    Anchorperson Dr Shahid Masood apologised to senior journalist Najam Sethi on his political talk show ‘Live with Dr Shahid Masood’ on Gourmet News Network (GNN) for making baseless allegations a few years ago.

    Masood on his show stated that he would like to apologise to Sethi for making baseless allegations against him. Masood had used the phrase ’35 puncture’ and had alleged that Sethi rigged the 2013 general elections and helped Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) when he was caretaker chief minister Punjab.

    “I got the information through a man whom I didn’t expect would say such a thing. Later, I tried searching for that man but he disappeared and could not be found,” said Shahid Masood.

    Accepting that his accusations were wrong, Masood apologised for his false claims.

    Later during the programme, Masood expressed his desire to have tea at Sethi’s residence when he visits Lahore next.

    He claimed that just like Najam Sethi’s chiriya (sparrow), he too has a kabootar (pigeon).

    Pakistani actor Sadia Khan has extended support for Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan who is facing an alleged drugs case. The Khuda Aur Mohabbat star wrote in her Instagram stories, “This is very sad now dirty politics dragging Aryan into this mess for no strong reason.”

    She further demanded release of Aryan.

    “Allah bless you and your family,” she added while using the hashtag #IStandWithSRK, followed by a heart emoji.

    Earlier, Simi Raheel came in support of Aryan Khan saying that being a Muslim celebrity has been its crime.

    A special court in Mumbai on Thursday extended the judicial custody of eight accused in the Mumbai cruise drugs bust case, Aryan Khan and Arbaaz Merchant, till October 30.

    On the work front, Sadia was last seen in a music video, Tera Deewana co-starring Imran Ashraf.

  • FBR issues notice to Multan’s ‘richest’ beggar

    The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a notice to Multan’s ‘richest’ beggar, Shaukat ‘Bikhari’, after finding out his assets, ARY News reported. 

    The notice was sent to Shaukat as the FBR unearthed Rs1.7 million deposit in his bank account, while his children are enrolled in an expensive school.

    FBR asked the beggar to show the sources of his income and why he had failed to submit his tax returns. FBR also questioned how he managed to buy life insurance of Rs10 million for his children. 

    Some reports claim that Shaukat absconded after receiving the notice from FBR. A team has been formed to trace his whereabouts. 

    A video went viral on social media showing Shaukat saying that he is a resident of Multan’s Shah Jamal area and had been begging in the area and earning Rs1,000 per day.

    Shaukat Tarin leaves US without concluding talks with IMF

    Adviser to the Prime Minister (PM) on Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin left Washington on Thursday without concluding the talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), reports Dawn.

    The minister, however, left Finance Secretary Yousaf Khan behind to further carry on the talks for the resumption of a $6 billion loan facility that would bring immediate relief to the government by delivering a suspended tranche of $1billion.

    Tarin first came to Washington in early October and went to New York on October 15.

    Tarin met IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and other officials twice, and after both meetings, each side expressed the hope that the consultations would soon lead to a positive conclusion.

    However, Tarin quietly left Washington on Thursday. He may join PM Khan who is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia this weekend.

    The Parchi hero kicked off his wedding festivities on Wednesday with a Mayun nearly seven months after his Nikkah in April. He had tied the knot with Zunaira Inam in a simple ceremony due to coronavirus restrictions in Islamabad.

    Usman’s mayun was an intimate affair attended by close friends and family. But his mehndi was a star-studded event with Hareem Farooq, Osman Khalid, Ahmed Ali Akbar, Simi Raheal, Tara Mahmood, Ameer Gilani and Mariyam Nafees in attendance.

    The night featured some dynamic performances by Osman, Uzair and Ahmed, who ensured they set the dance floor on fire.

    The Sabaat star chose a black prince suit for the occasion and Zunaira a purple and gold lehenga with light jewelry. A video shows Zunaira dancing her heart out to the song Ghungroo when the music abruptly stops. She continues dancing, however, singing the song loud and clear with the guests.

    While the Anaa actor killed it with dapper dance moves as well.

    Usman has been receiving praise for playing Aswad alongside Mahira Khan and Kubra Khan in Hum TV’s Hum Kahan ke Sachay Thay.

