We may not see much iof him on our television screens but Adnan Malik sure has made a mark ever since he made his television debut opposite Mahira Khan in Sadqay Tumharay. The immensely popular drama was directed by Mohammed Ehteshamuddin and written by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar and based on his own life story.
Brother of Baaji director Saqib Malik, Adnan has only a handful of projects under his belt, but each one of them have been meaningful and offbeat – for instance Cake, which was also his last project. Apart from that, the actor is popular for his woke and eloquent comments.
While we wondered why Adnan is missing from the scene, the actor took to social media to pen an emotional note in which he narrated his life story, his battle with low self-esteem, how he ended up doing Sadqay Tumharay and why he doesn’t want to do just any project.
“I see acting as a way to honour myself, to connect to a deeper spiritual self and a way to confront my own demons. I can’t take it lightly.”
Prime Minister Imran Khan launched an app for drug prevention. The “Zindagi” app has been introduced by the government to stop drug penetration in society.

The federal government has launched this app to curb drug addiction in the country and to educate people about it. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the purpose of the “Zindagi” app is to build a drug-free society. The mobile app will have all the information on drug use and its repercussions.
Meanwhile, watch what happens to the drugs that are seized by the Anti-Narcotics Force.
Three men who robbed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s nephew’s house have been arrested by the police.
According to reports, the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) also recovered the looted valuables from their possession.
PM Khan’s nephew’s Shershah Khan’s house was robbed in the early hours of Saturday.
According to the FIR registered by Shershah, three unidentified persons entered his house around 4 am and stole a Rs3 million cheque, jewellery and an old pistol that belonged to his grandfather. The FIR added that the robbers forced Shershah’s wife to sign the cheque.
Police had suspected the involvement of the gardener’s son and media reports had suggested that the robbers entered through a door that was accidentally left open.
Shershah is the younger son of PM Khan’s sister Aleema Khan.

Joaquin Phoenix, who played a terrifying Joker in 2019’s blockbuster Joker may have taken home the award for the best actor at the annual Golden Globes, but it was actually Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston who stole the spotlight as fans anticipated their public reunion. The two have rarely crossed paths in public since their split.
So. Jennifer Aniston’s table is right next to Brad Pitt’s. I am HERE for THAT. #GoldenGlobes
Brad and Jennifer, who were married from 2000 to 2005, made their red carpet appearance approximately 20 minutes apart, each selectively working the press line. The two were also nominated for Golden Globe Awards – while Jennifer was nominated in the best actress category for her work on The Morning Show, Pitt was nominated for best supporting actor for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Brad said, “I’ll run into Jen; she’s a good friend. The second most important reunion of her year.”
Jennifer Aniston
Interestingly, the Pitt/Aniston attention didn’t end on the red carpet.
As Pitt was telling a joke about his mom after his win for best supporting actor, the camera shot to Aniston, who was watching intently.
“I wanted to bring my mom, but I couldn’t because anyone I stand next to, they say I’m dating,” he said. “So it’d just be awkward.”
Meanwhile, here’s a list of the winners of the 77th annual Golden Globe Awards, presented in Beverly Hills, California.

Twitter has reacted to Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry’s invitation to American billionaire and owner of Tesla, Elon Musk, to establish a car factory in Pakistan in a rather amusing way.
Taking to Twitter and tagging Musk, the minister had on Sunday replied to a news story regarding an announcement by the United States (US) automaker to build half a million electric vehicles a year at its future factory outside Berlin.
“Dear Elon Musk your next destination may be Pakistan where 68 per cent of world population lives within 3.5 hours flight radius from Islamabad,” tweeted Fawad.

