A Lahore-based reporter is receiving criticism for asking a bizarre question during a media interaction with Pakistan Women Football Team. The interaction was held in Lahore. The video was shared by Sports journalist Muneeb Farrukh.
The reporter asked the panel why they could not play in leggings instead of shorts.
Adeel Rizki, the head coach of the Pakistani women’s football team while responding to the question said that one should think progressively when it comes to sports. He added that the issue of uniforms is not in his control.

The reporter is facing backlash for moral policing female athletes and questioning their choice of dressing.
Have a look at Twitter reactions:
Did the Islamic republic of Pakistan’s journalist ever bothered to ask when money is stolen? When positions are exploited? When corruption is done? Why does all this boil down to the clothes of women? I wish them to be vocal about every wrong deed in our country. https://t.co/bdAnPMN3Xw
My blood is boiling. I am so sick of the conversation always being about women’s clothing in Pakistan. Fix your life, do something for your country instead of always focusing on what women are wearing instead of how much they have achieved.
The Government of Pakistan’s official Twitter account is with held in India.
Indian Journalist Suhasini Haider who is currently covering the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s (SCO) Council of Heads of State (CHS) Summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, tweeted a picture of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Vladimir Putin of Russia having a conversation. Government of Pakistan’s Twitter handle originally shared the picture.
Pakistan govt handle calls Putin-Sharif tete a tete at SCO the “photo of the moment” https://t.co/8cpVgPRJDN
Moments after Haider tweeted, one of her followers pointed out that her quoted tweet can’t be seen in India as there is a chance it has been withheld in India.
This quoted tweet can’t be seen in India it seems- it has been withheld in India.
On September 13, Twitter’s former security chief, Peiter Zatko, told a US Senate hearing that the Indian government forced the micro blogging website to hire two persons who were likely “government agents” and had access to sensitive user data. Zatko had alleged in a complaint filed in August that Twitter had violated it’s agreement with users by giving access to their data to a government agent.
Zatko also told the hearing that it was his belief that the government agent was placed at Twitter by the BJP government to asses if the social media giant would be willing to agree with censorship demands.
The girl had filed a complaint against the Chinese national at the Koral police station in the capital.
According to First Information Report (FIR), the 16-year-old girl is a grade 9 student who has been working as a translator for a Chinese national on a monthly pay of Rs15,000 since May 2021. The man raped her for months, threatening her with dire consequences if she resisted.
The girl became pregnant but did not tell her family. Her elder sister, however, found out and rushed her to a private hospital in F-8, where doctors found her to be over 31 weeks pregnant. Later, the sister approached the police to file a report.
According to the police, the suspect had been arrested and his passport has also been confiscated.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has imposed a fine of Rs.50,000 on Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan, and other party leaders.
The fine was imposed on them for violating the code of conduct issued for the upcoming by-elections by participating in a rally in Peshawar despite the commission’s warning.
On September 6, PTI held a rally in the provincial capital Immediately after Imran’s arrival on stage, YouTube’s access in the country appeared blocked or greatly slowed down.
Following the violation, District Monitoring Officer (DMO), Peshawar, Shahabuddin, had served notices to Khan, the Chief Minister and others, seeking an explanation. They appeared before the DMO and submitted written replies.
However, the DMO deemed the reply unsatisfactory and imposed a fine of Rs50,000 on each of the leaders, directing them to deposit the fine to the state exchequer by September 18.
It is pertinent to mention that a day before the Peshawar rally, the DMO had asked PTI not to attend the rally and warned of legal action.
Another PTI rally is scheduled to be held in Charsadda on September 17 and for that, the commission sent letters to the KP governor and chief minister asking them not to attend it.
This is not the first time that a fine has been imposed on PTI leaders. In March, ECP slapped a fine of Rs50,000 on Imran Khan, CM Mahmood Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi and others for violating the code of conduct as they all attended a public gathering in Swat on March 16 ahead of the no-confidence motion.
Konstantinos Koutoupis, a Greek hairstylist knows how to give a nice hairstyle and that too in less than a minute.
Koutoupis has set a Guinness World Record for the fastest haircut in just 47 seconds.
In a video that has now gone viral on social media, the hairstylist can be seen trimming a man’s hair in an utmost effortless way.
He swiftly moves the trimmer on the model’s head with a comb to grip the hair in his other hand. The stylist stops and raises his hands right after the timer strikes the mark of 47 seconds.
His name was then entered into the Guinness World Records after the judges measured the length of the hair to ensure that the work was completed properly.
Guinness World Records tweeted the video with the message, “Need a quick trim? How about a 45-second trim?”
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has responded to Shahid Afridi’s claim that the board did not cover the expenses of Shaheen Shah Afridi’s medical treatment in London.
“It goes without saying that the PCB has always been and will continue to be responsible for arranging medical care and rehabilitation of all its players requiring any treatment,” the PCB said in a statement. Faizan Lakhani reported for Geo News that Shaheen Shah Afridi did pay for his own ticket from Dubai to London.
Shahid Afridi earlier revealed that Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi did not get any support from the PCB for his knee rehabilitation in London.
Talking to The Current, Shahid Afridi said that he arranged the doctor for Shaheen in England. Lala said that it is quite disappointing that the PCB has not made any effort to rehabilitate Pakistan’s star bowler.
