    Wahaj-Zara, Zahid-Sarwat pair up to headline forthcoming web series

    Actors Zara Noor Abbas and Wahaj Ali will be seen together in an upcoming web series written by Umera Ahmed.

    Directed and produced by Haseeb Hassan, the ensemble star cast also includes Hina Bayat, Javed Sheikh, Yasra Rizvi and Dur e Fishan in pivotal roles.

    While talking to a local news outlet, the Fitoor star confirmed the web series and said, “You are going to see me romancing Zara Noor Abbas in this one and it’s something really nice.” Moreover, Wahaj expressed his gratitude for the chance to work with the acclaimed writer Umera Ahmad and famed director Haseeb Hassan.

    Another promising digital project is currently in the making.

    Ace director Mehreen Jabbar is back with an exciting new project headlined by Zahid Ahmed and Sarwat Gilani as the leads for her new web series.

    Sarwat and Mehreen took to Instagram to share few BTS shots from the shoot where we can spot the actors.

    The script has been penned by Rida Bilal of Khudgarz fame.

    The Governor of Punjab Chaudhary Mohammad Sarwar conferred actor Hira Mani with the ‘Global Women Media’ award. The Do Bol star’s work in the field of television was acknowledged on August 15 in Lahore.

    Fellow celebrities Saba Faisal, Ghana Ali and Zara Noor Abbas cheered the Kashf actor on Instagram.

    On July 27, actor Usman Mukhtar opened about the harassment he has faced at the hands of a fellow female artist whom he worked with in 2016. The Sabaat star’s female co-stars have extended support to him after his candid confessions.

    Hashtag #StayStrongUsmanMukhtar became top Twitter trend in Pakistan as users reacted to Usman’s statement in which he detailed his ordeal. He also expressed disappointment over the indifference shown by the law enforcement agencies and their inaction on his complaint.

    The actor wrote his story on Instagram and shared with his thousands of fans, without naming the woman whose chat was also part of his social media post.

    Reacting to his post, actress Armeena Khan revealed that the same woman “attacked” her too, without elaborating further.

    Superstar Mahira Khan also assured Usman of her support and wrote in the comments, “Behind you and with you”.

    Including her, many others celebrities expressed their support for the Anaa fame actor.

    His co-star and friend Kubra Khan turned to Instagram to wish the birthday boy and extend her support in this tough time.

    He further thanked fans and people for supporting him and opened up about the fake statements by the other side as well. He has posted another screen shot with the case number.

    Replying to a comment of a fan asking her why Pakistani celebrities praise Bollywood actors even though, according to the fan, they are much more talented than their Indian counterparts.

    Sarwat gracefully replied back and lauded Bhatt by commenting, “We must learn to appreciate the people who deserve our praise. You don’t know how hard they’ve worked to get where they are. Alia Bhatt is an amazing artist and praise knows no boundaries or borders.”

    Veteran Bollywood actress Shabana Azmi showered love on Sajal Aly after the latter posted her dazzling photos. Both the actresses are working together in a Hollywood film titled as What’s Love got to do with it? When the Alif actress shared her stills from a photoshoot, Shabana displayed her love for her by commenting, “Hai main mar javaan!!!”.

    Imran Abbas recently showered love on the acclaimed Indian choreographer Geeta Kapur.

    In a surfaced video from the Indian reality show Super Dancer 4, veteran actress Neetu Kapoor praised Geeta which the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai fame posted on her Instagram handle. The Thora Sa Haq actor commented on her post and Geeta was quick to respond back.

    The Blind Love actress commented, “A man is incomplete without a woman and a woman is incomplete without a man, both are made different for each other’s betterment, not to compete and take brownie points”.

    The Ehd-e-Wafa actress said that replying to a follower who said that women are belittled. She said: “I would disagree, women are not always belittled but they are repeatedly questioned for their choices in life. Why is that question not standard for men in the corporate worlds?”

    Earlier, she questioned: “Why are working women asked to take steps back when they announce pregnancy in the corporate/work world and why are men never questioned for their credibility or the enthusiasm about work when they plan a family?”

    Zara is currently working in Hum TV’s Phaans opposite Sami Khan.

    ‘Don’t let the abuser get by,’ Zara Noor slams Firdous Awan for misconduct

    Zara Noor Abbas has questioned Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan’s misconduct and getting into a physical altercation with the PPP MNA Qadir Khan Mandokhail.

    Raising a very important question on Twitter, Zara said: “And had this been a man slapping a woman and abusing her on a talk show. What would have we done to him?”

    Zara further wrote: “But now it’s a man! What will we do now? Please don’t let the abuser get by. Man or woman!”

    The incident occurred when the two appeared on Express News’ talk show, Kal Tak, hosted by Javed Chaudhry. What started as a discussion about the government’s performance and excessive load shedding in parts of the country, turned into a shouting match between the two over the recent train collision in Sindh’s Ghotki district which claimed the lives of more than 60 people.

    Singer and actor Farhan Saeed, also condemned the incident, saying: “Thapar, chantay, galiyan, taney, trolling, memes, judgemental. Which country comes to mind?”

    Khuda ke liye be a nation and not a crowd, Allah ki kasam Pakistan ko kisi se khatra nahin hai but Pakistanis se ! Abhi bhi time hai, hamesha nahin reheyga,” he added.

    Ali Zafar also agreed with the Sajni singer on his stance.

    Friends, colleagues including Ayesha Omar, Neelam Muneer, Sadaf Kanwal, Nomi Ansari, Fouzia Aman, Tabesh Khoji, Zara Noor Abbas and Hira Mani are remembering Zara Abid on her first death anniversary. Zara was one of the passengers on the ill-fated Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK 8303 which crashed in Karachi on May 22, 2020, killing at least 97 people. Only two male passengers survived the crash.

    Remembering her “beautiful friend” on her first death anniversary, Neelam Muneer prayed Zara attains Jannat e Firdous.

    “Remembering Zara,” said Ayesha Omar.

    Fellow model, Fouzia Aman shared a collage of black and white pictures of Zara and wrote: “We didn’t realise we were making memories. We just knew we were having fun.”

    “Zara Abid, you’ll always be missed,” added Aman.

    “I am just out of words to explain how I feel since you left us,” said stylist Tabesh Khoja. “Our only Zaru, you will always be remembered.”

    Khoja also remembered all those who lost their lives in the tragic crash.

    Commenting on Khoja’s post, Hira Mani, Nomi Ansari, Sadia Khan and Zhalay remembered Zara and prayed for her soul.

    Others who remembered the late model include Sadaf Kanwal, Abeer Rizvi and Zara Noor Abbas.