    “Few glimpse of the shoot which me and my fellow trans divas did for the brand @zartashcouture” couture daughter of @hanifjewellers both are transphobic organisations how do I know this is the question well I met the owner and team few people are super cool but the owners aghhh they gave me weird feeling but as i told you all we have to give benefit of doubt in many case,” she wrote while sharing the pictures from the shoot.”

    She continued by adding that the fashion brand paid them, “equal to nothing.”

    “No contracts nothing it was just like hey we need to shoot the documentary today and shoot will be on this day. We did it leaving everything we were doing we did it because we were so happy that we were given this chance in real it became another disappointment when I came to know that they will not upload this shoot they uploaded the trailer which said coming soon but it never came on their story or any page,” she added.

    “I kept asking about the shoot and at one point they stopped replying and then one day i uploaded a story about it suddenly they started calling and texting me asking me to remove the story and all and i did but finally tonight I feel like this work should not be wasted hence here it is.”

    American actor Alec Baldwin accidentally shoots woman on movie set

    American actor Alec Baldwin accidentally fired a prop gun on a New Mexico film set, a woman has died and a man has been injured.

    As per details, the woman, Halyna Hutchins, was flown to hospital by helicopter but died of her injuries. The man, director Joel Souza, was receiving emergency care.

    A spokesperson for Baldwin told AP news agency the incident involved the misfiring of a prop gun with blanks.

    Hutchins, 42, was working on the set as director of photography. Souza, 48, was taken from the scene by ambulance, but details of his injuries have not been disclosed.

    Police are still investigating the incident at Bonanza Creek Ranch, a popular filming location, and no charges have been filed.

    In a statement to AFP news agency, a Santa Fe sheriff spokesman said Mr Baldwin had spoken to detectives.

    “He came in voluntarily and he left the building after he finished his interviews,” the spokesman said.

    According to her personal website, Hutchins was from Ukraine and grew up on a Soviet military base in the Arctic Circle. She studied journalism in Kyiv, and film in Los Angeles, and was named a “rising star” by the American Cinematographer magazine in 2019.

    She was the director of photography for the 2020 action film Archenemy, directed by Adam Egypt Mortimer.

    “I’m so sad about losing Halyna. And so infuriated that this could happen on a set,” Mortimer said in a tweet.

    Roads have been blocked in Islamabad and Lahore and Metro Bus service in Rawalpindi has been suspended because of the ongoing protests organised by the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in these cities, reported Geo News.

    Islamabad Traffic Police have issued a traffic plan as the city braces to deal with TLP protests today (Friday). TLP’s protest is reportedly moving from Lahore to the federal capital for a long march.

    Containers have been placed at various points in Lahore, including the Samanabad turn at Multan Road and at the Grid Station Stop. Containers have also been placed at the Dubai Chowk in Iqbal Town’s Boulevard area to stop protesters from assembling. 

    Earlier, the Ministry of Interior had written to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to suspend internet services in Lahore due to TLP protests.  

    Strict security measures have been taken in Rawalpindi as authorities have blocked and placed containers on several roads.

    Senior journalist Saleem Safi, while speaking on Geo News programme, ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath’, said, “Ladlay ki niki niki khawaahishein puri hogayi hain” [ Favourite’s small small wishes have been fulfilled]. Safi was alluding to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan. His comments come in connection to the notification of the appointment of the new Director-General (DG) of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency. The sources close to the PM Khan said that most probably the notification of the new appointment would be issued on Friday (today).

    Anchorperson Shahzeb Khanzada further asked Safi that the Opposition is on the roads against the government but the ruling party seems very relaxed and if there is any strategy behind this because they do not consider the protests of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) a threat.

    “Where is the Opposition? I have not seen any Opposition in this country for the past three years. The tragedy is such that the ones who have been given the government do not know how to do governance and the ones in the Opposition do not know how to do Opposition,” replied Safi.

    Khanzada questioned senior journalist Asma Shirazi if there is any political strategy with which the Opposition plans on ousting the sitting government?

    “Definitely a strategy will be made. The Opposition is relaxed and just reviewing what is happening right now. There is a lot of miss trust with the institutions,” replied Shriazi.
