Film Star Shaan Shahid recently criticised cricketer Fakhar Zaman’s recent performance on the field during the Asia Cup 2022 series. During the last match between Pakistan and India, Zaman could not perform to his full capacity, for which he was also scrutinised on social media.
The hashtag of Fakhar Zaman’s name was also among the top trends on Twitter.
During the match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup, actor, Shaan was extremely displeased with Fakhar’s performance. He took it to his Twitter, where he denunciated Fakhar’s batting and fielding, in multiple tweets.
Fakhr 16 balls 15 runs only 2 balls from the middle of the bat … and you are suppose to be playing national cricket wow
Post his comments, several netizens trolled him for his remarks. The social media user told him that only 2-4 films of his are worth watching out of his filmography ranging over 500 films.
The Majajan star clapped back at him by saying that there is a difference between arts and sports.
Earlier this year, the Zaraar hero grilled former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar for wishing former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on his birthday and not wishing birthday to former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
“Happy Birthday @sachin_rt . Hope you’re having a wonderful day,” wrote Shoaib Akhtar while sharing an old picture with Tendulkar.
Wah bhai inki to yaad hai .. @ImranKhanPTI ki 5 th October ko birthday thee 2021 main .. ek bhi message nahi apkay twitter account per .. bhai ?
Shaan, in the comments section of twitter account, expressed anger at Shoaib for wishing birthday to Sachin, reminding the former pacer that he had not wished former Prime Minister Imran Khan on his birthday.
“Wah bhai inki to yaad hai .. @ImranKhanPTI ki 5th October ko birthday thee 2021 main .. ek bhi message nahi apkay twitter account per .. bhai?,” wrote Shaan.
Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, expressed “deep regret” over his “unintentional utterances” in an additional reply in response to the show-cause notice issued to him by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for threatening a judge Zeba Chaudhary during a rally in Islamabad on August 20.
However, the submitted reply fell short of offering an unconditional apology.
IHC on August 31 had directed the former Prime Minister to resubmit his response, giving him seven days to hand in the new draft.
During the proceedings, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah had said he was “disappointed” by the written response submitted by Khan. He asked him to review it and submit it once more.
In a 19-page-long document, Khan told the court that it should discharge the notice based on his explanation and follow the Islamic principles of forgiveness.
“That the purpose of the contempt law is not to punish anyone but to uphold the majesty of law. The respondent [Khan] believes in the rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution,” the response said.
“The respondent takes this opportunity to express his deep regrets over his unintentional utterances during the course of his speech at a rally which was taken out in response to the shocking news of the physical torture of Shahbaz Gill.”
PTI’s Chief of Staff, Shahbaz Gill, has been under arrest since August 9 for allegedly inciting mutiny within the Pakistan army. Gill has alleged that he was tortured while in custody.
In his resubmitted reply, Khan said that the utterances were “unintentional” and not meant to be directed towards the female judge for whom he has “a lot of respect”.
Khan said that he never meant to hurt her feelings and if her feelings have been hurt, it is deeply regretted.
“The respondent neither meant to threaten the lady judge nor could he think of doing so. The respondent has respect for the judiciary including the Subordinate judiciary and he believes that judges of the Subordinate/ District judiciary should be strong and independent in order to dispense justice to the common man,” the response added.
In the end, the PTI chairman appealed to the court to discharge the contempt notice issued to him.
A missing five-year-old Afghan boy was found murdered on Monday in Karachi. The boy was also raped before being murdered, police have confirmed.
The minor went missing on Sunday, however, at the time the deceased’s father didn’t register any report. The father has told the police that he had no enmity with anyone.
Later, the area Station House Officer (SHO) said that an First Information Report (FIR) was lodged on the complaint of the child’s father, who is an Afghan.
Police Surgeon Summaiya Syed said that after the autopsy it was found that the boy was sexually assaulted, reports Dawn.
“The face was covered with a plastic bag. His hands were tied behind his back with nylon wire and he was strangled to death,” she said.
Taking notice of the incident, Karachi police chief formed an investigation team and directed it to submit a progress report within three days.
Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are actively promoting their upcoming film Brahmastra as the release date draws closer. There have been calls for the boycott of Brahmastra as well for different reasons. Whether it is Karan Johar’s backing of the film or Alia Bhatt’s controversial comments in a recent interview, the movie has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Recently internet users dug out an old Ranbir Kapoor interview from ten years ago and cited it as a reason to boycott the film.
The video of the interview is being reshared now with fresh calls for a boycott of his forthcoming biggie.
Not just a boycott, the beef controversy resulted in an embarrassing affair for the lead couple of the film. Members of right-wing groups Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, created a huge row in Ujjain today ahead of the visit of actors Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Ayan Mukerji. They were to visit the famous Jyotirlinga at the Mahakaleshwar Temple this evening.
Ahead of the visit, the right-wing workers gathered at the main gate and the conch gate meant for VVIPs to show them black flags. The police had to use batons to bring the crowd under control.
After promoting the film in Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad, the lead actors of Brahmastra had taken a flight to Ujjain hoping to visit the Mahakaleshwar Temple along with director Ayan Mukerji.
Since Alia Bhatt is pregnant, she decided not to go to the temple amid the ruckus. Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor returned to Indore without darshan. From Indore, they will take a flight to Mumbai, said Ashish Singh, the Collector of Ujjain.
After the situation was brought under control, only Ayan Mukerji went to the temple and had darshan, said Mr Singh.
Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukerji, also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Akkineni Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles and is a fantasy adventure film that draws heavily from mythology. It is slated for release on September 9.
The Russian Foreign Ministry and Afghan officials have confirmed that two Russian embassy staff members were among six people who were killed in a suicide bombing near the entrance of the Russian embassy in Kabul.
The attack was claimed by the Islamic State militant group.
“As a result of the attack, two employees of the diplomatic mission were killed and there are also victims among Afghan citizens,” the ministry said.
“I went to the Russian embassy to get a visa. We were sitting outside. The consul came and we showed him our papers, he guided us towards the entrance door of the embassy. Suddenly the blast occurred and I fell to the ground, “a man called Faiz Mohammad told Reuters.
Ahmad Samir, a boy who suffered head injuries in the blast, said “There were so many injured people around, everyone was fleeing the site”.
According to the police, the attacker was recognised and he was shot. “The suicide attacker, before reaching the target, was recognised and shot by Russian embassy [Taliban] guards,” said Mawlawi Sabir, the head of the police district.
Police said the attacker was shot dead by armed guards as he approached the embassy gate.
The bombing appeared to be the first to target a foreign diplomatic mission in Kabul since the Taliban takeover in 2021.
Russia is one of the few countries to have maintained an embassy in Kabul after the Taliban took over the country more than a year ago.
It is pertinent to mention that Moscow does not officially recognise the Taliban’s government, however, they have been in talks with officials over an agreement to supply gasoline and other commodities.
Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen and IPL founder Lalit Modi took the internet by storm when they made their relationship official a little over a month ago. However, rumours about their break up have started doing the rounds since Modi has changed his bio and profile picture on Instagram.
The IPL founder and business tycoon announced his relationship with Sushmita on his social media space on July 14th this year. Proclaiming his love for the former Miss Universe, he also changed his profile picture on Instagram, along with his bio. It read, “founder @iplt20 INDIAN PREMIERE LEAGUE finally starting a new life with my partner in crime. My love @sushmitasen47.” But things have changed now, which has sparked breakup rumours. Modi has not only changed his display picture, but his bio too, as he removed the part about Sushmita. However, the duo has not made any official statements yet.
Recently, Sushmita was spotted with her ex-beau Rohman Shawl quite a few times, which left netizens asking about Lalit Modi. Although Sushmita and Rohman announced their break up last year, they maintain a good bond.
Back in July, he shared a slew of pictures with Sushmita on his Instagram space from their holiday together. Sharing the photos he wrote, “Just back in London after a whirling global tour #maldives # sardinia with the families – not to mention my # better-looking partner @sushmitasen47 – a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon. In love does not mean marriage yet. But one that by God’s grace will happen. I just announced that we are together”
The post created a lot of buzz on social media, with many speculating if the duo is going to get married soon. However, the ex-IPL boss soon clarified that the two are ‘just dating’.
