‘Tears rolled down’: Azekah Daniel walks out of a show because of insensitive jokes by comedians

Actor Azekah Daniel took to Twitter to share the reason for walking out of a talk show’s set. The Cheekh actress schooled the comedians on the show of being oblivious to the fine line between joking and bullying. The Noor Jehan star showed her disapproval over the nature of jokes made.

She stated, “So today I walked out of a show because some comedians clearly don’t understand the difference between humour or degrading someone. Tears rolled down as I left the set full of people. Jokes are meant to be funny not hurt someone’s feelings.”

Netizens appreciated Daniel for not taking insensitive jokes with a pinch of salt and for shaming such humour publicly.

‘Invited her to Goa in the garb of a shoot’: Sonali Phogat’s alleged murderer confesses his crime

Bigg Boss 14 contestant and social media star Sonali Phogat’s sudden demise has left her family and fans in a state of shock. Earlier it was reported that the BJP leader passed away due to a cardiac arrest, however, her autopsy report brought shocking details to the forefront.

Recently, Sonali’s post-mortem report surfaced on the web and it stated that there were multiple ‘blunt force injuries. Following the results, Goa police have now filed a murder case.

Sonali, who rose to fame with TikTok videos, passed away on August 22.

Phogat’s death soon took an ugly turn. According to the latest media reports, the BJP leader was drugged during a party before her death. Shocking, right? Reportedly, her associates Sudhir Sagwan and Sukhwinder, who were recently interrogated by the Goa police for their connection with the alleged murder, had mixed a chemical in her drink.

Giving details of Sonali Phogat’s case, Goa Inspector General Omvir Singh Bishnoi told a section of media, “It was seen that one suspect gave her some substance forcefully. She was given some obnoxious chemical and after that, she was not in control.”

“At 4:30 am when she was not in control, the suspect took her in the toilet and there is no explanation of what they did for two hours. The duo are arrested. The FSL team will take them to various places. The duo will be produced in court soon. Seems to be that she died under the influence of this drug,” added the officer.

Soon after Sonal Phogat’s autopsy report had surfaced, police had begun interrogating his close aides. It was being said they were just questioned and not arrested. On the other hand, the BJP leader’s family alleges that she was r*ped by her assistants.

The alleged murderers mixed a chemical in her drink.

The latest report from Republic World, Sonali Phogat’s assistant Sudhir Sangwan, who is accused of her murder, has now confessed to his crimes during the investigation. She was brought to Goa from Gurgaon in the garb of a photo shoot.

The report quoted a source close to the Goa police as saying, “There was no planning to shoot in Goa. Sudhir and his aide had actually conspired to murder Phogat.” His aide Sukhwinder Singh, restaurateur Edwin Nunes, and alleged drug peddlers Dattaprasad Gaonkar and Ramdas Mandrekar are also being arrested for Phogat’s death.

Goa police had also confirmed that all the relevant documents have been recovered that are enough to get Sudhir Sangwan convicted in the murder case. They have now enough proof to stand strong in court during the trial.

Previous reports revealed that Sonali Phogat and her aides partied at the Curlies restaurant on the intervening night of August 22 and 23. CCTV footage of the incident also went viral on social media. In the video, Sudhir Sangwan was seen forcing Phogat to have a drink laced with drugs.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Jivba Dalvi had said that Phogat was administered methamphetamine, and some left-over drug was recovered from the restaurant’s washroom.

  • Ahsan Khan breaks silence on getting trolled for viral scene with Ayesha Omar

Ahsan Khan breaks silence on getting trolled for viral scene with Ayesha Omar

Earlier this year when actor Ayesha Omar shared a horse-riding video from the sets of her film, Rehbra costarring Ahsan Khan, her post received backlash over their supposed explicit pose. The Bulbulay diva later edited the caption to include a note specifically aimed at those who had something unpleasant to say about it.

“P.s. turned off comments! Don’t want negative energy around. We just doing our work baby and laughing through the hard, tough shoot to keep our energy, mood and focus up. It was freezing and raining and we hadn’t slept properly in days because of nonstop shoot. We had 30 minutes to finish the entire sequence. We still put in our best with smiles on our faces. And that’s NOT easy,” she wrote in the caption.

The duo was quick to respond on their personal profiles, with Omar adding in a short note in her original post’s caption. In the note, Omar clarifies the context of the clip, including the cast keeping up morale in the midst of difficult shooting conditions. She wraps up her note by shutting down all unfounded rumors about a romantic relationship between her and Khan.

The Udaari hero also posted an Instagram story to defend the film from the trolls, taking a more humorous approach. He directly addresses the trolls who have torn apart a simple scene from the film.

Now the Fraud star has opened up on the scene in an exclusive interview with anchor Shahzad Iqbal on his show, Jashn-e-Cricket.

Although initially Ahsan couldn’t control his laughter on being teased by Shahzad for the scene, later he revealed that the video was misinterpreted by netizens.

