Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) General Secretary and former federal minister Asad Umar’s Twitter account has been hacked, confirmed PTI’s official Twitter handle early Wednesday.
“PTI Secretary General Asad Umar’s account has been hacked. Please report any uncharacteristic tweets to Twitter. We are working with Twitter to get access back,” tweeted PTI official.
Earlier in May, PTI leader and former federal minister Hammad Azhar’s e-mail, Twitter, and Apple accounts were also hacked
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh’s recent nude photo shoot has landed the actor in trouble. The Mumbai Police on Tuesday registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Singh after an application was filed against Singh for “hurting the sentiments of women” through his “vulgar” photos.
On Monday, according to The Hindustan Times, an office-bearer of a non-governmental organisation called Shyam Mangaram Foundation sought the registration of an FIR against the Bollywood actor. The complainant stated the actor hurt the “sentiments” of women and insulted their modesty through his photographs.
“Last week we saw many nude photographs were clicked in such a manner that any male or female will feel ashamed about it,” read the complaint.
It was submitted at the Chembur police station and the complainant demanded the registration of a case against the Ram Leela actor under the Information Technology Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
On Thursday, July 21, Paper Magazine posted an interview with the Bollywood star that featured some nude pictures. Singh has often attracted attention for his bold fashion choices, but discarding clothes altogether has put him under the spotlight.
“It’s so easy for me to be physically naked, but in some of my performances, I’ve been damn f-ing naked. You can see my f-ing soul. How naked is that? That’s being actually naked. I can be naked in front of a thousand people, I don’t give a sh*t. It’s just that they get uncomfortable,” said Ranveer.
Twitterati had befitting replies to Singh’s photoshoot.
Missing girl was presented before the judicial magistrate in the city court today (July 27) in Karachi. The court said that the order to produce the minor today was to ensure that she is in a comfortable situation in the shelter home. The court also said that she should not be presented again until other court orders are issued.
The application was filed by Zaheer Ahmed before Judicial Magistrate (East) Aftab Ahmed Bughio.
The court ordered that the minor should be presented in court by the Child Protection Officer.
The court said that no one will be allowed to meet the girl. As per the court orders, no one should be present at the time of minor’s appearance except the lawyers of the parties.
Ahead of the Supreme Court verdict on the Punjab chief minister election case, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz tweeted that the government must take a firm stand and rise to the occasion.
“The government MUST take a firm stand & rise to the occasion. Rise to the occasion or fall to the status quo. Leaders are made by the situations they are confronted with,” tweeted Maryam Nawaz.
A meeting of the heads of the federal government’s coalition parties has been called on the possible decision of the Supreme Court. The meeting will begin shortly at the Prime Minister House.
It is being reported that the political situation, including the decision of the Supreme Court, will be considered.
It is pertinent to mention here that on Monday, July 25, all political parties in the coalition announced that they will boycott court proceedings till a full bench is constituted.
Announcing the decision, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that since the coalition government’s request for the formation of a full court bench was rejected, they have also rejected this decision of the court.
“We will not appear before this bench and will boycott it.”
After several postponements, the Federal Cabinet finally decided to approve the Rs7.91 per unit increase in the power tariff.
The Federal Minister of Power, Khuram Dastgir, and Minister of Petroleum, Musadik Malik, made the announcement during a press conference.
Dastgir claimed that because Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif wanted to provide relief to the masses. The consent was not given until 45 per cent of the population had been exempted from the tariff increase.
Musadik Malik, the minister of petroleum, disclosed that by leaving out the protected sector, the homes with consumption of less than 200 units per month, or up to 90 million people, had been left out of the price increase.
Previously, the government’s proposal for the tariff increase was subject to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority’s (NEPRA) reserve decision, according to Dawn.
In accordance with the approval, the government will raise the rate by Rs3.5 per unit starting on July 26. A similar price rise will be implemented in August. The cost would then be raised by Rs0.91 per unit in October by the government, bringing the total rise to Rs7.91.
Malik blamed the previous administration’s lack of frequent fuel adjustments and transmission losses rebasing for the sharp increase in tariffs. Fuel surcharges were raised without notifying the public at the final rebasing, which took place in February 2021.
The power minister informed the media that the present administration had paid Rs214 billion toward circular debt, bringing the total down from Rs2,476 billion on March 31, 2022, to Rs2,253 billion on June 30, 2022.
