Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, who has often spoken up about living with a speech impediment, won Twitter after he offered words of support and encouragement to a Pakistani student humiliated for stuttering.
Twitter user Marium Zulfiqar, penned a long note on how a professor at a university in Islamabad had mocked and humiliated her cousin for stuttering during a class presentation. She added that her cousin has been traumatised by the incident and has not been able to come out of his room since then.
Marium’s tweet was widely circulated on social media and caught the attention of the Bollywood superstar who tweeted his support for the student and offered him words of encouragement.
Please tell your cousin that that professor and his judgement both are irrelevant. Stuttering should never hold him back from dreaming BIG ! Tell him it’s NOT his fault and it’s NOT something he needs to be ashamed of. People who shame him are no better than brainless monkeys. https://t.co/BDQp9PArag
According to Marium, the professor in question is the head of the Bachelor of Business Administration department in National University Of Modern Languages, Pakistan.
Following Roshan’s tweet, Marium has put her Twitter account on private though it’s not sure why she did that.
Fawad Khan rarely makes an appearance – on social media or otherwise (unless it’s for Pepsi) – but when he does it has to be for something big. And this time the actor made a surprise social media appearance to answer the burning question we’ve all been asking: when is The Legend of Maula Jatt revealing?
And turns out the rumours have been true all along – the film is expected to hit the screens on Eid ul Fitr 2020 as per Fawad and the film’s producer Ammara Hikmat. Not only that, Fawad gave his fans a double treat by sharing a picture from his first day of the shoot for the film.

The film has been directed by Bilal Lashari and also starres Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick and Gohar Rasheed among others. The film has been touted as Pakistan’s most expensive production to date.
It has been a long wait but the makers of The Legend of Maula Jatt have finally managed to sort out the film’s legal battles and clear the path for its release.
Reports had revealed that Sarwar Bhatti who had filed a case against the film for copyright infringement has withdrawn his case and has reached an agreement with the makers.
Speaking to a private news outlet Bhatti had said “Ammara [producer] and Bilal Lashari [director] are like my children. Someone misguided them but all kids tend to make mistakes and therefore I am willing to put everything behind me. I am doing this for their welfare, for the revival of cinema and to give the much-needed boost to Pakistan’s film industry. I will no longer be a hurdle in the release of The Legend of Maula Jatt.”
Bhatti had claimed that Maula Jatt was his property and had filed an application for a stay order to prevent the director from using the character, name and dialogues and asked the court to stop the film from being released.
Meanwhile, it is likely that it will be Fawad vs Fawad at the box-office this Eid ul Fitr because Fawad’s other project Money Back Guarantee is also scheduled to release on Eid-ul-Fitr along with Urwa Hocane and Farhan Saeed’s Tich Button.

Following the opening ceremony of the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Pakistanis found a new person to hate on: Ahmed Godil. The Karachi-based VJ opened the opening ceremony of the PSL 5 and drew irk and widespread criticism from audiences for his performance on stage.
The backlash and trolling became so unbearable that the next morning, Godil made several TV appearances in which he appealed to the audiences to spare him, explaining that he wasn’t even the host of the show – Fakhre Alam was. He also requested the audience to leave his mother and sisters out of this.
In his latest post, Godil has announced that he is no longer part of the PSL or PCB. In a five-minute video, the host explained that PCB let him go following the trolling and his appearances on multiple media channels.
Godil also expressed his frustration with the PCB for their mismanagement and not supporting him amidst the trolling. He said that he gave the organisation his everything and in return, they fired him.
“I was just about to get in the car and leave for the stadium around 12 pm when I received a call from the PSL management to inform me that my services are no longer needed,” said a visibly emotional Godil in the video, adding that all he did was try to save the opening ceremony from failing without a script in hand or any preparation.
Earlier, while speaking a private news channel, Godil had remarked that the opening ceremony of PSL 2020 was a “very poorly managed show”.
“I was told to come to the stage for the pre-show as they [organisers] said the audience was bored since 4:30 pm,” he said, iterating that he was not the host of the event.
When Shoaib Akhtar, who was also on the show, commented that he didn’t understand the opening ceremony, Godil responded, “It was a very, very poorly managed show.”
Meanwhile, social media began to speculate that Godil was reportedly sacked for revealing that PCB has strictly banned Ali Zafar’s songs from being played in the stadium. Godil responded to the rumours.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres is here for a four-day visit to Pakistan.
Guterres landed in Islamabad on Sunday. Talking to the media he said that “One of the main purposes of my visit is to spotlight the real Pakistan with all its possibility and potential.”
The UN chief spoke at an international press conference titled 40 years of Afghan Refugees Presence in Pakistan: A New Partnership for Solidarity, where he praised Pakistan for being the world’s second-largest refugee-hosting country.
He also met Mahira Khan, who was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador in November and is working with the UN Refugee Agency. Guterres took to twitter and thanked Mahira Khan and all Pakistanis for their support.

