Yesterday, she shared an update about her case on her Instagram story and said that one of the suspects, Azaan Khosa, had been granted a pre-arrest bail.

“Azaad Khosa had not been arrested for all this time. Today, he obtained a pre-arrest bail and is scheduled to be produced in front of court on August 6.”

She also alleged that the DNA test report “has been subjected to delays and is still pending.” The DNA samples were collected on July 20.

‘Can never recover,’ says foreigner who was raped in DG Khan

Earlier, while talking to the media, the woman revealed she knew the man [one of the culprits] for a long time and is hurt by the fact that he could do something like this.

“I am deeply hurt by the fact that a friend I have known for such a long time was trying to portray a positive image of this beautiful country to foreign travellers, who seemed so trustworthy, could commit such a vile and horrific act,” she said.

She said that she can never recover from the mental scars that the incident has left.

The woman said that the legal proceedings in this regard are very difficult, but there is hope that justice will be served. According to her, so far the proceedings have been smooth.

  • ‘Can talk to TTP, not with thieves’: Imran Khan rules out possibility of talks with the govt

‘Can talk to TTP, not with thieves’: Imran Khan rules out possibility of talks with the govt

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan addressed his supporters on Wednesday, a day after the Supreme Court verdict declared Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as the new chief minister of Punjab. He demanded immediate elections that should be free and fair. Khan ruled out any possibility of holding talks with the coalition government.

‘Can talk to the TTP and separatists but not with thieves’

“I can talk to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the separatists of Balochistan and Sindh, but not with thieves,” said Khan while ruling out the possibility of holding talks with the coalition government.

“Will you speak to someone who robs your home?”

‘A new Election Commission should be formed’

Once again, Khan expressed his complete lack of trust in the incumbent Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja. Khan accused the ECP of supporting former CM Punjab Hamza Shehbaz.

“The Election Commission was involved and tried to defeat us in the by-polls.”

Terming his party’s win in the Punjab by-elections a “miracle”, he said that despite the government’s attempts, his party managed to win because of the people.

“First of all, Hamza was illegally imposed on us, and even when he was ordered by the top court to refrain from using any state machinery and administration for personal gains, he used all of the aforementioned to rig the elections.”

He demanded that a new Election Commission should be formed.

“Such an Election Commission should be formed that no political party should have an issue with it.”

‘Yeh jo bikay hain hamaray log, yeh bhi aik shirk hai’

Khan said that those who defected from his party committed shirk.

Jab yeh apni naukri ko bachanay ke liye ghalat kaam kartay hain, gunnah kartay hain, yeh bhi aik shirk hai. Aap apnay zameer ko bechtay hain, laalach de kar jo aap ko khareedta hai, yeh jo bikay hain hamaray log bhairr baqriyon ki tarah, yeh bhi aik shirq hai kyun ke Allah Al-Haqq hai.

(Those who do wrong things to save their jobs commit sin, it is shirk [idolatry]. Those who sell their self-respect and themselves, it is also counted as shirk because Allah is Al-Haqq).

    Azadi March and Haqeeqi Azadi

Khan recalled that when his party announced its “Azadi March” on May 25, the coalition government attacked the women, children, and families who came out to support PTI.

    “They tried to silence us.”

“Today, I want to thank the Almighty that despite all the impediments, people came out to show support rather than staying at home out of fear,” adding that he is glad that the people of Pakistan have started becoming a nation now.

Free and fair elections should be held immediately

Khan stressed that there is only one way forward and that is through immediately holding free and fair elections.

‘Can’t imagine living without it’: Indian woman flaunts her moustache with pride

Shyja, a 35-year-old Indian woman from Kerala, is making headlines for flaunting her moustache proudly.

“I love my moustache,” her WhatsApp status section reads. “All I can say is that I just like it. A lot.”

“I can’t imagine living without it now. When the Covid pandemic started, I disliked wearing a mask all the time because it covered my face,” Shyja added.

“I’ve never felt that I’m not beautiful because I have this or that it’s something I shouldn’t have.”

Talking about her love for her moustache, Shyja said, “I just do what I like. If I had two lives, maybe I’d live one for others.”

Shyja has battled many health problems. She had six surgeries in the last decade, one to remove a lump in her breast and another to remove cysts in her ovary. Her most recent procedure was a hysterectomy five years ago.

“Each time I came out of surgery, I would hope that I never had to go back into an operation theatre again,” she says.

