The PTI founder levelled the allegations during a hearing of a £190 million settlement case in Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail, telling an accountability court judge that Bushra Bibi had marks on her skin and tongue.

He also requested the court for an investigation into the matter by conducting a medical examination on the former first lady.

Government says X is a national security threat

The Federal Interior Ministry’s joint secretary told the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that “content uploaded on the internet” is a “threat” to Pakistan’s national security.

Journalist Ehtesham Abbasi had filed a petition in IHC against the closure of X, formerly Twitter.

X has been inaccessible in the country since February 17 and millions of users have been deprived of their basic rights.

Justice Aamer Farooq heard the plea and asked the interior ministry about any written communication of the closure. “What is this method? What is this attitude? Assist the court,” said the IHC CJ, adding that everything is “closed and jammed”.

The court expressed reservations that if the matter is as serious as national security then it should have been given in official writing. “Show us the documents. There will be no verbal conversation,” asserted Justice Farooq.

“You closed X on the Intelligence Bureau’s (IB) report. There are no reasons written in it, only a report based on speculation,” he added.

  • Israeli President apologises for deaths of Gaza aid workers

Israeli President apologises for deaths of Gaza aid workers

Israeli President Isaac Herzog apologised Tuesday for the air strike that killed seven aid workers in Gaza.

Herzog said he spoke to Jose Andres, the US-based celebrity chef who heads the aid group World Central Kitchen, to express his “deep sorrow and sincere apologies over the tragic loss of life”.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had earlier stopped short of apologising for the deaths, which he described as a “tragic case” that would be investigated “right to the end”.

“It happens in war… we will do everything so that this thing does not happen again,” he added.

AFPTV footage showed the roof of a white vehicle emblazoned with the group’s logo punctured with a blackened hole, alongside the mangled wreckage of other vehicles.

World Central Kitchen had earlier said a “targeted attack” by Israeli forces on Monday had killed its staff, which included Australian, British, Palestinian, Polish and US-Canadian citizens.

The charity, which has been delivering food aid to Gaza’s starving population, said its convoy was clearly marked and it had coordinated with the Israeli military to avoid any danger.

Since October 7 attack, Gaza has been under a near-complete siege, with the United Nations accusing Israel of preventing deliveries of humanitarian assistance to the 2.4 million Palestinians in the devastated territory.

UN agencies have repeatedly warned that northern Gaza is on the verge of famine, calling the situation a man-made crisis.

But Herzog said Israel was committed to “delivering and upgrading humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza”.

The Israeli military also said Tuesday they were looking at ways to coordinate safe aid deliveries.

The bloodiest-ever Gaza war erupted with the October 7 attack, which resulted in about 1,160 deaths in Israel, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally of Israeli official figures.

Israeli genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, has killed at least 32,916 people, mostly women and children, according to the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza.

  • Sahir Ali Bagga demands credit from Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for ‘Zaroori Tha’

Sahir Ali Bagga demands credit from Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for ‘Zaroori Tha’

The ongoing dispute between Sahir Ali Bagga and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has escalated to new heights. Bagga has now taken to Facebook to express his grievances, asking for proper credit as the composer of the popular song ‘Zaruri Tha’.

Despite his apology in the end, Bagga remains firm in his stance, urging Khan to acknowledge his contribution to the project. As tensions continue, the ongoing conflict between these two musical giants keeps grabbing attention in the headlines.
A few days ago, Bagga made headlines after calling out Rahat Fateh Ali Khan blatantly.

The singer recently explained why he wrote against Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. He stated that as a committed composer, he seeks proper credit for the composition of the hit song ‘Zaruri Tha’, which has achieved significant success on YouTube.

“The desire of a star maker is not just money. I am also a composer whom I am very proud of that my ALLAH has given me the ability to work hard for the talent of my country, and there is no doubt that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is the best talent of Pakistan. I have always tried to make the talent of our Pakistan recognized all over the world, and in helping this initiative, Yousaf Salahudin Sahab helped me in the form of Virsa Heritage, and many stars were also made. I created a song, titled (ZAROORI THAA), this is the song that I myself did not know that I would create this song and it would become a historical song of the Pakistan music industry, today, this song is at the top in terms of Pakistani music industry, and content, it’s very close to 2 billion views on YouTube in one play, and if my right is only to be given as a creator, which only the hero of this project Rahat Fateh Ali Khan can give; and for some reason he is not giving it, he should explain why he is not giving me the credit for this achievement. And if I have called someone a hypocrite, then I have called every person a hypocrite who wants to hide the truth and is trying to kill someone’s right, ALLAH has blessed Rahat Fateh Ali Khan with good abilities, he should give me my right as a humanity. I have many other pieces of evidence with me and on YouTube where Rahat Fateh Ali Khan did not give me credit, I still request that I be given credit because I do not want the juniors who idealize me to face problems in their struggle, and I should be given my right. Apart from this, I have no intention of saying anything bad about anyone. Thank you”