Sushmita had shut trolls with an apt note, who referred to her as a ‘gold digger’ soon after the announcement of their relationship. A part of the note posted by the Aarya actress read, “I dig deeper than Gold…and I’ve always (famously) preferred Diamonds!! And yes I still buy them myself!!! I love the all-heart support my well-wishers & loved ones continue to extend. Please know, that your Sush is ABSOLUTELY fine.. cause I’ve never lived on the transient borrowed light of approval & applause. I am the Sun….perfectly Centred in my being & my conscience!! I love you guys!!!”
Lalit Modi has been in London since 2010 when he left India amid investigations into tax evasion and money-laundering cases.
Sen, who was crowned Miss Universe in 1994, made her debut in Bollywood with the 1996 film Dastak. She has starred in films like Biwi No 1, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, Main Hoon Na and No Problem.
Sushmita has two daughters – Alisah and Renee. The 46-year-old actress was last seen in the web series Aarya 2.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi, distancing from party Chairman Imran Khan’s anti-establishment remarks has said that he hasn’t seen or heard Khan’s controversial remarks.
“Mainay bayaan ko suna nahi hai, mainay dekha nahi hai. Main apsay sun raha hon. [I have not heard or seen his comments. I am listening to them from you]. Once I know the background of the story I will be able to comment on this,” he said on a news show. The remark earned him a few smiles from the program host.

“However, I know he [Imran Khan] knows the importance of this institution. He has always protected this institution as well,” he added.
Khan on September 4, alleged that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and Zardari wanted to appoint their favourite as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) because if a “strong and patriotic army chief” was appointed, they would be questioned about their corruption.
Earlier today, Khan has said that he has had enough of the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) “cabal of crooks” who are trying to launch propaganda against him.
In a tweet, the PTI chairman said, “Am following intense propaganda launched by PDM cabal of crooks against me.This stems from their being petrified of PTI’s soaring popularity.”
“Today in Peshawar jalsa I will give proper reply to all those who have deliberately been distorting my words to malign me. Enough is enough,” said Khan.
President of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi has also said that the chairman of his party, Khan “apne bayaan ki khud wazahat karey ke in ka kya maqsad tha”. (Imran Khan should himself clarify what he meant.)
Pakistan is observing Defence Day today to pay tribute to the martyrs of the country and to their sacrifices in defending its borders.
Nishan-e-Haider is the highest military gallantry award in Pakistan. It is conferred upon soldiers who perform acts of great heroism in circumstances of extreme danger and to those who demonstrate the bravery of the highest order.
Here is the list of eleven recipients of Nishan-e-Haider.
Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed
Captain Sarwar was the first person to receive Nishan-e-Haider in the history of Pakistan. He served as a Company Commander in the Uri Sector in Kashmir. He was awarded Nishan-e-Haider for laying down his life during the first Pakistan-India war in 1948.
Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed
Born in 1922 in Khandbaz Tehsil Nakial (Azad Jammu & Kashmir), Naik embraced martyrdom during a battle on 26 October 1948 for which the Defence Council of Azad Jammu & Kashmir adorned him with Hilal-e-Kashmir (posthumous) the next year. In1995, the government of Pakistan declared his Hilal-e-Kashmir equivalent to Nishan-e Haider.
Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed
In 1958, the Indian Army troops occupied the Lakshmipur area in East Pakistan. Major Tufail was tasked with recapturing the occupied area. Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed
He was commissioned as a pilot in Pakistan Air Force in 1971. The same year Pilot Officer Minhas stopped his plane from entering Indian territory. He tried to regain control of the plane but was unable to do so. Knowing that it meant certain death, he damaged the controls and forced the aircraft to crash thirty-two miles short of the border for which he was awarded Nishan-e-Haider.
Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed
Major Shabbir Sharif embraced martyrdom fifty years ago on December 6 at Sulemanki Sector during the 1971 war.
Sowar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed
During the 1971 war, Sowar took an active part in every battle with the unit. During the battle, he was hit in the chest with machinegun fire and embraced martyrdom on 10 December 1971.

Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz Shaheed
During the 1971 war, Naik participated in the famous Pul Kunjry operation and captured the area. He was stabbed with bayonets and embraced martyrdom on the night of 17 December 1971. The next morning ceasefire was ordered and the enemy commander himself praised the Lance Naik while handing over his dead body wrapped in the Pakistani flag.
Captain Karnal Sher Shaheed
During Kargil War, the Captain set up personal examples of bravery and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy. He also chased the enemy and conducted many raids in the enemy area. During one of those raids, he went inside the enemy camp where he inflicted heavy losses. During the battle, he was hit in the chest and embraced shahadat (martyrdom) on 5 July 1999.
Havaldar Lalak Jan Shaheed
Like Captain Karnal Shaheed, the Havaldar embraced martyrdom during Kargil War. On 7 July 1999, he sustained serious injuries as enemies pounded the area with heavy mortar shells. But despite being injured, he retained his position and frustrated the Indian assault.
Pakistan won against India on Sunday in a super four-stage match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 in Dubai on Sunday.
Mohammad Nawaz helped Pakistan to chase India’s mammoth score of 181 runs. Nawaz scored a T20I career-best 42 off 20 balls including six boundaries and two maximums. His 71 runs partnership with Mohammad Rizwan proved pivotal in sealing India’s fate.
Asif Ali, on the other hand, scored a crucial 16 runs on eight balls.
The match-winning performances of Nawaz and Asif have made Twitter users draw comparisons between politicians Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari and both the cricketers.
Have a look at the memes:
Neither Imran Khan nor India could beat the combo of Nawaz and Asif Ali Zardari.
After a blazing start by India, Pakistan bowlers bounced back to halt India’s march, restricting the defending champions to 181/7 in 20 overs. Chasing 182, Pakistan achieved the target with one ball to spare. Pakistan will play its second Super Four stage match against Afghanistan on Wednesday.
President of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi has said that the chairman of his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan “apne bayaan ki khud wazahat karey ke in ka kya maqsad tha”. (Imran Khan should himself clarify what he meant.)
While talking to media at Governor House in Peshawar, Alvi stressed that all soldiers including the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) are patriots. He said that Pakistan Army is busy in helping flood affectees of the country and no one can doubt their patriotism.
“Including the incumbent government, every institution is patriotic”, the President added.
Alvi claimed that he is trying to clear all the misunderstandings between the stakeholders.
Addressing a jalsa in Faislabad on Sunday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan alleged that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari wanted to appoint their favourite as COAS because if a “strong and patriotic army chief” was appointed, they would be questioned about their corruption.
“The army chief of this country should be appointed on merit. The one who is on merit should become the next army chief,” said Khan.

It is pertinent to mention that Khan drew fire from government leaders over his remarks about the appointment of the next chief of army staff. PTI leaders have been trying to clarify their chairman’s remarks.
Former Human Rights Minister and PTI leader Shireen Mazari called Nawaz and Zardari “criminals”. She said, “Chairman PTI’s statement was about merit & merit in the selection of COAS cannot be made by two criminals whose only priority is to save their billions stashed abroad and who have zero credibility. Remember DawnLeaks & Memogate?”

Remember DawnLeaks & Memogate? Or the many public statements of PMLN, PPP, JUIF ag mly! https://t.co/ksetK5KqJR
Fawad Chaudhry denied the fact that Khan called the army unpatriotic.
He said, “As far as I remember, Imran Khan did not mention unpatriotic, every general and Pakistani citizen is a patriot. Imran Khan talked about appointment on merit. Anyway, this is a political matter, not a judicial one. Commenting on the topic is inappropriate.”
Irked by Imran Khan’s recent remarks about the appointment of a new COAS, the Chief Justice (CJ) of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Athar Minallah minced no words.
“Did you hear Imran Khan’s speech from yesterday,” the Chief Justice asked the former prime minister’s lawyer on Monday. “Do political leaders deliver such speeches? Will everything be put at stake just for the sake of “game of thrones?” The honourable judge asked during the hearing of a petition filed by the PTI against a ban imposed by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on the live telecast of the speeches of Khan.
Pakistani Army also expressed extreme displeasure over Imran Khan’s recent statement against the establishment and said that the institution was “aghast” over it.