Before the appointment, Khan visited Afghan refugees in Peshawar in 2018 as part of a high-profile UN delegation. She has also spoken up for the needs of more than 1.4 million registered Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
As the weather warms up, the Pakistani films are also rolling. A few days after the teaser of Farhan Saeed and Urwa Hocane’s Tich Button dropped, Shamoon Abbasi and Ayesha Omar’s Dhaai Chaal based on Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadav and his activities in Balochistan was shared on social media.
The producer of the film Dr Irfan Ashraf shared the trailer on Twitter and said that his film was a response to Shah Rukh Khan’s Netflix venture: Bard of Blood.
In an interview, the film’s lead Shamoon Abbasi while talking about the plot had shared that “the film is based on the time when Jadhav was active in the region of Balochistan and was appointed to sabotage the billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.”
While a release date has not yet been mentioned, the film directed by Taimoor Sherazi and written by Faiza Choudhry is expected to release sometime later this year. It is being made in collaboration with the Frontier Corps.
Earlier, the Abbasi also shared a BTS video from the making of the film.

Nazish Jahangir, who is currently popular as Shameela bhabhi in Geo’s Kahin Deep Jalay recently opened up about her battle with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
In an elaborate post on social media, the actor talked about being a victim of PTSD for the past ten years and explained to her followers what exactly it is.
“Many people are unaware that untreated post-traumatic stress disorder can have a devastating effect on those who have the condition and their loved ones. It not only affects relationships with your family, friends and others, it can trigger serious emotional problems and even cause health problems over time,” Nazish wrote.
She concluded her note writing, “There isn’t a formula that you can insert yourself into to get from horror to healed. Be patient. Take up space. Let your journey be the balm,” adding that she offers prayers regularly.

Born and raised in Islamabad, Nazish began her career in 2015 when she took part in a play by Anwar Maqsood. However, it was not until 2017 that she made her television debut with the drama serial Bharosa. Following that, Nazish was part of several popular dramas including Alif Allah Aur Insaan, Tohmat and Kamzarf.
Nazish was also recently embroiled in controversy after Mohsin Abbas Haider’s former wife Fatema Sohail accused her of having an affair with her husband. Mohsin and Nazish both had refuted the allegations then. Later, it was also rumoured that the two were tying the knot – however, they rejected those reports also.
Addressing these rumours and allegations, Nazish in a recent interview had said, “I was friends with both Mohsin and his wife Fatema and I knew the truth but stayed stay quiet out of respect for Mohsin.”
“I don’t think social media is the place where we openly and publicly discuss our personal matters and get the whole nation involved in trivial matters,” she said, adding, “It is below my dignity. I am totally against domestic violence but I will always stand by real victims and not those who have an ulterior motive.”
Meanwhile, Nazish is also set to make her big-screen debut this year with Lafangay alongside Sami Khan, Mani and Saleem Mairaj.

“Mahira is an elegant star,” he wrote in the caption, which almost read like a love letter. “That’s her thing. Elegance. She doesn’t have to try too hard, it’s a natural thing for her.”