Two Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flying on the same route and altitude avoided mid-air collision over Iranian airspace near the United Arab Emirates (UAE) border.
It has been reported that the two carriers came close to mid-air collision due to the alleged negligence of the Iranian Air Traffic Control (ATC). However, the Iranian ATC then cleared the altitude for both airplanes. One was directed to dive while the other was asked to go higher in altitude as per standard practice.
One airplane was PIA Boeing 777, which was en route from Islamabad to Dubai while the other airplane was Airbus A320, en route from Doha to Peshawar.
A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) spokesman said that flight (PK-211), a Boeing 777 was maintaining a 35,000-feet altitude when it came close to a Peshawar-bound PIA flight (PK-268) of Airbus A320 from Doha. He said the PK-268 flight was flying at an altitude of 36,000 feet at the time and was cleared to descend to 20,000 feet.
According to the PIA spokesman, the descent would have come in the flight path of PIA flight of Boeing 777 PK-211.
Over the negligence matter, the spokesman said that the Pakistan Airlines is writing to the ATC to investigate the matter.
President Dr Arif Alvi was asked about an early appointment of the next army chief, which is due this November, in a meeting with journalists today.
“It’s not such a bad idea,” Alvi said in response.
According to reports, President Alvi said that this matter can be resolved through dialogue.
President Alvi said that it has been suggested that he “plays his part” after meeting the army, naval, or air chiefs, which he “cannot do”. Elaborating further, Alvi said that as the president of Pakistan, he does not have the constitutional authority to ask parties to have a dialogue.
He said that a dialogue is possible only when all the stakeholders agree. “The President House can play its role only in this case.”
“The neutrals need to remain neutral always,” the president said.
“The elephant in the room has not yet appeared but it has been there for 50 years,” he said, adding that the matter is a ground reality and that it can be solved through dialogue.
Alvi said that he has had many meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and this impression is wrong that his relationship with the prime minister is not so good. Since this government took power, the government has sent the president 74 summaries.
Since the coalition government has come into the office, 69 out of 74 summaries have been signed on the day of receiving them, said Alvi.
“I held back the summaries regarding NAB amendment Ordinance, electronic voting machines, and the Punjab governor but this was not due to any pressure,” he said.
When asked, President Alvi said that he didn’t have any communication with PTI Chairman Imran Khan on the matter of EVMs and NAB amendment ordinance and the last time they spoke was when there was an issue regarding the Punjab governor.
Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed condemned the coalition government for calling Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial’s bench a “fixed bench”. Yesterday, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz said that bench-fixing is a crime like match-fixing.
Sheikh tweeted that “no-confidence should be submitted against [Prime Minister] Shehbaz Sharif”, adding that after the army, the Supreme Court (SC) is now being targeted.
He asked the coalition government to name their “favourite judges”. Rasheed also claimed that the PML-N is running away from elections.
Prior to the SC hearing on the matter of the Punjab Chief Minister (CM) election, the coalition government held a joint press conference.
The government demanded a full court bench but the SC rejected this demand. On Monday, it was announced that all political parties in the coalition will boycott court proceedings till a full bench is constituted.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday said that monsoon rains will continue this week.
The PMD warned that the ongoing monsoon system may trigger further urban flooding in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Faisalabad, Lahore and Gujranwala.
As per the PMD, flash flooding is also expected in local nullahs of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Shakargarh, Sialkot, Narowal, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Dir, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Bannu and Kashmir from July 27 to July 31.

Special squads have been formed by the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) to deal with motorists in the capital city that have tinted windows or black papers.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic, Dr Syed Mustafa Tanveer, stated that the officers’ and Jawans’ efforts had drastically reduced the incidence of fatal accidents. He stated that more similar measures are needed to safeguard the safety of citizens’ lives and to make Islamabad an accident-free city.
Despite repeated warnings from the ITP, numerous vehicles with tinted windows can be spotted on key roads and highways in the federal capital.
SSP Tanveer also stated that the ITP intends to implement a zero-tolerance policy in the future since it is a moral responsibility to raise awareness about road safety while enforcing regulations. Similarly, the behaviour of persons on the road reflects societal norms, he continued.
He was of the view that ITP personnel have had extensive training and have been instructed to treat civilians with compassion, sincerity, and humility. He believed that breaking traffic regulations causes accidents. In an appeal to citizens.
