on social media.

    New Delhi police has arrested arrested 24-year-old Sahil Gahlot on February 14 for murdering his longtime girlfriend Nikki Yadav and stuffing her body in a refrigerator inside his restaurant.
    Gahlot had killed the deceased between February 9 and 10, by strangling her with the phone data cable he kept in his car.
    The murderer and Yadav had been in a relationship since 2018. After the covid-19 lockdown, they began living together in Greater Noida in a rented house. However, Gahlot’s parents were not aware of this relationship, and were pressurizing him to marry another woman. Around December 2022, Gahlot got engaged but did not inform Yadav.
    According to the police, Yadav asked Gahlot to come to her flat in Uttam Nagar where she pleaded with him not to get married to the other woman, and threatened to tell the family if he refused to listen to her.
    “She had already planned to go with him to Goa and had booked tickets for February 9. She asked him to accompany her to Goa but he refused. This led to an argument and in anger, he killed her inside his car,” the officer told Deccan Herald.
    Gahlot tied the knot with the other woman on the same day.
    Special Commissioner of Police Ravindra Singh was able to arrest Gahlot when on February 14, they received a secret tip that Sahil Gahlot murdered his girlfriend and married another woman on the same day.
    When the mobile number of the accused was found to be switched off, a police team arrived at Mitraon village, where the accused lived, but he was there. After an intensive search of the village and other areas, Gahlot was arrested at Kair Village in Delhi.
    During interogation, the officer told Deccan Herald that Gahlot had tried to mislead the police, but then later revealed to them that he had murdered Yadav.

    United States (US) Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced new visa restrictions against the Taliban on Wednesday in response to the Afghan administration’s prohibitions on women’s employment and education.

    “I am taking action today to impose additional visa restrictions on certain current or former Taliban members, members of non-state security groups, and other individuals believed to be responsible for, or complicit in, repressing women and girls in Afghanistan,” Blinken said in a statement.

    The Taliban have put several limitations on Afghan women since regaining power in August 2021, including prohibiting them from holding public office, going to secondary and higher education institutions, or visiting parks.

    They forbade NGOs from working with Afghan women towards the end of December, causing a number of organisations to halt their operations.

    Mike Tyson sued for $5M for allegedly raping a woman in the early ’90s

    A woman is suing Mike Tyson boxer for alleged violently raping her inside a limo after the two met at a popular Albany nightclub in the early 1990s.

    The woman, who has asked courts to keep her name secret, filed the suit in early January under a temporary New York state law allowing victims of sexual assault to seek civil damages regardless of the statute of limitations.

    She is seeking $5 million in damages, stating that she is suffering from physical, psychological and emotional injury since she was assaulted by the boxer.
    She said to the court that she ran into Tyson at a local hotspot then called “Septembers” and later got into his limo after he offered to pick up her friend and take the two of them to a party. She claimed that the boxer immediately started touching her and trying to kiss her.

    “I told him no several times and asked him to stop, but he continued to attack me,” the woman said. “He then pulled my pants off and violently raped me.”
    Tyson spent three years in jail beginning in 1992 after being found guilty of raping model Desiree Washington, who was 18 at the time.
    Tyson, considered one of the greatest in the ring, has consistently ran into trouble during his career.

    It is not clear in the affidavit at which date Tyson allegedly raped the woman, neither is it clear whether Tyson’s driver was inside the car or the car was parked. Meanwhile, the legendary boxer remains tight-lipped and has not commented publicly on the suit.

    A man in India killed a woman with a screwdriver for refusing to talk to him, Khaleej Times has reported. The girl was murdered with a screwdriver in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district after refusing to talk to one of the two suspects detained by the police on Sunday.

    The accused, identified as Shahbaan Khan, was arrested along with his aide Tarbez Khan.

    The police said that the matter was that of a ‘love triangle’.

    According to the police, Shahbaan stabbed Kusum with a screwdriver after she refused to talk to him.

    “Preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused had befriended the victim three years ago and later moved to Ahmedabad (Gujarat) for work. The duo stayed in touch for some time. Later, the girl stopped talking to him.”

    “The accused tried to approach the victim, but she refused to entertain him. Following this, the accused attacked her with a screwdriver and killed her,” the police said.

    A 24-year-old girl in Punjab has married a 50-year-old bus driver for his taste in music. The girl named Shehzadi used to travel to Lahore from Mian Chanu on a bus driven by Sadiq.

    Shehzadi has told YouTuber Basit Ali that she fell for Sadiq because he spoke less, adding that she liked him because he used to listen to old songs.

    The girl added that she used to book the front seat of the bus in advance.

    She said that she confessed her love for Sadiq before he did.