Shyja’s family and friends are supportive of her choices. Her daughter frequently tells her that she looks good with a moustache. However, Shyja claims she has received a variety of comments from people.

“People make fun of me saying, ‘It’s men who have moustaches, why would a woman have one?’”

Shyja’s friends frequently respond angrily to these comments on Facebook, but she says it doesn’t upset her at all.

Sri Lanka defeats Pakistan in second Test to end the series 1-1

After losing the second Test match against Sri Lanka, Pakistan dropped to fifth place in the most recent World Test Championship points standings.

Both sides won one match each in the two-Test series between the two countries, which has been entertaining. With a four-wicket victory in the first Test, Pakistan took a 1-0 lead in the series. By chasing 342, the visitors improved their hopes of competing in the World Test Championship final the following year, moving up to third place in the standings, while Sri Lanka fell to No. 6.

After their victory over the Men in Green to tie the series, Sri Lanka rose from sixth to third place. Australia holds down the coveted second slot in the league while South Africa continues at the top.

Pakistan’s heroics from the first Test were not repeated as they lost in the second innings despite attempting to reach a record-breaking 508-run mark. The Men in Green gave Sri Lanka a 147-run lead going into the second innings by being dismissed for 231 in their first innings.

In the second innings, Sri Lanka made the most of their advantage by completely dominating Pakistan’s bowling attack. In the last innings, Pakistan was given a target of 508 after Dhananjaya de Silva’s brilliant century.

Despite having a strong beginning to their innings, Pakistani hitters lost their way halfway through. Before Pakistan’s mini-collapse stopped them and secured a draw, captain Babar Azam produced yet another half-century. Sri Lanka destroyed the batsmen as they defeated their opponent by 246 runs.

  • Government will soon lift the import ban on certain items

Government will soon lift the import ban on certain items

The government will lift the import ban on some items in the upcoming weeks, according to Finance Minister Miftah Ismail, but restrictions for cellphones, cars, and home appliances will remain in place.

He stated that the Commerce Ministry has sent a summary to the federal cabinet for removing restrictions on the import of non-essential and luxury items while speaking at a seminar about the performance of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) here in the federal capital.

According to the finance minister, the decision was made in light of a lower import bill as a result of restrictions placed on the import of new machinery and raw materials, as well as lower oil prices on the global market. “In the upcoming months, we anticipate a decrease in petroleum product imports. Lower imports will enable Pakistan to conserve its foreign currency, he continued.

He continued by saying he was hopeful for higher dollar inflows compared to outflows starting in the upcoming month, which would ease pressure on the local currency.

“Imports in Pakistan as of July 25 were $3.758 billion and our total imports are likely to be $4.824 billion. This number will be less than our exports plus remittance”, he had written on Twitter a day earlier.

The ban on 30 categories and 83 Customs headings was reportedly requested to be lifted by the finance minister on Tuesday to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

He did, however, suggest that the Commerce Ministry keep the ban on completely built units (CBUs), cars, and home appliances in place.

Speaking with Profit, sources said that between May 19 and July 19, 2021, Pakistan imported CBU automobiles, mobile phones, and home appliances worth Rs399 million. However, after the ban was imposed on May 19, 2022, the trend of importing these items decreased.

Pakistan imported goods worth Rs123 million between May 19 and July 19, 2022, a difference of Rs276 million compared to the corresponding months of the previous fiscal year.

It is important to note that the government has outright banned the import of cars, mobile phones, home appliances, dry fruits (aside from those from Afghanistan), crockery, shoes, chandeliers, lights (except energy savers), headphones, and loudspeakers.

Some items on the list included condiments, doors and window frames, travel bags and suitcases, sanitary ware, fish and frozen fish, preserved fruits, tissue paper, furniture, shampoos, confectionery, luxury mattresses, and sleeping bags, jams and jellies, cornflakes, toiletries, heaters, blowers, sunglasses, kitchenware, aerated water, frozen meat, juices, pasta, ice cream, cigarettes, shaving supplies, luxury leather apparel, and musical instruments.

Gold prices hit an all-time high of Rs152,000 per tola

On Wednesday, the price of gold in Pakistan rose to an all-time high, reaching Rs152,000 per tola, primarily as a result of increased demand and the weakening of Pakistani rupee (PKR).

The cost of silver in the domestic market remained steady at Rs1,600 for a tola and Rs1,371.74 for a gramme.