Khan also shared the context of the scene and justified the duo’s positioning on the horse.

  • ‘Real name is Aslam, he converted, incites people for violence’: Kangana Ranaut targets Mahesh Bhatt

‘Real name is Aslam, he converted, incites people for violence’: Kangana Ranaut targets Mahesh Bhatt

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut is known for her unfiltered statements. From calling out ‘movie mafia’ to slamming filmmaker Karan Johar, she has always bluntly raised her points. Now she has accused director Mahesh Bhatt of casually inciting people for violence.

Kangana Ranaut targets Mahesh Bhatt; says he converted his religion to marry Soni Razdan

The Queen actor took to her verified Instagram handle and shared a series of video stories, which featured Mahesh Bhatt. In the videos, Bhatt can be addressing a crowd. Ranaut also alleged that his ‘real name’ was not Mahesh, but ‘Aslam’. In the following story, which had another part of the same video, she wrote, “I am told his (Mahesh Bhatt) real name is Aslam… he converted to marry his second wife (Soni Razdan)… it is a beautiful name, why hide it?”

Kangana added, “He must use his real name, not represent a certain religion, when he has converted…”

Commenting on another one where Bhatt is seen speaking about Islam as a peaceful religion and quoting a verse from the Holy Quran, she added, “I am told his real name is Aslam. He converted to marry his second wife (Soni Razdan) It is a beautiful name, why hide it?”

She further wrote, “He must use his real name, not represent a certain religion when he has converted.”

This was not the first time when the 35-year-old actor has targeted the veteran director. In 2020, she had accused the filmmaker of assaulting her when she turned down his daughter Pooja Bhatt’s film. On the other hand, before the release of Mahesh’s daughter Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, Ranaut had taken an indirect dig at father-daughter duo. While slamming them on her Instagram stories, she said that the film’s blunder was “wrong casting,” referring to Alia as “daddy’s angel” and Mahesh as “movie mafia.”

Earlier this year the Woh Lamhe siren strongly criticised a video of a little girl who recreated a scene of Alia Bhatt’s upcoming biopic film, Gangubai Kathiawadi. An Instagram influencer, Kiara Khanna who is also known as ‘chhoti Alia Bhatt’, re-enacted a dialogue of Alia from her upcoming film which went viral across social media.

'Obscene': Kangana Ranaut lashes out at child for imitating Alia Bhatt’s 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' scene

She shared two screenshots on Instagram stories and tagged Minister of Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani.

She penned, “Should this child imitate a sex worker with a beedi in her mouth and crude and obscene dialogues? Look at her body language, is it ok to sexualize her at this age? There are hundreds of other children who are being used similarly.”

The film is based on the life of a real sex worker based in Mumbai who is mentioned in the book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ by S. Hussain Zaidi. It is being released under the banner of Bhansali Productions with the collaboration of Pen India Limited. Ajay Devgn and Vijay Raaz will also be seen in interesting roles.

She also slammed Deepika Padukone and Ananya‘s film, Gehraiyaan.

She wrote, “I am also a millennial but I identify and understand this kind of romance … in the name of millennial/new age/urban movies don’t sell trash pls … bad movies are bad movies no amount of skin show or p*rnography can _ save it … it’s a basic fact koi gehraiyaan wali baat nahi hai (there is no depth in it).”

‘Rise above national politics, deafening’: Mehwish Hayat calls out Bollywood biggies amidst flood crises

Actor Mehwish Hayat took to her Twitter handle to condemn Bollywood bigwigs for maintaining silence on the flood crises in Pakistan.

The London Nahi Jaunga diva shared that she’s disappointed by Bollywood celebrities for their lack of support for Pakistan at a time when the country is facing devastating floods while celebrities across the world were expressing concern like Bella Hadid and Engin Altan.

Mehwish took to her Instagram Stories to share a note by journalist Haroon Rashid, who hosts a show on BBC. Acknowledging his post and calling his point ‘valid’, she wrote, “The silence from the Bollywood fraternity is deafening.

In his original post, Haroon had said, “I genuinely thought humanity knows no borders but it’s telling that hardly any Bollywood stars have posted about the devastating floods in Pakistan – raise awareness, share links, just show sympathy. They know how popular they are and how much that acknowledgment would mean.”

Pakistan is in a state of national emergency with over 1,200 dead, over 12,000 injured and tens of millions displaced.

Mehwish said, ‘Suffering knows no nationality, race, or religion – no better time for them to show us that they can rise above nationalist politics and care about their fans in Pakistan. We are hurting and a kind word or two would not go amiss.”

Last November, Hayat spoke out against the stereotypical and problematic portrayal of Muslims in major Bollywood films.

The Tamgha-e-Imtiaz recipient turned to her Instagram stories to call out Rohit Shetty’s latest directorial Sooryavanshi.

The Punjab Nahi Jaungi star also urged Bollywood to ‘build bridges’ not ‘hatred’ in their movies.

