Quetta Civil hospital doctors perform surgery with cell phone light

Doctors at Civil Hospital Quetta were forced to perform surgery under cell phone light because of the constant power outage due to heavy rain and snowfall in the provincial capital. The hospital had no backup power as there was no generator in place either.

According to a statement issued by Balochistan Young Doctors’ Association (YDA), the trauma and emergency centre in the hospital was in terrible condition due to the incompetence of its managing director.

YDA spokesperson Rahim Khan Babar revealed that there was a lack of equipment and medicines. The operation theatre did not have slippers for the patients and the x-ray machines and other apparatus automatically shut down due to power breakdown.

He added that Balochistan CM Jam Kamal, Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Jamal Mandokhail and provincial Health Secretary Muddasir Waheed have visited the hospital but no development and improvement was witnessed.

Earlier, the CM promised to ensure facilities for poor citizens in the hospital during his visit.

Babar urged the CM to take notice of the situation and resolve it as soon as possible because precious lives were put at risk. He also stressed the management to make contractual staff permanent employees to improve the situation of the hospital.

Video: PM Khan loses his way in Parliament

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday lost his way in Parliament House.

After attending a meeting of the PTI parliamentary committee, PM Khan started walking towards his chamber in the Assembly. PM Khan was so busy talking to Interior Minister Ijaz Shah that he suddenly found himself in unknown territory.

He asked his security official where he was. “Where are you taking me?” asked a perplexed prime minister in a corridor. His security officer then told him that this secret passage will also take him to the Assembly Hall.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Twitter did not leave a chance to troll the PM.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time, PM Imran got lost in the National Assembly.

Interestingly, PM Imran wasn’t the only one who lost his way in parliament yesterday. PML-N MNA Maiza Hameed went to the room where PTI parliamentary committee was being held instead of PML-N meeting.

    Twitter didn’t even spare Hameed.

DG ISPR Gen Asif Ghafoor praises Deepika for being ‘a brave person’

DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor praised #DeepikaPadukone for being a brave person and “standing both with youth and the truth.”

However, later he deleted his tweet for reasons unknown.

Deepika won the appreciation of the public after she visited Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) to stand in solidarity with the students who were protesting after masked assailants wielding batons and iron rods attacked the university leaving more than two dozen injured.

According to an Indian journalist, the masked mob was linked to a BJP linked student group. They barged into hostel rooms and assaulted left-wing students and also beat up visually impaired people. There were reports that they were carrying acid as well.

Deepika’s presence at the protest signifies that she is most likely standing with them in protest of these BJP-linked attacks and not the tuition fees hike protests that had been happening at the university earlier. The hostel fee hike is an ongoing issue and protests were held against it previously.

Meanwhile, several other Bollywood personalities including Vishal Bharadwaj, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dia Mirza, Rahul Bose, Richa Chadha and Taapsee Pannu led hundreds of people in a peaceful protest against the violence.

Controversy over Sunday’s violence at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) comes as a new challenge to the government as it confronts major nationwide protests against a new citizenship bill that critics say is anti-Muslim.

Students blamed the university attack on right-wing activists and also accused the police of doing nothing to stop the violence.

According to AFP, at least 28 students and teachers were injured in this attack, while doctors and nurses from a nearby hospital who went to treat them were also attacked.

not feel thirsty. Set alarms just to remind yourself that you have to grab a
    glass of water.

    Use a gentle cleanser

natural moisture. If your skin feels tight after you’ve cleansed, you may be
stripping your skin. Your skin should feel both hydrated and free from
irritation after cleansing. And don’t forget to drink lots and lots of water.

     Protect
    your lips

Normally we do not pay much attention to our lips but the
skin on your lips can also get dry and cracked during winter months. Try a lip
balm for added daily protection, and if you plan to be in the sun, use the
proper SPF to protect your lips from the sun’s potential damage.

     Body
    bonuses

It’s the season for creamy body lotions, foot balms and
moisturizing masks. Treat yourself to regular at-home spa moments to rejuvenate
and replenish dry and flakey skin.

     At
    home

The weather may be chilly outside, but inside, the
conditions could be affecting your skin. Use a humidifier and if you are using
a gas or electric heater, try to put a pot full of water in front of your
heater so that your skin does not become dry. Preferably maintain a neutral
temperature at home that will maintain the skin’s moisture and balance.

While Nida loves her audiences and is always willing to interact with them, in an exclusive interview with The Current revealed that she doesn’t allow male fans to take selfies with her.

When asked what is the worst thing about hosting a morning show, Nida, “You’re not left with any privacy. No matter where you go, to the bazaar or anywhere – I like to meet them [my fans] – but when I’m out with my guests and they have to stop and wait while I click pictures with my fans, I don’t like that,” adding that she can’t even say no.

Nida then shared that she never gets photographed by her male fans.

“It’s a rule,” she said. “The reason is because I have seen photographs of a lot of actresses on random pages with captions. They [other actresses] must’ve posed considering them their fans but the captions on Facebook etc say ‘Meet my friend, [XYZ].’”

“I don’t judge anyone ever since, but I’ll get photographed with families, with female friends, but not with male fans,” she remarked.

Arab-American actor Ramy Youssef who won a Golden Globe Award for best comedy actor for his role in the comedy series Ramy sent fans in frenzy after he thanked God and said ‘Allahu Akhbar’ while accepting the award.

Starting his acceptance speech with Allahu Akbar and thanking Allah, Ramy said, “We made a very specific show about an Arab Muslim family living in New Jersey and this means a lot to be recognised on this level.”

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon presented the award to Youssef.

Speaking to reporters after the event, Youssef said, “I was going to say it anyway. I’m very thankful to God, and my show is about someone who believes in their faith, so I naturally don’t always feel like I’m on the same page with the comedic styles of Ricky Gervais on that subject.”

He also joked on how he is unknown compared to his fellow nominees.

“Look, I know you guys haven’t seen my show. Everyone’s like, ‘Is this an editor?’ We made a very specific show about an Arab Muslim family living in New Jersey, and this means a lot to be recognised on this level” he said.

Ramy explores the experience of a young Egyptian-American Muslim man living in New Jersey, who believes in God and embraces his heritage, while blending them with his American life. The comedy is loosely based on Youssef’s life and his experiences as a stand-up comedian.