“We offer ten years zero tax facility and custom free import for factory setup, no other country may offer, plus we are the world’s 3rd biggest freelance software exporters,” he added.
It wasn’t later that Fawad’s proposal attracted trolls, especially from India.
According to reports, Tesla is planning to build half a million electric vehicles a year at its future factory outside Berlin.
Planning documents posted online Friday reveal that the US automaker wants to construct Model 3 and Model Y vehicles at the site in Gruenheide, as well as “future models.”
The so-called Gigafactory – Tesla’s fourth – will include facilities to assemble entire electric vehicles, including the production of batteries.
The plans will have to undergo an environmental impact review and public consultation.
Tesla aims to start operating the plant in July 2021, an optimistic time frame by German standards.
Construction of a nearby airport for Berlin began in 2006 and the opening has been delayed for eight years.
Educational institutes across Punjab will now have longer vacations than planned. The Punjab education department extended the vacations on Monday.
Schools and colleges were supposed to open on Monday, January 6, after winter holidays but the education department extended vacations due to the weather. They will now open on January 12.
Education Minister Murad Raas confirmed that the extension was because of the cold weather.

An $80 million bounty has been placed on United States (US) President Donald Trump’s head in the wake of General Qasem Soleimani’s assassination and the dramatic escalation that followed, a foreign media outlet has reported.
During the televised funeral of the top Iranian military leader, official state broadcasters said one US dollar would be tabled for every Iranian in the country, with the cash going to whoever killed the US president.
“Iran has 80 million inhabitants. Based on the Iranian population, we want to raise $80 million which is a reward for those who get close to the head of President Trump,” it was announced, according to en24.
Commander of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, Soleimani was killed in a US airstrike last week. The attack took long-running hostilities between Washington and Tehran into uncharted territory and raised the spectre of wider conflict in the Middle East.
While Trump has threatened “major retaliation” if Iran avenges the killing, Iran has announced it was further reducing compliance with a tattered international nuclear accord, ending limitations on numbers of centrifuges used to enrich uranium.
The government of Pakistan freed 20 Indian fishermen as a sign of goodwill from the Malir District Prison. The fishermen have returned to their homeland with nothing but good memories from Pakistan.
Indian fisherman Gir Somnath on his release from prison said, “We were arrested at sea by the Pakistan Coast Guard for crossing over to Pakistan waters in November 2018. At the time we prepared ourselves for the worst. But our 14 months in jail has helped clear all misconceptions about this country we used to see as our enemy earlier.”
“Whatever we used to hear in the news about Pakistan seemed like a piece of fiction while we were in prison here,” he added.
Speaking further, the fisherman said, “We are taking back with us good memories of Malir jail. We never felt like we were in another country here. The jail staff was nice to us. They told us that they knew that we were here due to our ill fate. We were not real criminals so they were not treating us as such while providing us with all kinds of facilities.”
The Indian fishermen, most of whom belong to the
Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, were handed over to the Edhi Foundation by the
jail police. They boarded the train to Lahore from the Cantonment Railway
Station.
Meanwhile, 199 Indian prisoners including 189 fishermen and 10 civilians are still in jails in Pakistan.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government’s new Education Minister Akbar Ayub hasn’t studied beyond matric, Geo News has reported.
In a major cabinet reshuffle made by the KP chief minister (CM) on Saturday, Ayub was handed reins of the education department. He was earlier serving as the minister for communication and works department.
According to reports, KP provincial assembly’s official website shows that Ayub’s educational qualification is matric. The same has been listed in an affidavit submitted by the education minister, which also states his occupation as a businessman and a landlord.

Speaking to Geo News, the minister said that his education qualification “did not matter”. Ayub said he was experienced in educational and administrative affairs.
Backing his statement, KP Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai said Ayub had vast administrative experience.
“It does not matter what degree he holds,” said Yousafzai. “He has studied from a reputable institute and is a capable man.”
In a separate video message, Yousafzai said one should not question Ayub’s capabilities solely due to the fact that he had not studied beyond matriculation level.
“He left for Canada to pursue the construction business while he was in grade 12,” said the information minister. “He is a skilled man and we should extract benefit from his experience and capabilities.”
Yousafzai said the education minister could speak to foreign diplomats and dignitaries as “his English is the best”. He said since education had been bifurcated into two parts, Ayub was given charge of the elementary education, not secondary.
“He has to run an institute and for that, he has ample experience in the past as a minister,” he said.