  • Men need to know, it’s time to talk about the menstrual period

Men need to know, it’s time to talk about the menstrual period

Pakistan is in the throes of devastating floods that have wreaked havoc across all four provinces. The scale of devastation has been estimated to be more than $10 billion. And yet with thousands of lives lost, and millions homeless, we are still debating on whether sending sanitary napkins to the flood-affected areas is a good idea or not. As per an estimate, 8.2 million women in flood-affected areas are of reproductive age. Menstruating women in disaster-hit areas require access to safe and clean menstruation hygiene products. We need to understand that periods don’t pause during floods or rains. It’s a natural process that keeps happening every month to every woman of age. There are women who are pregnant. There might be a few girls who will get their periods for the time. Due to the present conditions when there is no clean water, the use of cloth can be dangerous as well. There are reports that women have had to resort to using leaves in the flood-affected areas during their periods.

Read more: Floods in Pakistan: Should you donate sanitary pads?

In times like these when every human matters, why does it happen that women are so conveniently put under the radar and a product that is a basic need for any woman of age, becomes a topic of debate in terms of whether it is a luxury or a necessity? When will people learn to accept that talking or educating about periods is not taboo? It’s about a woman’s hygiene and health. We all need to understand that men and women all need to be treated the same way, with dignity and equality. All of them need the same basic facilities.

It will take a lot of effort and manpower to provide the rehabilitation and relief needed for millions of people. It’s time we hit pause on always putting women under the radar and for once act with reason and responsibility towards them. We need to learn to empathise with the flood victims without gender discrimination.

‘September sitamgar hoga’: Sheikh Rasheed announces Khan’s march in Islamabad

Former interior minister and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed said on Sunday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan will give a call to his supporters to march towards Islamabad once the flood situation eases down.

Rasheed took to his Twitter handle and warned: “Sitambar Sitamgar ho ga (September will be cruel)”.

The former federal minister pointed out that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has made yet another agreement of Rs608 billion with the government. “First they robbed the treasury and now the people’s pockets”, he said.

“Floods have opened the eyes of the people of Sindh, the floods have destroyed the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) reputation. How will other countries give aid when the people of the country refuse to give money to money launderers?”

He said that the people can not bear the burden of increasing petrol and power prices, yet the “government continues to raise them”.

In a series of tweets, he said that IMF knows that there is a weak majority of the government and people can come to the streets.

“The time is not far when factories and shops will be closed, people will be on the streets”, he warned again while adding that floods have become a matter of “political point scoring”.

Rasheed’s statement came a day after Imran Khan warned the government to stop the “persecution” of his party workers otherwise he will again march on Islamabad.

He said the government would have “no place to hide” in the event he comes to Islamabad.

Has Leonardo DiCaprio found love in Gigi Hadid post break-up with Camila Morrone

Rumour mills in Hollywood are buzzing that actor Leonardo DiCaprio and supermodel Gigi Hadid hooked up recently after the Titanic star’s breakup from Camila Morrone.

Life & Style reported on August 31, 2022, that Leo, 47, and Gigi, 27, have “hooked up a few times” since his breakup with Camilla, 25, and that the blonde model is “exactly his type.”

News broke of Leo and Camilla’s split last week. “Leo and Camila have had a few breaks in the past few months. It’s a matter of deciding whether they are in it for the long haul or just going to let it die,” a source told In Touch Weekly at the time.

“With all of Leo’s girlfriends, once she became focused on work and had her own priorities, he got distant. Rather than have dramatic breakups, they took time apart.”

Another source also confirmed to the magazine that Leo and Gigi have a fling. “It’s casual and not a constant thing. But they have lots of mutual friends,” the insider said. However, a third source denied a romantic relationship between Leo and Gigi and claimed the two are just friends. The report comes after a source told Deux Moi in July 2022 that Gigi and Leo were seen together at The Ned NoMad in New York City. “Gigi Hadid and Leonardo DiCaprio partying close together at The Ned (formerly known as The Nomad hotel),” the source reported.

The report about Gigi and Leo also comes after the Oscar winner was photographed partying with 22-year-old model Maria Beregova in St. Tropez, France, in July 2022. Beregova was seen with Leo around the same time she divorced her husband, entrepreneur Ahmed Masoud Abdelhafid, whose grandfather is related to dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. The Daily Mail reported at the time that Beregova reverted to her maiden name around the time she was seen with Leo.

Before Leo and Camilla’s split, a source told E! News in December 2021 that the two were “going strong and doing really well.” “He’s very cozy with Cami and they’re serious, “the insider said at the time. “He is filming right now, but Leo has been settling into this domestic life with Cami, as opposed to all the time he used to spend out with his boys. He does really like his life with her and they’re a lot more coupley than they used to be.” The report came about two years before Leo and Camila made their debut as a couple at the 2020 Oscars.

Earlier this year Leo was spotted cosying up with Indian businesswoman Natasha Poonawalla. The duo attended a friend’s wedding in London and post that was spotted at a restaurant together.
