    Video: Bollywood’s Pankaj Tripathi opens up on banter with Iqra Aziz

    Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi has opened up about his cyber interaction with A-list Pakistani drama actor Iqra Aziz in an interview. The Stree star stated that a fan messaged him about the Raqeeb Se diva’s praise for his acting prowess.

    He was informed by the mutual fan that Iqra is a very famous actress of Pakistan and as a fellow artist he made sure that he responds to her appreciation.

    Taking to her Instagram stories on November 5, Aziz shared a picture of Pankaj Tripathi and wrote, “Hayee Kaleen bhaiya ap mere favourite ho (Oh Kaleen, you are my favourite).”

    But Aziz would’ve never thought her random appreciation would be acknowledged by the Indian actor who also starred in Netflix’s Sacred Games.

    Tripathi responded with an emoticon, a screenshot of which was shared by Aziz on her Instagram stories lately.

    “Pankaj ji replied to me and I can’t believe it!” wrote Aziz on top of the screenshot with several celebratory emoticons.

    Mirzapur’s season 2 recently premiered on Amazon Prime and received a lot of appreciation from the fans. Tripathi plays the leading role of Akhandanand Tripathi aka Kaleen bhaiya in the reknowned Indian show.

    The story revolves around a shocking incident at a wedding procession that ignites a series of events entangling the lives of two families in the lawless city.

    Director Abu Aleeha of Tevar fame called out the industry forces for promoting nepotism, making an obvious reference to debutants Haroon Kadwani and Azaan Sami Khan.

    On tweeted, “The amount of effort put in by TV channels to promote actor Abdullah Kadwani’s son Haroon Kadwani and singer Adnan Sami Khan’s son Azaan Sami Khan should have been spent on NAPA’s talented acting students. To give them the platform they deserve! He urged netizens stop appreciating every teaser that they see.”

    Abdullah Kadwani who is debuting as a lead opposite Kinza Hashmi, Haroon Kadwani’s father, is a well-known producer with projects like Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 as well as the owner of 7th Sky Production Company.

    Meanwhile, actor Azaan Sami Khan starring opposite Sajal Aly and Yumna Zaidi in Ishq-e-Laa is the son of Pakistani actress Zeba Bakhtiar and legendary musician Adnan Sami.

    Also senior actor Naumaan Ijaz’s son Zaviyar is also being signed on by a leading channel for multiple projects despite lukewarm response to his acting debut in Qissa Meherbano Ka.

    The Jhooti star Yasir Hussain stated on Naumaan Ijaz’s show G Sarkar that Turkish industry’s canvas is not bigger than Pakistan’s and cited the example of Esra Bilgic that now she has 6 Million followers on Instagram but before Ertugrul’s broadcast in Pakistan, she had one million followers.

    He added that Pakistanis followed her and made her bigger, Ayeza Khan has ten times more followers than her.

    Ever since Yasir Hussain likened Turkish dramas to ‘landay k kapray‘, the actor has been at the receiving end of trolling by fans of Diriliş: Ertuğrul. Cyber trolls even edited Yasir’s bio on Google and listed Esra as his parent.

    Yasir has often found himself at the receiving end of flak with his comments on Turkish actors and dramas. When Diriliş: Ertuğrul initially aired in April 2020, the actor had likened Turkish dramas to ‘landay k kapray’.

    “Landy k kapray aur Turkey k dramay, dono hee local industry ko tabah kardein gay,” the actor had said.

    Later, the actor was reported to have likened Turkish actors to ‘kachra‘ (garbage). According to details, Yasir while sharing a picture of ‘Pakistani Turgut and Pakistani Ertuğrul’ had commented: “Inko koi nahi poochega (no one will give them any attention). Kyunke ghar ki murgi daal barabar or bahar ka kachra bhi maal barabar,” insinuating that Pakistanis do not appreciate local talent enough.

    He was also very critical of QMobile for appointing Esra as their brand ambassador.