“Shaheen went to England at his own expense. I arranged for a doctor there after his knee injury. PCB should have taken an initiative. After all, their star bowler was battling an injury. Instead, Shaheen and I had to make an effort. This is unacceptable that players have to do this on their own. It is the responsibility of the Board to help cricketers but they are not bothered, unfortunately,” said Afridi.
“I would make an effort for any and all players of Pakistan who have performed for the country. It is sad when they’re not supported by the PCB,” added Lala.
Shaheen was ruled out of the T20 Asia Cup 2022. Pakistan lost the final match to Sri Lanka.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz has said that religion should not be used for political benefits and blasted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan for allegedly using faith for political gain.
“Using religion for personal motives is very bad. I have suffered this and I am a victim”, she said while talking to members of the media.
“I think religion is a personal matter but it does not remain a personal matter when you say in rallies that ‘voting for PML-N is a sin and voting for me [Imran] is righteous and if my party members switch loyalties then it’s shirk’,” she stated, referring to a recent controversy speech given by Imran Khan at a rally.
“Shirk’s definition is associating partners with God. Are you changing the entire dictionary and the meaning of religion for your disgusting politics,” she asked the former Prime Minister.
Shirk is considered to be one of the most heinous sins in Islam.
“I think all institutions, whether the judiciary or army or politicians or government, should acknowledge he [Khan] is a fitna (chaotic miscreant) who was launched for destruction and from whom no one is safe.”
Maryam said that she is not in favour of fuel or electricity price increases.
“I will request the government to focus on it. I don’t support this decision and it should be corrected. However, it will take time to stabilise the economy after what Imran Khan did,” she said, adding that PM Shehbaz Sharif has saved the country from default and slowly the economy will begin to revive.
Moreover, the PML-N vice president asked Khan to dissolve the provincial assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) if he wants fresh general elections.
Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif is expected to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on September 19 in London, United Kingdom.
The premier will reportedly reach London on September 17. Other than PM Shehbaz, United States (US) President Joe Biden and Japanese PM Fumio Kishida will also participate in the funeral along with almost 2000 other guests.
The coffin of Queen Elizabeth II is now at London’s Westminster Hall, where the monarch will lie in state before her state funeral on Monday.
The Queen’s son, King Charles III, was joined by his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, and other members of the royal family as he walked behind the coffin during its procession route on Wednesday en route to Westminster Hall.
During this two-day tour, PM Shehbaz will also meet his brother Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif. He and three key cabinet members, who are currently in Samarkand, will embark on a visit to London on September 17.
Earlier this week, Pakistan observed a national day of mourning over the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
One of the best-known and most imitated monuments in the world— the Eiffel Tower— will shut down its lights earlier than usual due to the ongoing energy crisis in Europe.
The decision was announced by Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo. The government’s plan includes aiming to save 10 per cent of Paris’ energy consumption during winters. Not just the famed tower but all of the city’s municipal buildings will turn off their lights starting at 10pm. However, public lighting will remain switched on in the city for the safety of its citizens.
The earlier shutting off of the Eiffel Tower lights will begin on September 21. All lights will be switched off at 11:45pm when visiting time has ended.
It is pertinent to mention that the tower makes up about 4 per cent of the monument’s annual energy expenses.
Earlier, it was usually illuminated in golden hues within less than 10 minutes of nightfall and has an hourly 5-minute show of dazzling sparkles until 1am.
Other actions in the mayor’s plan include lowering temperatures in public buildings, reducing water temperature in swimming pools, and axing hot water in administrative buildings and some public buildings.
Europe’s energy crisis is one of the many setbacks of Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. When the war broke out in Ukraine, European nations overwhelmingly supported the young country in its defense against Russian forces. But, historical reliance on Russian energy exports has left the continent reeling under rising energy costs.
Apple has officially launched the iPhone 14 series, including the top-tier iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models.
If you’re unsure whether to upgrade to the iPhone 14 Pro Max or stay with the iPhone 13 Pro Max, you should be aware of all the differences between the two flagships so you can assess whether the upgrade is worthwhile.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max might be just as powerful but in a more user-friendly shape with a narrower overall screen aspect ratio and a thinner screen border.
iPhone 14 Pro Max Vs. iPhone 13 Pro Max major differences
New 48MP main camera
Satellite connectivity
Always-on display
Pill-shaped punch hole (aka the Dynamic Island)
Thinner borders, taller aspect ratio for the screen
Faster A16 Bionic chip
The iPhone 14 Pro Max from Apple features the new Apple A16 Bionic CPU, a massive improvement over the A15 chipset seen in the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The iPhone 14 Pro was apparently intended to be Apple’s first device with a 3nm CPU, but it appears that problems will prevent that from happening, and the A16 may instead be constructed using 4nm technology, a smaller step up from the 5nm process used on the 13 series.
Let’s dive into the new camera features of the latest Apple iPhone, despite the fact that it has long been a leader in camera quality, particularly for video recording.
First, the main camera now has a larger 48-megapixel sensor, a massive improvement over the 12-megapixel camera from the previous iteration.
The long-awaited periscope lens is one feature that won’t be included on the iPhone 14 Pro Max. iPhones will not be able to match native long-range zoom lenses this year, something Android rivals like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra have possessed for several years.
The battery life on the iPhone 13 Pro Max has improved over its predecessor, in part because of the battery’s larger physical capacity. The battery size of the iPhone 14 Pro Max hasn’t been changed by Apple this year, so it’s probably the same 4,352mAh battery.
