Passports, CNICs of PTI supporters to be blocked if involved in heckling, warns Rana Sanaullah

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah tweeted on Tuesday that a “so-called political party” and its leader “who suffers from insanity” have started a campaign based on hate and malice. Rana advised everyone, especially Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters, that if any supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) heckle them, they should make their videos from their mobile phones instead of responding to them.

“Make a video so that the hecklers can be identified and send it to Director FIA Cybercrime Wing through mail, or WhatsApp or tag FIA on social media after posting the video. Proper action will be taken against them, including blockage of passports and/or identity cards so that people’s right to freedom of movement under Article 15 is protected.”

Rana further added that if the hecklers start physical fights, the law permits self-defence.

In response to Rana Sana’s series of tweets, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that Rana Sanaullah is a “scarecrow” who is being used by someone else.

Chaudhry said that Rana “has the support of someone else”, which is why he is using this type of language.

Rana Sana justified his tweets and stated: “Let me make it clear that as public representatives, politicians are accountable to people and there is absolutely no restriction on asking questions. But action will be taken if any politician is harassed in the name of freedom of speech.”

PTI Chairman Imran Khan addressed a rally in Lodhran on Tuesday where he justified the heckling of Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal.

“You must have seen on social media that Ahsan Iqbal went to eat at McDonalds. He claims that Imran Khan has taught people to misbehave. O Ahsan Iqbal, you lying Aristotle. This is not misbehaviour, this is the truth: you’re a thief.”

Last week, a pro-PTI family hurled ‘chor chor’ at Iqbal at a restaurant on the Motorway. The family later apologised to Iqbal for their misbehaviour and visited him at his residence in Narowal.

  • One Euro is equal to one US dollar for the first time in 20 years

One Euro is equal to one US dollar for the first time in 20 years

The euro reached its lowest level in more than 20 years by 10:00 GMT on Tuesday, falling to $1.

The stock markets declined as a result of the euro’s parity with the dollar and the possibility of additional central bank tightening as well as concerns over the global economy’s stability.

Recent weeks have seen the US dollar soar to two-decade highs against a variety of other currencies, strengthening its position as the preferred currency for investors concerned about the economic outlook.

A continuing rise in natural gas prices’ impact on the local economy as well as the conflict in Ukraine have made the euro particularly vulnerable. The European Central Bank has lagged behind competitors in increasing interest rates.

The move towards parity, according to Mizuho analysts, is taking place as “the downturn in the eurozone is priced in,” and the overall environment does not appear to be improving risk sentiment.

For the European Union, this is a “catastrophe,” according to SG Futures, as energy imports may become more expensive.

“Energy supply is already unaffordable and as we head into winter it’ll likely get even worse,” it added on a tweet.

The dollar index has been moving higher as a result of the euro’s weakness, as well as concerns about global economic growth as China, in particular, enforces strict zero-COVID policies to control new outbreaks.

The presumption that the Federal Reserve will raise rates faster and further than peers is, however, arguably the main reason for the dollar’s increase.

A 10-year-old domestic worker in Lahore was beaten to death for taking out food from the refrigerator without the permission of the people he worked for. The house owners also brutally beat six year-old Rizwan, the younger brother of Kamran.

The police investigation has revealed that the prime suspect, Abul Hassan, who was arrested from Bahawalpur, wanted to marry the seven-year-old sister of Kamran. The minor girl was also recovered from Bahawalpur. Hassan was hiding in Bahwalpur to avoid his arrest, reports Dawn.

Abdul Hassan claimed to be a spiritual healer, and the father of the children used to visit Abdul Hassan.

Hassan himself was a follower of a spiritual healer living in Dera Ghazi Khan. Hassan told Irfan, the father of the children, that his spiritual healer has asked him to marry an underage girl. Irfan then handed over his daughter to Hassan in a ceremony held in Dera Ghazi Khan.