    “Apko nahi lagta k Pakistan brand ki brand ambassador bhi Pakistani honi chahiye? Na Indian na Turkish? Pakistan Zindabad (Don’t you think Pakistani brands should have Pakistani brand ambassadors? Neither Turkish nor Indian),” the actor had written on social media.

    Earlier, Yasir responded to a netizen who asked him if he wants to increase his followers on Instagram and stated that he should ask this to Pakistani leading ladies, Mahira Khan and Ayeza Khan. Yasir believes that they are in a race to garner maximum followers.

    It’s been less than 24 hours since little Kabir Hussain made his debut on Instagram and the little one already has more than 3,000 followers. 

    Celebrities including Minal Khan, Ayesha Omar and Sadia Ghaffar dropped adorable comments.

    The Karachi Se Lahore star shared a candid picture of Kabir, posing in the car.

    Netizens cheered the baby on his face reveal with positive comments.

    “He is so cute MashaAllah,” commented an Instagram user. “Awwww mashaAllha,” added another while a third one wrote: “He is so pretty like you!”

    Four women in Faisalabad were stripped naked and were beaten by locals on the accusation of theft on Monday, in Bawa Chak Market where dozens of people locked the women inside an electric shop. The women allegedly came there to drink water.

     A first information report (FIR) was registered and the suspects have been charged under sections 354-A (assault or use of criminal force against a woman and stripping her), 509 (insulting modesty or causing sexual harassment), 147 (punishment for rioting) and 149 (unlawful assembly guilty of an offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

     “They continued to beat us for around an hour and made our videos in naked condition,” the complainant said in FIR, as reported by Dawn.

    “The suspects committed gross injustice by stripping us, dragging us through the market and torturing us and strict action should be taken against them,” the complaint’s statement read in the FIR.

    As per reports, no one stopped people from beating the women and many were making videos from their phones. After the video went viral, the police took action against the accused people and arrested five people.

    Actor and writer Yasir Hussain took notice of the incident and shared his take on Instagram stories.

    The Jhooti actor also questioned PM Imran Khan that is this the change that he promised to the citizens?

    Earlier the Bulbulay diva Ayesha Omar has responded to the incident on her social media handle.

    On the work front, Yasir is set to release his directorial debut Koel starring Mansha Pasha and Fahad Sheikh.

    A rare white lion died, reportedly after his lungs stopped working, at the Karachi Zoo on Wednesday. A representative for the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) confirmed the lion’s death, saying it had been sick for the past 13 days with pulmonary tuberculosis.

    “He was being treated by veterinarians but could not recover and died due to his illness at 11 am on Wednesday,” the spokesperson said. However, as per social media reports  the lion has allegedly been starved to death.

    Earlier Journalist Quatrina Hosain posted a video in which the lion was in very poor condition. She also tagged the City Administrator Barrister Murtaza Wahab in her post, asking him to take the action against those responsible.

    Actor Ayesha Omar took to her Twitter handle to speak up against the lack of funds for animal welfare at Karachi Zoo.

    Actor and writer Yasir Hussain shared the news on his Instagram account while tagging Maryam Nawaz and wrote, “Sher tha aap hi bacha lete.”

    Activist Shaniera Akram also took to her twitter to express her and disappointment.

    Earlier, other celebrities including Ahsan Khan, Areeba Habib, Ahmed Ali Butt and Anoushey Ashraf also up against the trivialising treatment of animals in Karachi Zoo.

    The Jhooti actor recently shared a post and added a note that he will leak the movies on cable if they are not released in cinemas anytime soon. 

    Speaking of the digital era, the duo strongly believe that social media is starting to have a strong impact on the industry. “There will come a time when our actors will be girls who’ve risen on TikTok or other social media apps,” Safina said.

They’re getting their own pictures taken, putting in their own efforts to get them published and posted. If I put in this much effort in any other industry, I’d reach such heights in my career.”
