There is a possibility of a big change in the Pakistan cricket team for Friday’s match against Australia in the ICC ODI World Cup.
Sources say that leg-spinner Osama Mir can be added to the Pakistan playing 11 on Saturday instead of vice-captain Shadab Khan who might be dropped. Khan has not been able to chalk up a good performance in the World Cup, leading to criticism from fans.
The match between Pakistan and Australia will be played today at 1:30 p.m.
In the 17th match of the ICC ODI World Cup, India won its fourth consecutive victory in the event by defeating Bangladesh by seven wickets.
Bangladesh captain Najamul Hasan Shanto won the toss and decided to bat first in the match played in Pune.
Opening batsmen Tanzid Hasan and Liton Das put on a wonderful opening partnership of 93 runs in 14 overs and 4 balls, but then Hasan returned to the pavilion after scoring 51 runs off 43 balls.
Liton Das was then dismissed for 66, captain Najamul Hasan Shanto for 8, and Mehidi Hasan Miraz for just 3 runs. Tauheed scored 16 runs, Mushfiqur Rahim scored 38 runs and Mahmudullah scored 14 runs, taking Bangladesh to a total of 256 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the scheduled 50 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, and Jadeja took two wickets each for India.
Chasing Bangladesh’s target of 257 runs, Indian batsmen went on the offensive from the start, with openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill putting on an 88-run partnership, but then Rohit was dismissed for 48 runs.
Chasing the target, Gill scored a half-century but then returned to the pavilion after scoring 53 runs while Shreyas Iyer managed to score 19 runs. Virat Kohli once again batted responsibly and scored a magnificent century, the 48th of his ODI career. Kohli played an unbeaten innings of 103 runs against while KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 34 runs.
India easily chased down Bangladesh’s target of 257 runs in the 42nd over for the loss of three wickets and secured their fourth consecutive win in the event. Kohli was awarded the player of the match for his brilliant batting.
This is Bangladesh’s third defeat in the event.
Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli bowled in a one-day international for the first time in six years after all-rounder Hardik Pandya limped off midway through an over in Thursday’s World Cup match against Bangladesh.
It was the first time Kohli had bowled at this level since a 2017 return of 0-12 in two overs against Sri Lanka in Colombo — a match where he scored 131 in a crushing 168-run win.
Following a prolonged on-field treatment, Pandya tried running into bowl.
But clearly still in pain, he could only hobble towards the crease and eventually limped off, with key batsman Kohli completing the over to huge cheers from Indian fans. Virat gave two runs in the three balls when he completed the over.

Former India opener and current World Cup commentary panel member Gautam Gambhir expressed anger at Indian spectators for their inappropriate behavior towards the Pakistan team in Ahmedabad during the Pak-India match on October 14.
In a column published in Khaleej Times, Gautam Gambhir wrote, “Though our team India has won three out of three matches, I don’t think we have won the hearts of Indian cricket team supporters.”
“Our turnout at the ground during matches other than the Indian team has been extremely low which makes me wonder if we really love the game or are just obsessed with Indian superstars,” he wrote.
Gambhir also criticized the behavior of Indian fans towards opposing teams and wrote, “During the first match between Afghanistan and India in Delhi, the spectators abused Naveen-ul-Haq and continuously chanted Kohli-Kohli in front of him because in IPL there was an argument between the two, then later, we abused Babar Azam at the toss in Ahmedabad while shouting unnecessary slogans at the Pakistani batsmen while returning to the pavilion.”

Gambhir further wrote that it is unimaginable that a society which gave the world the “concept of ‘the whole world is one family’ could be so contradictory”.
Addressing his nation, the former cricketer wrote, “If we want to win the bid for the 2036 Olympic Games, we have to adopt a more neutral attitude.”
He mentioned that Pakistan team director Mickey Arthur also criticized the atmosphere and said that it does not seem like an ICC event.
“Also when I was commentating there in Ahmedabad, I was not at all proud to see such bigoted behavior,” Gambhir wrote.
The former cricketer wrote that he is in favor of competition in sports and supporting any team but, added, “That does not give us the license to abuse and humiliate the opposing team.”
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dismissed objections over the national cricket team showing their solidarity for Palestine on social media.
Pakistan cricket team is currently playing the ICC Cricket World Cup in India. On October 10, the national team’s wicketkeeper-batsman, Muhammad Rizwan, tweeted in support of Palestine, dedicating his performance in the win against Sri Lanka to the people of Gaza.

