Cricketer Imam-ul-Haq is set to tie the knot soon.
The Pakistani batsman is going to marry a Norwegian girl on November 25, according to Geo Super. The wedding festivities will begin in Lahore on November 23 and will include a Qawwali night. The Nikkah will take place on November 25, while the Valima will be held on the next day.
Prominent members of the cricket team including Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Rizwan and Shadab Khan will attend the wedding.
Pakistan currently is facing a series of defeats in the World Cup after losing to Afghanistan in Chennai, and previously to India and Australia.
After Monday’s humiliating defeat at the hands on Afghanistan, Pakistan team’s journey to reach the semi-finals once again depends on the loss or wins of other teams.
After Pakistan’s defeat, if we look at the World Cup group stage points table, India is first, New Zealand is second, South Africa is third and Australia is fourth, while despite the defeat, Pakistan is still in the fifth spot.
It should be noted that the top 4 teams at the end of the group stage will qualify for the semi-finals, but now the question is whether there is any way for the Pakistan team to reach the semi-finals or not.
Pakistan can still reach the semi-finals, but for that, Pakistan cannot lose any more matches.
In the remaining four matches, the first will be against South Africa on October 27, Bangladesh on October 31, New Zealand on November 4, and England on November 11. Pakistan will have 12 points in the group stage.
Even if Pakistan wins all their remaining matches, for Pakistan to reach the semi-finals, Bangladesh will have to defeat South Africa in today’s match, while South Africa should be defeated by India in their match on November 5.
New Zealand will have to at least lose to South Africa and Australia, as this will give them 10 points and Pakistan will have 12 points after six wins. Pakistan will also benefit from the defeat of South Africa by New Zealand in their next matches. Similarly, South Africa will have 10 points after winning five matches, and Pakistan will have 12 points after winning six matches.
There are other chances of Pakistan reaching the semi-finals in this tournament, but none of them are without risk.
After an eight wicket defeat by Afghanistan in the ICC Cricket World Cup, Wasim Akram expressed reservations over the fitness of the Pakistan team, slamming the squad’s management.
Talking on a private TV show, Wasim Akram said that it is a shame that Afghanistan made a big score of 280 while losing just two wickets. For several weeks they have been shouting on the TV screen that the players have not had a fitness test for two years, he said.
“Now, let’s take the names of the players individually, who have become so big, looking at them, it seems as if they eat eight kilos of nihari daily, at least they should be tested”.
The former captain said, “Professionally these boys are paid, they play for the country, and there should be some standard rules for them”.
After the defeat against Australia, Wasim Akram criticized Haris Rauf’s bowling and said, “This is what I had to say about Haris Rauf before the start of the World Cup. Until Haris Rauf plays first-class cricket, he will have a problem in ODIs”.
He further said “Why do we call our bowling the best attack in the world? Our bowlers are talented, Shaheen Shah Afridi is one of the best bowlers among them, unfortunately, Naseem Shah is suffering from an injury.”
After the stunning defeat by Afghanistan in the ICC World Cup, Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam said that the defeat has hurt the team, pointing out that bowling and fielding were not up to par.
While addressing a press conference after the match, Azam said, “I congratulate Afghanistan, anything can happen in cricket, this defeat has hurt the team. The bowling, and fielding were not good while the spinners did not bowl well in the middle overs.”
Addressing criticism of his own performance, Azam said that he does not have the burden of captaincy. “When I bat, I only do my batting, when it is my turn to captain, I do full captaincy.”
He said, “The Pakistan team is not able to click, the focus on fielding is not being fulfilled. After the defeat against India, our plans are not succeeding.”
He again talked about his own performance, stating, “I do not know what campaign is going on against me on social media.”
