    Video: Meera cries for help after being attacked by armed goons

    Actress Meera is always in the news for one reason or the other, the Baaji actress cried in a live media interaction today post an attack on her family and property by armed goons.

    Meera claimed that the attackers physically assaulted her brother and mother over property clash. She appealed for help through the video and states that she and her family are ready to be hanged publicly if their claims are proven to be false.

    “The attackers are fraudulent, they want to kill my mother”. She has submitted an application to get security and support from the government in this case.

  • FIA summons Shehbaz Sharif in sugar scam inquiry

    The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday summoned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif for questioning in connection with its ongoing probe into the sugar scam.

    Shehbaz Sharif has been asked to turn up at the FIA Lahore office on June 22, reports ARY News.

    The subpoena served to Shehbaz warned him of legal action, including his possible arrest, in case he fails to show up before the FIA. He is required to bring all the relevant documents along with him besides his replies to four questions the probe team has asked him.

    The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Shehbaz Sharif from outside the Lahore High Court (LHC) in a money-laundering case last year in September. He was recently granted bail on April 22, 2021.

    Hashtag ‘Boycott Zara’ is trending on Twitter after Palestinian model Qaher Harhash exposed anti-Palestinian and ‘Islamophobic’ conversation with Vanessa Perilman, Head Designer at Zara. Vanessa allegedly sent controversial messages to Qaher in response to pro-Palestine posts by the model from occupied east Jerusalem.

    The alleged message sent by Vanessa to Qaher said: “Israelis don’t teach children to hate, nor throw stones at soldiers as your people do. The people in my industry know the truth about Israel and Palestine and I will never stop defending Israel. People like you just come and go in the end.”

    “Maybe if your people were educated then they wouldn’t blow up hospitals and schools that Israel helped to pay for in Gaza.”

    “I think it’s funny that you’re a model because in reality, that is against what the Muslim faith believes in and if you were to come out of the closet in any Muslim country, you would be stoned to death,” she added.

    Expats protest, demand Pfizer vaccines ‘only’

    Several overseas Pakistanis protested outside the Mass Vaccination Centre at F-9 Park in Islamabad, on Monday. The expats demanded that they should only be administered the vaccine manufactured by Pfizer, reports The Express Tribune.

    The staff present at the vaccination centre stated that they could only administer the vaccine provided by the government which was not what the expats were demanding.

    As a result of this, expats protested by holding placards and demanded that the prime minister should ensure the availability of Pfizer vaccine for them.

    They maintained that Overseas Pakistanis are a source of billions of dollars coming into the country yet they are being humiliated over a vaccine. They demanded a date be announced for them so that they could get vaccinated.

    Earlier, it had issued guidelines that only a limited amount of Pfizer vaccine was available in Pakistan, therefore, only Haj pilgrims and student and work visa holders for foreign countries would be immunised with it.

    Maya was offered another Akshay Kumar film, Rustom but the Indo-Pak turmoil resulted in Pakistani actors getting banned in India and hence the makers roped in Barfi fame Ileana D’cruz for the role. It was also speculated that Maya refused the film as it had an extra marital affair angle in the script.

    Maya is currently being seen on Anjum Shahzad’s Pehli Si Muhabbat opposite Sheheryar Munawar.

    VIDEO: Men climb up pipe to save kids from fire

    Three men in Russia climbed up a drainpipe outside a three-storey building to save two children after they got stuck inside a burning apartment.

    The video that did rounds on social media shows a man climbing a drainpipe outside a building while a child is trying to escape through a window on the third floor.

    Two other men climed up the pipe to form a chain and joined the rescue efforts.

    The video recorded by the residents across the street showed the man around 30 metres above the ground holds the child with one hand while holding on to the drainpipe with the other.

    Once he gets hold of the child, he passes him to the other man right below him clinging to the pipe. The second person then passes the child to the third and then a woman on the ground hold the child.

     Later, fire extinguishers arrived and drenched the fire. The men who saved the children have been nominated for bravery awards for their heroic efforts.

    Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) has been placed in the list of proscribed organisations, under the 1st schedule of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ &K) Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), 2014.

    TLP was involved in political activities and carrying out its election campaigns in AJK for the upcoming polls that are scheduled for July 25. Under ATA, banned organisations are not allowed to engage in any political activities. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are the main contenders in the electoral contest.

    However, despite the ban, TLP participated in the NA-249 by-elections in Karachi on April 28. TLP came third in the Karachi by-elections.

    TLP was formed on August 1, 2015, by Khadim Hussain Rizvi and banned by the Government of Pakistan on April 15, 2021.

    Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have given their fans and the media the much awaited confirmation of their romantic patch-up.

    Rumour mills were buzzing that the couple reunited in May after they were spotted holidaying together in Montana.

    Now, in a video shared by Page Six, the couple can been seen nuzzling each other’s necks and sharing kisses in public during their romantic getaway in Malibu.

    In the early 2000s, Lopez and Affleck were one of Hollywood’s most famous couples. They regularly made headlines after a high-profile engagement in 2002 and also collaborated on feature films such as Jersey Girl and Gigli.

    Their relationship came to an end in January 2004, shortly after they postponed their wedding.

    Affleck went on to marry Jennifer Garner which ended up in divorce, while Lopez recently announced her separation from fiancé Alex Rodriguez.

    The couple has been spotted at various locations over the last few weeks.

    Musician Xulfi will be taking over Coke Studio’s forthcoming season. The Aghosh singer has confirmed the news on his Twitter handlle. Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan popularly known as Xulfi is a producer, singer-songwriter, composer and guitarist.

    “Shuru karain? (Let’s begin?),” the official twitter handle of Coke studio wrote while tagging Xulfi in the post to which the singer responded with a smile emoji, confirming that he is now taking over Coke Studio.

    Earlier, this year in March Rohail Hyatt, during a Twitter exchange with a fan, revealed that he is stepping down as Coke Studio’s (CS) producer.

    Rohail later in a twitter exchange suggested that Xulfi is the best option to replace him a s producer.

    Hyatt joined Coke Studio in 2008 with its first season but stepped down after 6 seasons. He was later brought back for the 12th season in 2019, though it failed to impress audiences. Rohail also produced the latest Season 13, which had only twelve songs due to COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns.

    A marriage in India’s Uttar Pradesh was called off on Monday after the groom could not pronounce Urdu words correctly.

    As per reports, a man posing himself as a Muslim was exposed and handed over to the police when he could not pronounce Urdu words correctly during the marriage.

    The suspect hailing from  Siddhartha Nagar was in a relationship with a girl from the Kolhui area. They met online on a social media platform.

    The girl knew that the boy was not a Muslim but she did not tell that to her family and convinced him to marry her according to Muslim customs.

    During the marriage, the groom could not pronounce some Urdu words correctly and this made the girl’s family doubtful.

    When the groom fumbled over Urdu words, the girl’s family checked his PAN (permanent account number) card and his true identity was revealed.

    The groom and his friends tried to run away from the wedding venue but the bride’s family caught them and handed over to police. The marriage has been called off for now.

    Inspector in charge, Dilip Shukla, said that the groom and the bride were brought to the police station and were being questioned. The girl has confessed that she already knew about  the boy’s religion. He said the further action would be decided later.