After his tweet, many Indian fans and anchors raised objections and complained to the International Cricket Council (ICC) which dismissed the objections and replied, “This is outside of the field and not in our domain, only their Cricket Board can take any action”.
Last night almost all of the national cricket team including Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmad, Usama Mir, Umar Akmal, Asif Ali, Bilawal Bhatti, Muhammad Nawaz, Abid Ali, Kamran Akmal, Azhar Ali, Noman Ali, Amer Yamin, Wasim Junior, Sohail Tanveer, Muhammad Abbas, Faheem Ashraf, Sahibzada Farhan and others posted pictures of the Palestinian flags on their social media accounts.
A storm of criticism was raised on social media by Indian fans, many of their cricket experts and anchors.
According to sources, PCB has dismissed all objections, stating: “The team’s expression of solidarity was a personal decision.”

Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma has been fined with three challans for violating traffic rules.
Pune police issued three challans to Rohit Sharma for over speeding on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Indian media has reported, adding that the cricketer was travelling from Mumbai to Pune for a match against Bangladesh.
Sharma’s over speeding has led to heavy criticism, with the traffic department stating that he should have traveled in the team bus instead of a speeding car during the World Cup.
Egypt’s star footballer Muhammad Saleh released an emotional video message in favor of the oppressed Palestinians who are victims of Israeli brutality in Gaza.
In his video message, Muhammad Saleh said that it is not always easy to talk at such a time.

Last night an Israeli air strike hit Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza, where thousands of innocent civilians were seeking medical treatment and shelter from Israel’s continuous bombing.
Gaza’s health ministry says there are at least 500 casualties in the hospital blast. An UN-run school, which was a shelter for refugees was also bombed. This was one of the deadliest air strikes by Israel in the history of the conflict. A direct attack on a hospital is an act of genocide, says a Palestinian Civil Defence spokesperson.

In the 16th match of the ICC ODI World Cup, New Zealand defeated Afghanistan by 149 runs and secured the first position on the points table by winning their fourth match in a row.
The match between Afghanistan and New Zealand was played in Chennai in which the Afghan team won the toss and decided to bowl.
New Zealand’s innings did not start well against Afghanistan, with four Kiwis getting out for 110. Opener Devon Conway was sent to the pavilion by Mujeebur Rahman for 20 runs, Will Young 54, and Richan Ravindra scored 32 runs and was dismissed by Azmatullah Umarzai while Daryl Mitchell was dismissed by Rashid Khan for one run. After the fall of four wickets, captain Tom Latham and Glenn Phillips batted responsibly and took over the team, putting together a brilliant partnership of 144 runs, both batsmen also scoring half-centuries.
However, Tom Latham was then dismissed for 68 and Glenn Phillips for 71. In the final overs, Chapman scored an unbeaten 25 and Santner scored seven runs, thus the Kiwis scored 288 runs for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs.
On behalf of Afghanistan, Naveen ul Haq and Azmatullah took two wickets each while Rashid Khan and Mujeebur Rehman took one wicket each.
Chasing New Zealand’s target of 289 runs, the entire Afghanistan team was bowled out for 139 runs in the 35th over. Rahmat Shah with 36 and Azmatullah Omarzai with 27 were the top scorers.
Lockie Ferguson and Mitchel Santner took three wickets each while Trent Boult took two wickets.
The ranking of ODI players has been released by the ICC. Pakistan captain Babar Azam has retained the first position while India’s Shubman Gill has maintained the second position in the ranking.
South Africa’s Quinton de Kock has moved up to the third position and South Africa’s Rasi van der Dusen has moved down to the fourth position.
The national team’s opening batsman Imam ul Haq is in the 10th position and Fakhar Zaman is in the 13th position.
In the ranking of ODI bowlers, Australia’s Josh Hazlewood is on the first, New Zealand’s Trent Boult is on the second, and India’s Mohammad Siraj is on the third position.
Among the ODI all-rounders, Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan is at the top.
